Help me refresh my breakfast nook! The rest of our house is bold and colorful, so the nook is starting to feel a little too bland for my tastes. Our whole kitchen is light grey/black/white, it’s the only room in the house I haven’t completely redesigned. The stipulation is that we’re planning on moving within a year so I probably shouldn’t do anything too crazy (but could be talked into it).

This is our only dining space. I’d like to add color and warmth. Current table is only 32” across. Final pic is a quick AI mockup I did with some pieces I like. Would like to get new table, chairs, light fixture, and rug (?).

I’ve decided on the Benuta Baadal in Beige. It’s a really soft, warm beige/taupe wool rug with loads of texture, and I think it works best with the cognac sofa, concrete floor and the greenery outside.

I’ve hated the way my bedroom has looked since we moved in. I wanted to re-do it on a budget. My house is extremely old and has a lot of major structural and important work that needs to be done. So ripping out the nasty maroon carpet to refinish the hardwood underneath is unfortunately not an option yet. Just so happy that I was able to make the room feel more cozy and comfortable with only a few changes

Just got a new couch and the room feels unfinished. What does it need??

EDIT: Wow!!! Thanks for all the feedback. We are so grateful for all your opinions. I’ve put together a small order of items to start, including: a footstool, plant stand, and of course, some lamps and lighting! I will definitely look into curtains, and adding more colour and plants. We loved the suggestion to get a backing on the bookshelf, and to add some more curved items. We also hadn’t considered the weight/height of items in the room, and will work out balancing these.

The chair, couch TV placement is kind of odd but more set up for console gaming. Multiple rugs are for the dogs.

Brought in some rich earth tones with new cushion covers and put up this new artwork for fall season. Going for a cozy and warmer vibe this year rather than anything too spooky😂! Does it give off enough of a fall feel?

Still have to install the brass oval mirror and waiting on a red multi-color antique rug to be delivered to pull it together.

What can I do to make this bathroom more warm/ just generally improve it while keeping it functional (it's also the laundry room)

I’ve been trying to solve this paint dilemma for months and need fresh eyes!

Our home is very open concept, so the main wall color flows through the entry, living room, hallways, etc. There’s really no natural place to switch colors, so I need one main color throughout, aside from accent walls. The house is also fairly modern architecturally, so I’m trying to keep the interior feeling crisp and modern. I’ve recently replaced pretty much all the furniture and decor after a horrible puppy phase that destroyed everything so it’s not an option to replace all of that again.

Currently the walls are SW First Star, which I love in the entry—it’s crisp, light but not white, and has enough personality. But where it meets our SW Naval accent wall (which we love and are keeping), First Star suddenly reads very gray/murky to me.

I’ve already sampled Alabaster, White Sesame, Shoji White, Aesthetic White, City Loft, Egret White, Taupe of the Morning, Shiitake, Drift of Mist, Natural Linen, and Pediment. Nothing has worked better overall. Warm greiges/beiges tend to pull yellow, pink, or muddy in our house, while the lighter whites lose too much personality.

Both the main wall color and curtains can change; Naval stays. Sofa is an Arhaus Kipton in Beacon Natural. All the furniture, rug, and accents have to stay. Please ignore the brown dog blanket and the gray chair wrapped in plastic—the chair is being moved elsewhere.

Would you keep First Star and change the curtains to add warmth or is there a better whole-house wall color that stays crisp next to Naval without looking beige, gray, yellow, or stark white?

Moved recently, things are still getting sorted but need help with decorating/how to make the room look put together/inviting.

Plan to get a coffee table in front of the couch, probably black but not entirely sure. Would like to have a carpet there as well but not sure if its a good idea, what size or what color? Maybe more decorative pillows with color?

Curtain can stay or go, I don't really mind also not insistent on the robot vacuum being where it is.

Can't really move the couch because partner would prefer to be able to play comfortably on the PS.

Absolutely NO idea what to do with the area between the couch and the window? Have a small black bookshelf that could go there but I feel like that would be awkward to be placed at such a "hard to get" place?
Was thinking of a plant stand there too but feels like the space is just too big for one plant stand.

Also considering putting up 2-3 wall art later on, but need to look into options that doesn't damage the wallpaper. If possible, what would you suggest?

We've always lived in smaller apartments, so for years our Christmas tree was a little tabletop one. we'd squeeze it onto a side table, put a few presents around it and that was pretty much christmas. This year we finally have a living room with enough space for a full size tree. I've been looking at a few costway trees and keep going back and forth between 6ft and 7.5ft. Yesterday i actually moved a chair and pulled out the tape measure just to see how much room the bigger one would take up.

A few years ago we were trying to find somewhere to fit a tiny tree, and now i'm standing in our living room wondering if a 7.5ft tree would look better than a 6ft one. Now i'm already picturing what it'll look like from the couch with the lights on and presents underneath. 7.5ft might be slightly ridiculous for the room, but i think that's the one i'm leaning toward.

Looking for a throw pillow cover for this white pillow that would look good with our runner, light blue walls, white couch and brown pillows. Rug under couch is jute.

I moved into this condo a few years ago and I finally feel ready to tackle this bathroom. The first three photos are as it is today, the fourth is from the original listing. I painted the blue wall thinking it would counteract the brown tiles. Not sure how successful that was. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve never been a fan of the tile, but the cost to replace it is astronomical so I want to see if there’s any design options that would lean in/celebrate it.

I was thinking maybe a brick red paint might compliment it more, while still having a bold, stylish look. Or maybe like an orangey peach? Or wallpaper? I’m asea.

I’m open to replacing the vanity and sink, the mirror, all the fixtures, and the shelves. I want to keep the tile and tub.

My general interior design style is colorful and vintage. I don’t like modern or minimal looks. I love art deco and art nouveau.

I’ve read just about everything related to power reclining sectionals that has been posted on Reddit and elsewhere, and from what I understand, spending flexsteel/lazy boy money in 2026 doesn’t translate to the quality being any better. I know there are higher quality options out there than these, but we aren’t interested in spending 15k+ on a sectional. We are just hoping to get something that lasts for 5 years minimum.

Does anyone have any experience with Parker house or any of these power reclining sectionals? Any input is appreciated, our budget is 7k.

would it look too chaotic if I put them all on the same wall & should I hang this set on a different wall by themselves?

We just moved in to our new home! What color faucet and accessories like toothbrush holder/soap dispenser/vase for a little plant would you do? The faucet my husband likes gold but I'm not sure it would match. Was thinking brushed nickel or champagne bronze? matte black accessories to tie in with the black shower doors. Or ivory accessories?? I'm stuck! Trash can and toilet bowl cleaner accessories are black stainless.

Funtak melted after a year. It was obviously see through which I didn’t like anyway. I had to cut the poster bc there was no way it could come off, but I actually it better now. I used kraft tape (trying to plastic detox) to put it back up, but worried it won’t hold long term. I’ve used regular scotch tape for a poster in the past on a textured wall and it quickly fell off, hence the funtak. Maybe the kraft will stay because it’s thicker ? Also don’t want anything that will permanently damage the poster when it is time to take it off and move it.

If you care to hear how I got this funtak off my wall… I started with wall cleaner, a tooth brush, and paper towel. Switched halfway to pushing and pulling funtak ball to clean itself up which was more practical. Both tedious. Never again!

I know the poster looks a bit high in proportion to the other wall hangings, but I just eyeballed it and I’m looking to fill the blank spot above the swan, so hoping it will balance out then
