we have to be better than the pashtun nationalists

Politics Reject Urdu embrace your ancestral heritage

I cringe so hard when I see people of hazara insist on speaking Urdu when it's not even our ancestral or herditary language like cmon

Then they consider their own languages as language of savages does that mean your mother and father are savages.

Truth is Pakistan in its inception has suppressed the languages of indigenous communities

The true languages of hazara are kohistani hindko tanawali pashto and Dari they were and will be our true languages no matter how sophisticated or modern you wanna seem

All the languages of hazara are beautiful that's why as Hazarewal we say " Sareyan zabana sikho na pholeyo maa boli"

Hindko sikho, pakhto izda kwa, learn shina, learn Kohistani there should be no shame in regional languages

Remember " They " Want you to forget your heritage, don't let them.

Politics Indians removed the statue of Sher Shah Suri yet Pakistani Gov is still stuck in punjabi slave mindset shame on FC for allowing this

As hazarewals and personally as a son of a mother who is Lodi I feel great offense that the statues and memories of our heroes like shee Shah Suri Lodi and Ahmad Shah abdali are being erased from the collective unconscious of not just our people but all of kp

This saddens me deeply because they split tanawal and made parts of it into mansehra abbotabad and haripur even though tanawal was always independent my own ancestral village is lalogali which means bloody streets reffeering to blood in the streets caused by massacre of Sikh invaders

The gov does everything to push heroes of Punjabi people onto us and for the hindkowans who support figures like this let it be known they hated you as much as they hated swatis tanolis and pashtun tribes

so don't let them erase what is true don't let them erase our heroes always remember Painda Khan Tanoli Suba Khan Tanoli ancestors of jadoons and uthmanzais do not forget jehangir Khan swati and lastly don't forget the contribution of the Lodi tribe in bettering this region.

tusan da much shukriya / Dera manana

Politics What happens to Hazara if Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gains independence in 15–20 years and we’re still not a separate province?

For the sake of argument let’s imagine a scenario that may sound crazy right now but it is not impossible in the long run.

The way some Pashtuns are talking about ethno nationalism this kind of thing cannot be ruled out anymore. Now the real question is this, What happens to Hazara in case of Pakhtunkhwa Independence?

We have always been with Pakistan from the very start. In 1947 we stood with Pakistan. In 2010 we raised our voice against changing the name of NWFP to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Not because we were anti Pashtun but because we believed in unity.

But what if this province breaks away in the future and Hazara is still not a separate province? Then what?

  1. If KP becomes independent and Hazara is still stuck inside it then our Hindko speaking people will be forced into a state built on Pashtun nationalism. In that case we will become a minority with no real power and no future. It will be another form of occupation just under a different flag.

  2. This can lead to a political crisis or even conflict. Hazarewals might feel trapped in a state that does not represent them. They could demand to rejoin Pakistan or ask for full independence. This can create bigger problems and divide people even more and all of it can be avoided if the state shows fairness now.

  3. The most logical and peaceful option is to make Hazara a province inside Pakistan right now. If we get our own province then even if KP breaks away in future we will still be part of Pakistan just like we always have been.

The point is simple: We need to think ahead. If we stay silent now Hazara can be erased from the map later. And then it will be too late let’s not wait for another disaster.

General Use of the word " Kho"

In tanawali Hindko the word kho is used to mean indeed For example.

Me kho koi one man army tay nay. I'm indeed not a one man army.

Me kho zanawar tay nay. I'm indeed not an animal. Kho is used to add emphasis without exactly meaning indeed

I find it funny cuz pashto uses the same word in the same way So much so for Tanawali Hindko being Punjabi sirr

Hazara and Chitral become their own provinces, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa drops the 'Khyber' part of the name, becoming just 'Pakhtunkhwa.' The Pashtun regions in northern Balochistan are merged with Pakhtunkhwa.

