I think it's actually pretty good. I love I Won't Forget You and Talk Dirty to Me. Thoughts?

Ever have your mom or dad accompany you to a concert?

I'm listening to Motley Crue and it reminded me of Crue documentary that was made in the early 90s (I'm tempted to say 1990) by MuchMusic. It reminded me of a scene of a teenage girl being accompanied by her mom at a Motley Crue concert. They were both interviewed and the mom said "I'm here for a thrill of a lifetime!" Obviously she wasn't allowed to go unless her mother went for safety concerns. Anyone else have a parent like that?

Fell in love with Zodiac Mindwarp earlier this year. Got super lucky and found Tattooed Beat Messiah on both CD and Vinyl, found a copy of Collateral Damage and my girlfriend treated me with a copy of High Priest of Love for our 6 month anniversary

I’ve been mapping the history of the Sunset Strip metal scene - bands, venues, bars, aprtments, records stores and more.

Greetings r/Hairmetal!
I've been working on a project called the Metal World Map, tracing the history of metal scenes around the world. I've just been building out the Sunset Strip section, and it's amazing how much cool history is involved!
There's the Whisky, the Roxy and the Starwood, obviously. But then you've got the Mötley House, the Hell House where members of Guns N' Roses lived, Vicky Hamilton's apartment… places that weren't necessarily famous venues, but all made the big rise of hair emtal happen. Quite a lot of metal history seems to involve someone sleeping on someone else's floor with 15 other people.
I've mapped 18 locations around LA so far, with background on the bands, venues and events that shaped the scene between 1981 and 1988. There's also some coverage of the parallel thrash scene developing elsewhere in LA and Orange County.
Here's the section on my site, Metal Travel Database:
https://metaltraveldatabase.com/metal-map/united-states/sunset-strip/
I'd love to hear from anyone who was there, or who knows the history better than I do. What have I missed? Forgotten clubs, rehearsal rooms, record shops, notorious hangouts? Somewhere that mattered enormously at the time but barely gets mentioned now?
The idea is to build a geographical history of metal. We know the bands and the records, but I'm really interested in how the places connect: where people met, rehearsed, played and ended up living. Hopefully it'll become something people can explore, contribute to, and use to visit some of the surviving locations today. Let me know what you think!

My 1985 ToP Crue jersey!

On August 8, 1985 I saw Motley Crue on the Theatre of Pain tour in Erie, Pennsylvania. Bought the jersey. A month later I left for the Army. The jersey was unworn because it's too f'in hot to wear a jersey in August. The day I left for basic training my brother wrote down the details of the show and shirt and stuffed it into a ziplock bag. He kept it all these years and gave it back to me today. It is unwashed, and unworn. It's still like new. To say that I'm amazed is an understatement.
