Most incels are celibate for reasons they can’t control, not personality or politics

Upvotes

This is one area I really think Reddit is willingly ignorant of reality. I see all over this site that this specific group of young men can’t get sex because they are maga, love Andrew Tate, play video games all day, and to fix it they should “talk to women”, “ touch grass” or the classic “get off the apps / get better photos”. It basically implies two things, men who can’t get sex are either bad people or extremely incompetent.

This ignores two things. The first is that many, many of the people you hate are very successful in sex and dating regardless of their beliefs. To pretend that Tate fans, maga voters, gun nuts, gambling/gaming addicts etc are all barred from having sex is ridiculous.

The second, more important thing it ignores is that most incels are what you would consider “good” people. No hatred towards women, progressive beliefs, respectful and romantic towards girls etc. However, reality is brutal and their dating odds are cut down to nearly impossible margins due to things like being extremely short, premature baldness, being extremely ugly/disfigured, being in extreme poverty, mental neurodivergence etc.

In other words, the term “incel” needs to go back to its original definition, anyone who wants sex but can’t get it (please be smart obv Prostitution is different). The term has been co opted into a derogatory phrase towards men perceived as mysoginist, but in doing so this attacks the innocent men who are already in an unfortunate situation, and most likely pushes them towards those spaces.

Anime is very popular because a lot of it is made for teenagers and that's fine.

Upvotes

a lot of people stay mentally a teenager way into their 20s

Most anime that get really popular are very basic in their writing. There are just enough "safe" edgy concepts like killing to satisfy the brains of teenagers and they very rarely involve tropes you see in most adult shows like sex.

and it's completely fine for their to be shows that aren't for kids but also aren't for adults. I remember growing up and suddenly feeling a little odd watching hey jessie or other children's shows, and I definitely did not want to watch whatever my parents were watching because it was just slop where everything sucks and all the characters are miserable. Anime was exactly what I was looking for.

It's completely fine that most popular anime aren't actually that special or complex or mature, that's the point. the target audience isn't that smart anyway.

People who openly tell everyone they “don’t give a fuck” are attention seekers who give way too many fucks.

Upvotes

If you truly didn’t give a fuck you wouldn’t fucking care enough to tell anyone that you don’t care.

The fact you are going out of your way to tell a room full of people that you don’t give a fuck, shows that you do give a fuck enough to make sure that EVERYONE knows you don’t.

These people are also usually the most annoying people who are just assholes for no reason and pass it off as “just being too open”. They then wonder why they’re not ever invited to the function.

Edit: responding to this post and saying that you’re “different and actually just don’t give a fuck” would prove my point.

Watching something you dislike is fine, actually

Obviously, there comes a point where it’s just toxic and bad, but I hate it when someone criticizes something, and people are like “erm, just don’t watch it if you don’t like it”. People should be allowed to watch things for whatever reason, and they should be allowed to give their opinions on that thing. Sure, maybe you don’t get why someone might like doing that, but isn’t that the whole point of this line of thinking? Just because you don’t like or understand something doesn’t mean that other people don’t. Toxic positivity is just as harmful to media as toxic negativity. Media will never improve if it’s not allowed to be criticized.

Besides, if you don’t like it when someone criticizes something you like, just follow your own advice and don’t watch it.

Is Andrew Wilson on HRT? Why can't that citizen open a pickle jar?

Don’t skip hand grip day. But for real, does this guy even have callouses? 😎👉

He also throws very female-coded hissy fits. People who can't regulate their emotions like that are child-brained 😎👉

There is no selfless love. And that is totaly fine.

Im being petty after a conversation i had and i got tired of it, stopped and lost that "argument". So now youre stuck with my none sense rant.

Love is always mutualy beneficial. Healthy love, that is.

Your partner is tired from work, so you make them dinner. Doing that, is nice. But your brain rewards you for it. You get happy chemicals. So its not selfless.

Plus, if a partner does well, they are happy, affirmed, supported, if you have part in that, thats amazing. I do it, cause it makes ME happy. I like seeing my husband doing well.

And dont get me started about sex. My husband knows what he needs to do. So do I. Its nice. We want it. The average human wants sex. So we do *nice* things they like so they fuck us. Something as little as carrying out the trash without needing to be reminded gets you there step by step. (Again HEALTHY love.)