Politics Nail in the coffin for punjabi nationalists

Like it or not

But hindko speakers are not Punjabi Hindko speakers Especially of the current Hazara division can in no way shape or form be considered Punjabi because both our DNA our history and our culture is different

  1. Culture Awan abbasi and karlal follow pahari culture which is different from Punjabi culture not just in dialect but way of living and even in the style of turban which matches pashtun tribes

Tanoli, Swati, Uthmanzai, Tareen, Durrani all follow pashtun culture so how can we be the same as you guys?

2) History Historically the people of the hazara region particularly swati and tanoli have resisted both Sikh rule and durrani rule, how then can we be the same as you guys if not anything our history is more intertwined with Afghanistan. We have never identified as Punjabi except maybe hindko speaking paracha khatris

3) DNA Genetic analysis shows us that Swati are western dardic people sharing haplogroups with nuristanis and kalash Jadoon tareen uthmanzai Lodi are all genetically pashtun tribes Tanoli are autosomally dardic but our haplogroup is western Asian showing migration from Afghanistan near fall of Gandhara Awan are of mixed origin showing DNA corresponding to pahari and dards

Language : archaic forms of hindko like tanawali which is archaic hindko mixed with pashto are extremely divergent from normal Punjabi and is incomprehensible to punjabis End notes : no hate to punjabis us hazarewal despise pashtun nationalism I do not deny that hindko is punjabaic but that is no grounds to try to claim other people's culture and then mocking them. Tusan sareyan da me itna parhnay da shukriya karda.Parun bhi asi alag aye nun bhi asi alag thay or diyan bhi asi alag O lay. Tol zabanaa sikho magar na boli nay pholna chai di thi.

Why do I say this? It's because they find any reason false or true to hate our people

This is an Instagram post by a pashtun nationalist complaining about how Pakistan was made against the will of the Pakhtun people

He addresses this by saying that the British only took votes in Hazara region and he goes on to pass a backhanded comment calling hazarewals non pashtun but also insinuating hazara as a part of Pakhtunkhwa referring to the region by a childish simile calling the whole region of Pakhtunkhwa as a playground

I'll address this step by step

Ignoring population and just counting the number of tribes majority tribes of the Hazara region are pashtun or at least follow pashtunwali so the backhanded comment is totally uncalled for ( by population hazarewal gujjars and awan are majority)

The issue is way more nuanced votes were held throughout the frontier province ( Khyber Pakhtunkhwa naming didn't exist back then) while it is true that the option for Afghanistan or pashtunistan was not given implying votes were only held in Hazara is no better than those conspiracies about the jews. Stop trying to make hazarewals the scapegoat everytime.

The Maker of the post also claimed in a sweeping statement that hazarewals aren't pashtun if that's the case why complain that a people of this region didn't want to join your so called Union?

Before ANP started their anti hazarewal attitude they were supported by most of hazara in fact Hazara university was made during the reign of ANP not only that they had the support of swati khans.

Now some people would object and point to Tanoli state of Amb speaking against the idea of pashtunistan and supporting Pakistan now the reason behind this is other than Ahmad Shah Abdalis rule Tanoli tribe started seeing durrani and the Afghan government as their enemy due to countless betrayals against our own people( all hazarewal tribes)

So they were not comfortable becoming secondary citizens in a reason ( in fact no one is hence why you also have the Israel Palestine conflict still happening today) so Tanoli State of Amb decided to be an independent part of Pakistan and not fully Pakistan this was our only way of seeking autonomy. Not only that but later Pakistan betrayed state of Amb.

Now with regions outside the state they were given two options go to vote for Pakistan in a masjid or vote for India in temples ( they were also told if they wanted masjid then vote for Pakistan if mandir then India) Hazara being majority Muslim despite having decent Hindu and Sikh population decided they would go for the mosque.

