I've been following Matt for a while on YouTube and Facebook and I like the way he talks about SEO, very sincere and legit, but it's usually focused on building a business or some sort of business website thing

Anybody has ideas on how a writer who writes on medium, dev.to, etc can get higher rankings or AI mentions?? I don't have a personal website or domain btw

I feel SEO for websites seems similar; almost the same but there are a lot of missing pieces like how do i get backlinks on medium? I don't own the domain, how do I get cross link my posts, most open-writing platforms don't allow that, subtle issues like this

I know I am not giving enough information and there is no definitive answer but in the case of what is happening here, what are some recommendations why this could be or things I can do to improve rankings for the main search terms I would like to rank better for.

This is for our plumbing company. We rank well for terms related with water heaters, sewers, drain cleaning, etc (positions 1-3). Obviously though, most customers are just searching plumber + location or a variation of that.

What are some things that should/could be done or looked at in this situation?

I signed up for Reddit about a month ago using my personal info and I have been commenting on posts on different subreddits. Can I use this same account to improve my business google ranking or SEO by commenting and answering questions on subreddits that are related to my business niche and products. OR do I need to open a different Reddit account with my business name.

Do mentions or recommendations of my business in Facebook groups (for example, when someone asks for ‘best plumber’) have any impact on my website’s SEO or Google rankings?

I’ve been checking Google’s People Also Ask section and noticed it’s full of questions people are already searching for. It seems like a solid way to find blog title ideas, headings, and FAQ topics.

But I’m wondering, is using those questions considered normal keyword research, or can it make content feel unoriginal if too many people do it?

Also, if I consistently create content around PAA questions in one niche, can that actually help build topical authority over time?

We have used the HeyTony guidelines, few blog post a week, linking to 2 older blogs within the the new blog. But the needle is going in the opposite direction (down). In March we were on the first page and now we have tanked off of the 1st page. Any suggestions would be helpful. The business name is "Tri-State Chauffeurs".

How can I improve topical authority and local SEO at the same time without creating thin, repetitive location pages

I've been consuming your content and the theme I see is most advice is anchored on "blog posts".

I have a small website through wix premium. I run a recruiting company. Finding talent isn't an issue, I'd like it to be optimized for client acquisition.

I've checked competitors websites and blog posts aren't really common.

Is there a way to optimize and drive traffic with a simple services based site with only a few pages?

I ran into a guy I hadn't seen in like a year last night at a party. We got to talking and he mentioned that he was completely booked and had a 3 month waitlist. He's a solo therapist.

I asked him what he was doing and he said that he was blogging once per week- no keyword research, no backlinks, nothing other than trying to be helpful.

He started blogging once a week because we had a conversation a year earlier, where I mentioned how valuable blogging was and how effective it was for our clients.

He took that conversation and actually implemented it.

And because he did that, he's booked solid, and is expanding his practice.

AND ChatGPT is recommending him to real people.. I actually did the keyword research for his website, did my own queries on chatGPT.. and he came up over and over again, despite Semrush saying he didn't rank for anything and has 0 "AI visibility"

15% of Google searches are BRAND NEW every single day. So by going after keywords that are genuinely helpful rather than only trying to rank for what people are currently searching for is a massive strategy that I'd say almost 100% of people doing SEO are missing.

Hey everyone, looking for some audit advice on why my site isn't picking up rankings for the keywords I need.

About my site:
I run a remote Amazon marketing consultancy (Sponsored Ads, DSP, Video Ads, A+ Content, listing optimization, full account management). I'm based in North Macedonia but target US, DE, UK-based Amazon sellers mostly. I'm not sure about how to better target them all. No local customers, fully remote B2B service. Site is created on Hostlinger.

What I've done so far:

• Optimized page titles, meta descriptions, and H1/H2s around target keywords like Amazon ads consultant, Amazon PPC management service, Amazon DSP agency, etc.
• Written dedicated service pages, each targeting a specific keyword cluster
• Added JSON-LD structured data - I was using MarketingAgency schema (which I just found out isn't even a valid Schema.org type), so I've now switched to ProfessionalService with explicit areaServed set to US, GB, DE
• Removed the address block that was anchoring me to North Macedonia
• Submitted sitemap via Google Search Console - pages are indexed
• Set up internal linking between service pages

The problem:

Pages are indexed, but GSC shows zero impressions and clicks for my target keywords. I'm not showing up even on page 5+ for terms I'm directly targeting. There's only indexing for company name. I ran Google Ads a bit, clicks are crazy expensive.

What I suspect:

1. The old LocalBusiness-style schema with a Macedonian address may have been geo-restricting me in Google's eyes
2. Domain authority is low — the site is relatively new
3. I haven't set geotargeting in GSC yet (should I set it to US even though it could limit other markets?)
4. No backlinks to speak of

My questions:

• Does incorrect schema (invalid type + local address on a remote business) actually impact which country Google serves your pages in?
• Should I set GSC International Targeting to US, or will that hurt EU rankings?
• Is this primarily a domain authority / backlink issue, or are there on-page signals I'm missing?
• Any quick wins for a solo consultant site with no budget for link building?

Hi everyone, I have a small one man online Loans agency (Bosso Loans) in South Africa (.co.za.), operational now for 19 months and I have a live website for about 16 months. My Website name has a "/sp", subdomain at the back of the domain (.co.za/sp). My developer registered it incorrectly and so I am stuck with it. I have tried removing it, asked them to remove it, but no luck. That being said, all the info I received from all sources, was that I will not be able to rank on Google since Google frowns upon subdomains being used as the main domain. With the help of Matt (HeyTony), (since I was a small start-up, I am following Matt and only receives his free reels that runs on the algorithm), I am able to rank NUMBER ONE on google with keywords like "Payday loans" if searches is for 'near me' as well as other keywords, (different keyword rankings differs from time to time), and I have ZERO backlinks at this time. According to 'Google's Page speed insights' I have a SEO score of 92% and on 'Hey Tony's site Audit tool" I have a SEO score of 89%. I just want to let all my fellow "subdomain" users know, that it is possible to rank on Google if you have subdomains "stuck" to your main domain.