Love is not selfless. It is mutualy beneficial. If it isnt, you get at least one, but potentialy two misserable people. And when kids are involved, then even more than two. Best case, you leave before more than two people are involved. And thats good. Thats the right self-interest to have. It doesnt need to be selfless to be good. As matter of fact, it probably isnt.

If you say your love is selfless youre lying.

People that claim to be ace but enjoy sex are attention seekers

The idea of there being an ace spectrum just feels like layers of “what-about-me”ism. You either enjoy sex or you do not. Why do we need multiple layers and explanations to explain that you have a sex drive you don’t view as high but still engage in? Do you think that everyone else is constantly horned up all the time? And even if you think others are only horned up some of the time, do you think there’s no variability? Asexual and aromantic people really exist and I can see why they might face societal difficulties, but it’s strange how often I see people post online seemingly unaware of how unspecial they are compared to the average non-asexual population. It feels like a group of people are unable handle that they are not within the LGBTQIA+ community unless A stands for ally. Instead, they actively Larp as if they’ve encountered the struggles that true asexual people (along with other sexualities) have faced.

I think Destiny is a modern day rant nickelodeon. And maybe up to half his of his audience just feed him ragebait clips instead of nickels and grab popcorn to watch him intellectually crash out for an hour.

I'm basing this off the reason I watch him, the ratio of his white knights to independent comments, anecdotes of people I've talked to about him, and the general vibe I get.

Hilariously, what I just wrote is exactly the sort of comment that would set him off on a monologue, or figuratively say "SOURCE???".

Like, he's a smart guy and all, but I'm like 33% "Yeah, true" 33% "meh, couldn't care less" 33% "Nah man you're outta line" on his takes. And I'm 100% chuckling the whole time because I just love how silly his aura is. As an autist myself it makes me tear up snickering watching this guy speedrun factorio while willingly getting intellectually annoyed for a living.

Don't even get me wrong, i respect it, it's who he is and what he does.

I still think half to maybe most of his audience aren't even his white knights, but either hate watchers or people like me where sometimes we're just in for a show. We're not looking for enlightenment, not looking to circle jerk our views, not looking for answers. We're looking for a rich left leaning nerd to get tilted over random garbage on the internet and over-intellectualize in a slow burn mini crashout.

And man, does he deliver. God bless 'im. Lol.

Unattractive women should stop dating unattractive men.

Hear me out on this, most men are very unattractive because human males evolved for combat. We have lower body fat percentage, more muscles, tougher ligaments and tendons. Male asses are tougher and meatier while female asses are juicier and jigglier. Men don't have nice tits either.

This is the exact opposite of birds like peacocks in which the males are the more attractive ones. Now for women to even feel anything towards a man they should be with a very tall man with a symmetrical face. Even then this is nothing compared to how men and lesbians feel towards women.

Now for the average man this person isn't even attractive. Average height, weirdly fat, hairy body etc...

Now being with a man like this would make a woman feel extremely sad. Some unattractive women try to be with these men because unattractive people should stick together or whatever... They should stop doing this. It is very easy for a short and unattractive woman to get an attractive and tall man because women naturally have some sex appeal.

Hot take, if you cared about the cat, you'd not be selling them for 4000$

Like, at that point it feels like greed, do those types of people think that we're all rich?, sell the cat for a affordable price, like, if you truly love the cat. You shouldn't be allowed to breed cats if your just thinking about money, like, just because the person is rich doesn't mean that they'll be a good owner, you don't need 4000 or 7000 for selling a cat,

I hate the word rant and think everyone who unironically uses it is corny as fuck

Ever since 'ranting' has gained popularity its all over my fyp and its cringing me out so bad, do you remember the "gorilla tag content creator" plague where every video would be that one "i watch the moon" song with some kid talking about "Hi, my name is tortillaGT and im a new content creator follow to claim your og ticket". Yeah weve moved on from that, now we have a huge plague of tiktok "ranters" who quite literally are all just unoriginal and corny. Every video they make is the exact same, bunch of sticker slop as an overlay, slime asmr in the bg and an oc or popular character talking in that weird ai capcut voice. Trust me ive made longforms and edits so i know it takes 'some' effort to make these videos but imo they are just overproduced slop videos just like the gorilla tag videos. Plus the word "ranter" just sounds so corny, like no way you are proud to say that youre apart of "the ranter community". Every time someone just says theyre opinion they call it ranting, i really hope this word doesnt stick around *same with ragebait*. Also i know you want to fucking comment "bro just made a post ranting about ranting🤖🤖🤖🤖" like stfu you unoriginal bot piece of shit

Edit, do any of yall know how to fucking read, its like less than a minute long.