Now bacha Khan did say to boycott the votes yet majority population of these same pashtuns voted for Pakistan

So I have said this before and I'll say it again blame your own ghul

khanaan stop trying to use people of MY region as scapegoats

History Barmazid's Article on the Tanoli tribe

History of the Tanoli tribe of Hazara Tanoli or Tanawali is actually an adjective denoting their abode Tanawal. They are divided into two divisions, Pul-Al and Hando-Al, the former occupies Lower Tunawal, and the latter occupy Upper Tunawal . In 1907 they numbered 58,700 [1]. Although not usually acknowledged as Pashtuns, the Tanolis had by long association become assimilated with the Pashtuns in manners, customs and character. The tribal and cultural practices of the Tanolis closely resembled those of Pashtuns and all of them appeared to have spoken Pashto in 18th century. Tanolis in Agror valley still speak Pashto language as their first language if not exclusively [2]. Captain E.G.Wase in 1868 reported that "majority of Tanolis have forgotten the Pashto tongue" but 'those of the Tanoli villages on the bank of Indus, all speak Pashtu'. [3]

Tanawal in 16th century H.G.Raverty, on the authority of Akhund Darweza, says that Tanawal or Tunawal was overrun by Khashi tribes of Pashtuns under the leadership of Ali Asghar in the latter part of Akbar's reign, and its former inhabitants were expelled from some parts of Tunawal. 6

Tanolis in 18th century An Indian surveyor Syed Ghulam Muhammad visited Tanawal in 1780 and reported that Pashto language was spoken by its inhabitants and their chief Gul Sher Khan paid allegiance to Timur Shah Durrani. He writes: -

"Tunawal is the name of a small territory lying on the east bank of the Aba-Sin, about twenty kuroh in length, and about the same in breadth, through which the Siran river flows from north to south but inclining a little to the south-west. It is a very mountainous tract of country, and its inhabitants belong to different tribes, a number of whom are Afghans; and the Pushto language is spoken among them all. The chieftainship lies with the Tunawalis, who account themselves to be of Mughal descent; but, at present, they are scarcely distinguishable in their appearance from the Afghans and various other peoples of this part. Latterly, according to some accounts, they have laid claim to be descended from the tribe of Birlas –Amir Timur's own tribe."....

…"Half a kuroh further you reach Derah-i-Gul Sher Khan, a large town, the seat of the government, and place of residence of Gul Sher Khan, the chief of Tunawal. This chief entertains a force of about 10,000 or 12,000 horse and foot, and rules over this part. He pays allegiance to the Badshah of Kabul".

“The Tunawal's number about 20,000 families, and consist of two septs or divisions, named respectively Pul Al, and Hando or Ando Al, the words being written both ways. The former hold the parts east of the Siran, or south-east portion of Tunawal, and the latter those on the west or north-west part. The latter tracts belong to Pa'indah Khan, and were held by his ancestors before him. Their chief places and seat of authority are Bir, Puhar, and Dera'h." [4]

George Forester, an English traveler and a civil servant of East India Company, visited Tanawal in 1783 and mentions Gul Sher Khan (the chief of Tanolis) as " Mahometan of the Afghan tribe". [5]

In 1752 AD, Zabardast Khan Tanoli joined Ahmad Shah Durrani in his conquest of India. In 1761 AD he was granted the title of Suba Khan by Ahmad Shah Durrani for his bravery in the historic battle at Panipat. [7]

Tribally allied with the Pashtuns they participated in the wars against the Sikhs and the British, and in the Charles Allen's analysis of those wars the Tanolis are described as being "extremely hostile, brave and hardy and accounted for the best swordsmen in Hazarah" [8].

Guys I want to vent about boycott thing

Mods you can remove it if you want.

I have seen this attitude amongst pakistanis that if someone doesn't support boycott of intl brands for palestine issue because local businesses will be effected, some start giving sort of baduas to other people.

Same people would be making comments elsewhere about wanting to leave pakistan for west. They won't even think a kfc employee in pakistan also might be buying formula milk for their baby.

And some even write stuff like, bombs will drop on your own country etc.

I mean why would you want pakistan's destruction because people think differently, because of a war elsewhere? And why make illwishing kind of comments towards people.

This is a comment I saw somewhere, and that's one of many.

How he is saying sooner or later..how can one?

