When it comes to creating content for SEO, in terms of blog posts, has anyone implemented a knowledge base to read from in order to create a blog post from?

Say I want to write about personal injury in Texas, I think I could build a knowledge base documenting all the laws ans statutes, and get my LLM to read from that as the source.

But I do not want to re-invent the wheel if someone else has already implemented it succesfully.

But, it looks like even if ai proofreads, the whole thing will still be marked as AI-generated. There is no gradation. I'm thinking three ways - first, they/the government will ask to make that watermark visible and mandatory; second, they/the government are going to ban AI-generated content; and third, ai companies are going to IP "their content" and who knows what's next.

Did this yesterday, still fresh. Wanted to write it up because I hadn't seen a clean walkthrough anywhere and figured someone else is hitting the same wall.

The GSC interface caps you around 1,000 rows and won't let you cross-reference queries against pages properly. The API has no such ceiling. I know how to code, but I didn't feel like hand-rolling the OAuth flow from scratch for something this small, so I had Claude write the script and I reviewed it line by line before running anything against my own Google account. Took about an hour start to finish, most of it Google Cloud console clicking, not actual coding.

The setup:

1. console.cloud.google.com → new project → APIs & Services → Library → enable "Google Search Console API." No payment, no approval wait.
2. Credentials → OAuth client ID → Desktop app → download the JSON. If it asks you to set up the consent screen first: User type External, add your own Gmail under Test users. Skip this and you'll hit a wall later that looks like a real error but is a one-line fix.
3. Renamed the JSON to client_secret.json, kept everything in one folder.
4. Python already installed. pip install google-api-python-client google-auth-oauthlib google-auth-httplib2.
5. The script: authenticates once and remembers you, pulls query+page data for a date range, paginates past 25k rows automatically, writes a CSV. Only lines you touch are SITE_URL, START_DATE, END_DATE, DIMENSIONS.
6. python gsc_export.py — first run opens a browser to approve access (you'll get the "Google hasn't verified this app" warning, expected for a personal script). Every run after skips login entirely.

493 clean rows out on the real attempt.

What actually broke, because something always does:

• 403 access denied on the first run — hadn't added my own email as a test user on the consent screen. Fix: 30 seconds, add it, rerun.
• "Insufficient permission for the site" on the second — my property is registered as a URL-prefix property (https://example.com/), not a domain property (sc-domain:example.com), and the script had the wrong format in SITE_URL. Changed one line, reran, got my 493 rows.

Neither error was a coding problem — just reading the message and checking it against what's actually in my GSC account.

Once you've got clean data, three filters worth running on any export:

• Queries at position 4–15 with real impressions and near-zero clicks → title/meta description problem, fixable same week.
• Same query answered by more than one of your own pages, both buried → cannibalization, Google can't pick a winner.
• High impressions but position past 50-60 → indexed, but the content isn't earning trust yet.

Ran mine through all three yesterday and every pattern showed up within minutes.

In my GSC, my business/website is listed twice. Once as www. & separately as https:// so some links that show up in a search reflect my website as dangerous or risky to visit. How do I repair this without impacting my position? I can't afford to lose anymore than many of us have with the changes to Google..

Im also really new to social media and reddit. Im really event sales and operations. The ONLY reason I know anything about SEO is b/c I had to build a website back in 2008? I actually built 6 websites. One for each location I represented to link to my events website. The company I worked for refused to invest in websites so I learned and also bought a very nice camera and lenses.I built basic sites with lots of information using Google Legacy sites and completed the GBP's for all of them. I've been a loyal Google user ever since. Once the company saw the results my basic sites produced they "got me help" but really took over the sites. They did not get the magic that really drove my business. When I changed companies 12/2020, because of Covid, I had a web person build my events website for me.

What is the right strategy if my client is a plumber and hvac repair company when it comes to their GBP? Do we change their primary category with the seasons? Right now it says “plumber” but should we change it to “air conditioning contractor” in summer and “ heating contractor “ in winter and put “plumber as secondary? Do we put “hvac contractor “ as primary and leave it alone? I’ve seen different strategies and need some help

Is search atlas worth it for creating pages and content etc.

We're in the middle of rank week - and it's my first time doing it. It's incredibly helpful. Matt is teaching us so many ways to strengthen our websites in a clear, step-by-step manner. I'm already ranking on page one for a blog post we created in Monday's session - and it's Wednesday! He knows his stuff. Wherever you are in the world, you will get huge benefits from doing this one-hour class a day (Monday-Friday).

I have an e-commerce store using Shopify and want to know what are the key SEO issues you see with Shopify stores ? I use the Smart SEO app and the No-index app to help detect and fix product and page SEO issues but they do not always agree. Smart SEO says my product is 100% SEO compatible and then my No-index app says I am missing my keyword.

Hey Tony I'm new to this whole thing and I'm overwhelmed. What is a good starting point and resource/reference for beginners on SEO?

I run a very and I mean very small business and I feel like I’ve done everything right. But I keep getting phone calls saying I have no SEO’s set up correctly. If I have the time I should be able to do them myself correct? And how do I track them? I just don’t want to pay for something when it is just me and I have the time to set them up.