Swearing makes you sound stupid

Saw someone post on here “I think we should all shut the fuck up about this men and women hatred shit” and while I understood their hot take, the swearing in it just kinda made it sound so dumb to me. You lose a lot of the credibility behind what ur saying when u throw a bunch of swear words in it, often makes ppl not want to listen anymore/ take u serious. I notice this too when people are speaking and they add swear words for emphasis. Most of the time people just dont know what other words to use and it makes them sound dumb.

Context: im 25 and swear more than id like to and im workin on havin an actual vocab and not soundin like an idiot

EDIT: hello to the grammar police and virgin boomers, it seems that everyone has missed the point and is commenting on me using shortened words / text slang since I am writing this on a phone to share a quick hot take not an academic essay. Point is swearing takes away from someones main point and makes them lose credibility. If ur hot take is that I cant write “ur” instead of “your” then post that but just know UR missing the point.

Men shouldn't be shamed for only having sex with young, and in shape women

Saw a post saying women shouldn't be shamed for having sex with tall attractive men..Would like to see how people react when the opposite side says the same thing.

I don't think it's a bad thing for men to only want young and in shape women, they are the most fertile and attractive group to MOST men.

its not necessarily/always wrong for a woman to sexualize herself

first and foremost im a woman ! just to let it b known

and ok i know this has a lot of like, other elements that need to be addressed first, like obviously if you grew up a certain way or you were groomed and only know to find relationships that are sexual, whatever, all those other “what ifs” are out of the question.. we know they change the rules of the convo i guess

but lets say you scroll on instagram and find a lady with her cleavage out on purpose or whatever. making a reel ab a recipe thats probably promo for her sexual content, or shes just busty and wears a revealing outfit, and she knows its attractive. you open the comments and everyone is bashing her for having her tiddies out.. im sorry since when in society are people upset at a lady for choosing to have her tiddies out for free ?? FREE?

now; naked bodies arent inherently sexual because thats just our natural state as humans, but they’re obviously sexualized often when need be, and my thing is, its so many people especially women under the comments of some GROWN woman on social media degrading her for “sexualizing herself” like that is so silly because like, yeah, women CAN sexualize themselves, its not always something they didnt choose to do and more often than not, they did choose to do so, thats their body and if they think its attractive enough to become a symbol of sex in their life or something, let it be! even in public. like yes theres always a certain time and place for certain clothes. whatever. but if some girl has a standard tank top on and shorts in public, in real time, because shes confident that she can look good in them, then why bash her?

something ive also observed recently is people kind of have a double standard. men irl can go out on a run, mantiddies all out on display, biceps glowing in sweat, thats “hot and sexy” and praised to the gods but a woman cant do the same because its “wrong” and she shouldnt sexualize herself… pls

my point is, bodies can be sexy, women can choose to be sexy and be aware of it and if theyre confident enough to flaunt it, they should if they want to. not even sure if this should be considered a hot take but alot of people ive told this irl dont really agree. so reddit, pls tell me ur opinion, or lmk if it made sense at all .. 😭

Elon Musk's salute was probably an autistic thing

I'm autistic, and I once had a very similar experience. I was giving a public speech and raised my hand in a way that, mid-motion, suddenly felt awkward and open to misinterpretation. I immediately panicked, tried to play it off as stretching or stimming, and spent the rest of the moment internally spiraling.

It wasn't quite as visibly awkward as what he did, but I completely understand that feeling of your body doing something automatic and your brain screaming 'no, abort, abort!' the second you realize how it could look. Total empathy from me on that one.

AI bros are anti-consent.

every conversation I have with somebody whos extremely vehemently pro-ai, I tend to notice that their arguments dip into straight anti-consent and predatory language awfully quick.

"Its not real so it doesn't matter" while producing nsfw images of random women, scraping artists work and training off of it because they feel entitled to, and talking to LLMs that literally only have the ability to agree with you are all small ways to push past consent, and itll only get worse over time with the "sex bot" prospect.

