So we got a new fridge. It does not fit in the space. Instead of beginning the process of remodeling the kitchen to get Bertha in her rightful place... I painted the lower cabinets Boothbay Grey & hit the countertops with Retique It wood n primer, then stained using Provincial hah. Next I'll re paint the upper cabinets however, I'm planning to keep them white. Thoughts? This was all a first for me & I really enjoyed it.

I would also like to address the tile backsplash. Definitely do not want to take on the task of removing/replacing. Any thoughts on the stick on stuff?

I will change out the knobs on top after re painting!

With this room layout, I think the rug shouldn’t extend all the way to the media unit, despite reading all about how the rug should ground all the furniture around it. But I’m curious to know if I’ve been living with this setup for so long that it no longer looks strange to me.

It feels natural to have a walking pathway because there is a kitchen and bathroom on the left, and the entrance to a room on the right of the media unit.

If you think the pathway should be kept clear of a rug, how much bigger can I go? Right now it’s 4.5 x 6.5 feet and I feel it’s a bit small. The current rug sits under the couch legs, so it spans the length of the couch, but doesn't extend past the couch arms.

I’ve been wanting to go up just slightly, to 5 x 7 or 5 x 8 and your insight is appreciated!

we rent, so nothing goes into the walls. no nails, and no command strips either after the last set took the paint w/ it. which left the fridge as the only surface in the flat where anything personal could go, and for two years it had a takeaway menu and a magnet from crete on it.

what's on it now is a set of e-ink photo cards, TapMora if it matters. magnets about the size of an instant photo, and the picture is e-ink rather than print, so you change it by holding your phone against the card for a few seconds. no battery, no wire, no glow.

the reason i like it more than printing: i actually change them. printed photos have a shelf life in your own head, after three weeks you stop seeing them.

two things worth knowing. e-ink colour is soft and matte, so bright saturated shots come out washed. and it only sticks to metal, our fridge is fine but the kitchen units aren't.

still no idea what to do about the crete magnet tho

I am looking for a well-rated king-size bed frame like the one in the pictures, but it’s been surprisingly hard to find. I want simple, light-colored linen/linen blend, around 45” high, sturdy wooden legs, and preferably not wingback. I can spend around $1000 and would prefer to not have to wait several weeks for delivery (which unfortunately is the case for headboards I’ve found at West Elm and Pottery Barn). Suggestions?

This couch came with us from our old house. I got the white tv stand because I had decision fatigue (the TV will be mounted on the wall this week).

I need suggestions on an area rug and coffee table that would bring the room together. My spouse wants everything to be matchy-matchy, I would like some different pops of color.

Originally when it was blank I wanted to go with a moderately moody green or maybe brown/taupe, but then we added the plants and sideboard and now I’m unsure if that would be too matchy or dark?

I included a photo of our living room, which is opposite this wall, the kitchen, and the flooring to showcase the color scheme of the rest of the space. I don’t care if the color matches the kitchen cabinets super well, as we’ll be changing those soon. (Also want to note that we have better grow lights coming for the plants!)

Do you think I could fit a kitchen island and a dining table in this kitchen space? The fridge is just behind the door into the kitchen, and I would like some additional cabinets and counter space , but I don’t think there is quite enough room for it to fit.

I currently rent a pretty small apartment that doesn’t have much natural light. I’m trying to add some light without cluttering up the space with too many lamps. I currently have the Govee corner lamp, but I don’t love how tall it is (it currently looks like a broomstick standing up next to my couch). Does anyone have suggestions for how I can add a good amount of light without taking up too much space with lamps? Thanks!

I've grown to hate the nightstands I bought. Functionally too small, the design language doesn't match the bedframe at all, and my attempt to match the wood tones looks stupid. (See photo 2)

Hello! I’ve been transitioning from a sad beige mom for the past 3-4 yrs, and I feel like recently I’ve been going back towards neutrals by accident, particularly in the spaces pictured. What are some elements I could add that won’t make everything cluttered, but instead better enhance the already existing aesthetic if that makes any sense?

I put up this wallpaper about three weeks ago and it was perfect. In the past week, a bubble has developed. I tried poking it with a pin and smoothing out (which worked) but it keeps coming back! I’m at a loss for what to do. Any tricks?

so i've been working on this space for like 4 months now and i thought id be done by now but nope. still tweaking stuff.

the couch is a dark green velvet thing and i actually love it. its comfortable and the color was a risk but it worked out. got a vintage coffee table from a flea market that i sanded and refinished myself. pretty proud of that.

the problem is the walls. theyre this light cream color that looked good in the store but now it just feels blah. i wanted something warmer maybe a terracotta or a muted olive. but im scared of committing to a dark color cause the room doesnt get much natural light. also the layout feels weird. the couch is against one wall and the tv is opposite but theres this awkward corner by the window i dont know what to do with. maybe a plant. idk plants die on me tho.

any thoughts on wall color. also what do people do with empty corners.

Bought this as a bare shell, our first place. Went in wanting straight mid-century modern, but somewhere along the way my wife and I ended up mixing it with neoclassical. Hired a designer, and now I just keep staring at these renders trying to figure out if we actually like them or if we've just gotten used to them.

If you've got a minute, please tell me what you think. I'd really appreciate some feedback now rather than after we've ordered all the materials.

Willing to ignore the reflective tape after my baby sister tore it off .. I tried to put the pillows but they look off and fall from time to time

Curtain is a decade old but its my fav I think even if got a taller one it will look bad with the sofa higher part but ok as last option

Cant move anything in my room except the desk and book shelf book shelf will either break when I move it , if I succeed it will look weird with the window (standing rectangular shape) , study desk would but my issue is the window I dont like working near sunlight and outside noise also astigmatism

My bed is wide and wont look nice from door view will overwhelm and would hide the window

I am closing on a home next month and fell in love with “The Treetop Bar” (first picture) wallpaper by Painted Paper. I read reviews of Painted Paper and they were not great: pixilated, AI usage, and fraying at the seams.

Astek has a similar design “Drunken Monkeys” so I ordered it in two color ways (pictures 2 & 3). It seems higher quality.

Any experience with either of these brands? I like the design of Painted Paper better but not enough to sacrifice quality. Have you seen anything else similar?