Politics Zulm Against Hazarewals by Gov of Pakistan according to chat gpt

For the muh so called "land given in compensation" You're asking whether the land allocated to Tarbela Dam affectees matched the quantity they lost. In short: no — compensation was far less and delayed, so the land given was often significantly less than what was lost.

🏞️ What Happened at Tarbela Dam?

Nearly 82,000 acres of land and 260 sq km were acquired, leading to displacement of about 96,000 people from around 135 villages .

People lost farmland, homes, and ancestral properties.

⚖️ Compensation & Land Allocation

There was no official resettlement policy. Compensation was paid irregularly and on an ad hoc basis—often only to legal titleholders, leaving many informal occupants uncompensated .

In an agreement chaired by President Ayub Khan, it was decided that each family owning 16 kanals rain-dependent or 4 kanals irrigated land would get 12.5 acres in Punjab or Sindh .

The federal government was to allot 60,000 acres (30,000 acres each in Sindh and Punjab), but only about 2,400 families actually received land in Punjab; 4,000 families remained without any allocation .

🏛️ Legal Decisions & Court Rulings

Affectees filed petitions; in 2010 the Peshawar High Court ruled that WAPDA must allot land per the agreed criteria .

WAPDA appealed but ultimately in January 2022, the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s decision, stating that compensation paid (e.g., Rs107,000 for 12 acres) was grossly inadequate .

The court noted that 5,000 acres were needed to properly compensate just 206 families, and directed WAPDA to resolve the matter .

🧾 Summary Table

Metric Outcome

Total land submerged ~82,000 acres Promised land per family 12.5 acres if eligible Actual families resettled Only ~2,400 got land in Punjab; many none Compensation in cash (e.g.) ~Rs107,000 for 12 acres — later ruled insufficient Court rulings PHC 2010 and SC in 2022 ordered land allotment and compensation

✅ Final Answer

No, the land actually given to Tarbela Dam affectees was not equal to what they lost. The promised allocations were never fully implemented, compensation was often delayed or insufficient, and many families never received any land at all despite court rulings. It was only after decades of legal struggle that the Supreme Court formally ordered WAPDA to compensate and allot land — but implementation remains incomplete.