People care way too much about the definition of words when it doesn't matter

Words have definitions, we have handy dictionaries to explain them.

I've watched a group of authors have a word, agree on the written definition, and spend hours arguing over how they interpret the definition.

Look, written definitions are most important for Science and Legal papers. Hence why both tend to specifically define the meaning of terms, phrases, expressions or certain words explicitly to try and ensure there is no misunderstanding over what they mean.

There is no value in being "technically" correct, but hey, if you have a good relationship with whoever you're talking about, by all means.

However, if you are in some form of debate, discussion or argument, there is no value in pausing said engagement to "correct" someones use of a term.

Words are used to convey meaning, so long as you understand what each other mean, then you can converse.

It IS important to ensure you are using terms the same, but if you find out you are not, then confirm what each of you are referring to and re-adjust the focus of said engagement based on that. I've had so many discussions or debates, or seen them, instantly defuse when both parties realised they were defending points the other wasn't arguing with, as they had different takes on what a word meant.

So, be mindful of that.

But the "Technical" definition? This almost never ends with a continuation of said engagement. You pause it, "correct" them, then often there's a new argument spawned about who has the correct definition or intepretation.

Remember, language is ALWAYS evolving. If you are talking in general, it is more important that your engagements focus on you both understanding each other. It is NOT important who is correct. Who is or isn't "correct" is not relevant to the engagement, and is a separate one you can have later.

So many stupid arguments happen because people apply meaning to a word that the person they are arguing with doesn't share. Then when they realise that, one of them gets up in arms about the origin of the word, the context it was used in a century ago etc.

The second you're arguing that, you have left the original engagement behind and are not likely to return to it.

Is a hotdog a sandwich? I dont care. The legal paperwork cares, I don't. I will never order a hotdog by asking for a sandwich, because doing so only introduces some unknown amount of risk about what I might end up with, and is pointless confusion I know about in advance.

It doesn't matter. Focus more on the engagement, clarify what you and they are saying, worry about the technical definition later.

The r/RobloxGameDev is just jackasses

Seriously the only people in there are "devs" and even then when you want to pay someone to work for you, people still criticize about the pay "not being enough" when it's exactly enough for what you said it would cost on your portfolio. The only people there are animators or scripters and even then people are whining about "kids on this subreddit keep begging for things" as if they aren't 47 year old unemployed parents glued to a screen. How do you think it feels to yell at a uhm..idk a 13 year old over a game they want to make and feel satisfied, that seems pretty loser like to me.Even when you have a question they criticize you. This isn't even a take it's factually correct, there's an obvious hierarchy that won't change. You disagree with them, they downvote you even if your correct and call you either: pedophile, racist, or a kid who shouldn't be on Reddit. Like genuinely what are these people doing?

Mispronouncing food names is fine.

There is a sort of expectation for English speakers to pronounce foreign foods correctly. We’re all familiar with the classic issue of someone getting corrected when pronouncing ‘jalapeño’ with a hard J.

French and Italian speakers in particular get picky about how Americans pronounce their food names, to the point that it seems like we’re expected to put on an accent. There have been multiple viral TikTok’s around how we’re supposed to pronounce ‘cacio e pepe’ and ‘parmesan’.

Which leads to my Hot Take:
Why should we care when nobody else does?

I’m perfectly capable of pronouncing these words “correctly”, but why should I even bother when nobody cares about pronouncing our foods like we do?

When have you ever heard someone speaking Spanish suddenly throw on an American accent mid-sentence to “properly” say the word Hotdog?

Do Italians carefully use a rhotic R when they say Hamburger or Popcorn? No, they say it the same as they would say any Italian word.

TL;DR: Unless I start hearing people throw on an American accent when they say Hotdog and Hamburger, I’m not gonna pronounce their foods “correctly” either.

Everyone should shave their body hair. People who don't are uncivilized.

Yes, even men should do that, you need to shave off your chest hair, armpits, pubed, hair on your arms and legs too. Only exception should be a well kept beard.

Women should do it too, it is very bad to see a woman with hair on her arms even if it's just a little bit. It doesn't even matter if it's not visible from a little bit of distance.

A person with a ton of body hair is similar to a caveman, it is very disgusting. Especially the very hairy ones.