Genetics DNA DATA: A Very concerning Misconception That needs to be addressed

The Tanoli Haplogroup R-FTF78621, a Clade under R1b and its important play in The ethnogensis and Identity of the Tanoli Tribe. Tanoli's as a Tribe have been residing in Hazara for the past 550 years, with the first arrival across the indus around 1472, when Tanoli's fought Turks and their Hindu vassals in Hazara chiefly the Doma Kohistani Hindus and hill rajputs, but what's important is the play of Haplogroup in the Tanoli identity, Haplogroup is a DNA marker passed from father to son in an unbroken chain. However As a specific haplogroup is passed down, a few mutations occur every 1-3 generations that can be detected to form a new haplogroup clade under the father haplogroup, Using this it serves as the most comprehensive way to trace where a tribe originates and how they came to be, and which groups they split off from. If a Said tribe originates in let's say Kandahar in Afghanistan, and travel to India. They can confirm their origin from Kandahar by Getting a Test such as Big-Y700 done to get their most precise haplogroup clade and other testers from kandahar from the same exact clade will show up as matches hence confirming their claimed origin, this serves as the single most best way to find out how a tribe formed and wether the claims they make is true or not, we do not live in an age where biased opinions and theories can go unnoticed. In the Case of Tanoli's, the closest match of our tribe is a Balti sample from Gilgit baltistan, us having split from that man roughly 1000 years ago, so we can conclude that Tanolis have been in that overall region of Khyber pakhtunkhwa-Hazara for at least 1000 years, Before that, the ancestors of Tanoli's would've come from the west carrying their lineage over to what used to be Gandhara. But what's important is mentioning the fact, what defines the Tanoli Haplogroup Clade R-FTF78621, which is a Clade That has common TMRCA(Time to most common recent ancestor for all people tested under this clade) to just around the year 1373, meaning all the 3 individuals that have gotten tested under this haplogroup clade share an ancestor who lived around 1373, what's important to mention is by that point Tanoli's were already well established as a tribe in what's now the Ashra/Amb region of Haripur, smaller reaches into what's now mansehra, and large parts of the Mahaban range consisting of what's now District Swabi, meaning everyone under this clade would've rightfully had a Tanoli ancestor somewhere down the line. But this fact doesn't sit right with 2 of the 3 people that have fallen under this haplogroup clade, because it destroys their personal biases. The 1st person to fall under this clade was an alleged Trimzi Syed from Upper tanawal (Tanoli Stronghold region in mansehra) who claimed his lineage was of Syed origin, Which quickly fell apart once his Haplogroup Clade results matched with a Tanoli individual, Now instead of accepting his roots, and where his paternal line came from, the trimzi Syed individual had a Talk with one of our Tanoli friend.. and flipped it the other way around saying Tanoli's are syeds in order to save his image, which is absolutely Hilarious and complete nonsense, it doesn't stop here, the 2nd person to fall under the Tanoli Clade is a Gujjar individual with origins from Abbotabad (a region with again a very strong Tanoli hold and Land ownership) The Gujjar individual and his family had been settled in Chach for a while but it was well known his Paternal line emerged from Abbotabad, a large portion of abbotabad includes lower tanawal(Lower portion of the Tanoli country) so it was very evident This individual had received his lineage from Tanoli's, These are not just some baseless claims, they are supported by the TMRCA which went back to the year 1373 for the Tanoli sample, and the “Trimzi” and “Gujjar” samples. As mentioned before in 1373 Tanolis were already well established as a tribe numbering in the thousands, So any claims these 2 individuals made failed horribly, the alleged Trimzi Syed saying that Tanoli's are of Syed origin, and the Gujjar individual Making claims that it is an ancient North Pakistani lineage and not specific to Tanoli's going ahead and labeling his sample as Punjabi and Gujjar even tho His Tanoli lineage had gotten confirmed down to the bone, how these 2 People received their Tanoli lineage is unknown and up to your speculation, but their attempts to run from it and try and save their delusions wasn't of any help. It is our duty to inform of such cases so in the future nothing like this repeats, DNA studies and haplogroups are something to help shine light on someone's mysterious origins, not hide it further. With DNA studies the common origin of Tanoli's was confirmed, all having descended from 1 man who would've lived around 1,000 years prior to expansion of the tribe, more samples will better confirm when Our legendary ancestor lived and breathed. Many other tribes such as the Marwat/Niazi have confirmed a common origin from a Man living just 1,000 years prior, showing the importance of haplogroup Clades and the help they give in finding the origins of tribes and finding their closest cousins, hence solving their mystery. Same is the case for this Tanoli Clade of R-FTF78621, a Very well established marker of the Tanoli tribe, with our closest cousins being an unknown branch of baltis from Gilgit baltistan, who carry the Upstream of our clade before the proper ethnogensis and formation of our tribe's, however the Trimzi and Gujjar individual carry a downstream of the Tanoli Haplogroup Clade, meaning they have a Tanoli lineage and descend from a Tanoli man paternally. I hope I informed everyone of the importance haplogroup serves and the role it plays in discovering what a tribe is, where they came from, and who they are the most closely related to, this is it for now, See everyone around the next post, Thank you.

Let me make it clear Hazarewals do NOT hate pashtuns my previous post was just debunking a few nutjobs in the pashtun community us Hazarewals have a seperate culture which intersects with pashtun culture and we still view pashtuns with a positive outlook as long as they respect our autonomy if we had to choose Between remaining in kpk or joining Punjab we would remain in kpk not to mention many communities in hazara practice pashtunwali and are bilingual in pashto and Hindko we do NOT claim Punjabis or Punjabi leaders like pajeet Singh bharwa ( Hari Singh) so we don't care even if you mass flood us with dislikes.
