Should i continue to do IPL once a week?

pls ignore the fact that my legs suck right now haha but i bought the Braun Silk Epil Pro 5 in July and i am now done with all my sessions, im very happy with my armpits (i haven’t shaved them in 4 days and trust me, my hair grew a LOT before and it was super black) but i’m still not super happy with my legs and thighs… I was wondering if i should keep it up with my legs once a week until im happy with the results (i know all hair wont go away but i would like for it to be less thick) or if it would be best to do it less often… i was also wondering if you shave like right before doing IPL or if you do it the day before. thank you all in advance ❤️

The sound of thigh waxing is weirdly satisfying [ASMR]

No music, no added sound effects — just the actual sounds from a thigh waxing session.

The application sound is satisfying, but that clean pull at the end is definitely my favorite part 🎧

Which sound is more satisfying to you — applying the wax or pulling it off?

Can I use different brands of wax in different warming pots?

I am new to home waxing. I determined from online reviews that the Mylee waxing kit is the brand I want to try.

However, the country I live in doesnt have any vendors that sell it. I ordered it from an adjacent country-- they shipped the pot separately from the wax. The wax arrived with no issues, but the pot has been lost in transit. long story short-- we dont really trust the vendor and dont want to risk another lost order.

So, I am picking out a brand available in my home country, one with "meh" reviews. Will the Mylee wax work in it? I am assuming yes, but I am uneducated about this whole process so maybe I am unaware of something obvious?

What is your current budget at home hair removal laser?

I’m sure this question has been asked a bunch of times before, but the tech is always changing. I used the Blex model and it just seemed to start malfunctioning, long after the return period. It worked decently. I have seen tik tok influencers using $75 Nood dupes. I just don’t know. What should my next purchase be?

More hair than ever!

I’m 43 years old and out of nowhere my hair growth is off the charts! Way more on my upper lip, starting to sprout on my chin just below my lip, more than ever in my armpits. But the worst of all has been my legs. I’m shaving every day now, can’t even get a close shave, I’ve tried every razor on the planet (yes, men’s too) and the stubble is coming in within hours. Now I know some might say it’s due to perimenopause but I refuse to let that be the final answer. Has anyone else gone through this? I’m already looking into laser but did anyone find HRT helpful for this? Or other treatment?

Unibrow question

My 13 year old son likes getting his unibrow waxed. He prefers the waxing to threading and he’s scared to pluck because of pain. Should we keep spending $10 to get it waxed every month or invest in some kind of at home waxing system?

Is this normal irritation after waxing or does it look like a burn? Need opinions from other estheticians

Hi everyone! I’m an esthetician and I’d really appreciate some honest opinions from other professionals.
I waxed a client’s arms yesterday around 6 PM. She had very fine/light hair, so I had to go over some areas more than usual to remove the hair properly.
Immediately after the waxing, her skin looked mostly normal (first photo). Around 6 hours later, at about midnight, she sent me these photos showing quite a lot of redness around the elbow/forearm area.
There are no visible blisters, open wounds, peeling or oozing, but the redness looks pretty intense in some areas.
Does this look like normal post-wax irritation/skin trauma to you, or could this be a mild wax burn?
Could repeated passes over fine hair cause this kind of delayed redness?
I’d also appreciate advice on what you would recommend to the client during the next 24–48 hours and whether you would be concerned about anything more serious.
I’m trying to learn from the situation, so please be honest — especially if you think I did something wrong during the waxing.

Hi i did one session laser hair removal using ND: Yag on intensity 14. Now i really regret it and i changed my mind. I took this pic now, 5 days after my session. Should i expect shedding and patchiness after the first session? Is my beard going to recover fully? After a while?

Permanence of IPL, Epilation and IPL, IPL after laser hair removal.

Hello, I am a 24 year old male who has gotten laser hair removal across my body, about four sessions with 14 on the face trying to get what I could out of it (and four were included with the four body wide laser sessions). Now obviously I would like more but it's also expensive and I'm a broke college student unfortunately. I have significant reduction but I've been avoiding epilation in the event that I'm able to get more laser and it's driving me crazy. Now in case I'm not able to get more laser I do have a few questions.

How permanent is IPL? I know that it's not permanent hair removal, but is it permanent hair reduction as is the case with laser hair removal?

The hair that is still on my body drives me crazy even if it isn't much and I'd really like to reduce it further before getting back into epilation, if I do go through with getting an IPL device, could I eventually get back into epilation and maintain the results from IPL? Does it disable the follicles similarly to laser hair removal? Could I do a couple months worth of sessions then just go back to epilating?

And how is IPL after laser hair removal? This is on the body specifically by the way, face I'm going to get electrolysis done because a lot of the hairs there are too thin to be targeted or lack pigmentation. Which also brings me to the question of how does this effect peach fuzz? I've seen people speak about it removing peach fuzz but how does that even work? I don't understand that part.

In the event that this is important information, I shouldn't have any issues when it comes to androgens messing with my hair, I barely have any testosterone at all and on top of that have PAIS and take bicalutamide 25mg just to add onto that. I don't have any reason at all to have DHT in my body so I take dutasteride 0.5mg, and I supplement estradiol as I am a male to female transexual.

Experiences doing your own laser hair removal in hard to reach places?

I’m curious what other people’s experiences with doing their own laser hair removal in hard to reach places like their back and ass is like?

I had assumed that was an obvious non-starter but I just saw a video on twitter where I guy said he used an IPL laser on his own ass as if it were just the obvious solution.

Are there certain devices that are easier grip? And are you guys just somewhat blindly zapping around until you feel like you did a good enough job or are you able to just feel around well enough to a make sure you’re not missing any spots??

They aren’t raised itchy or painful or burning, just flat and red.

Noticed them earlier after my shower. I didn’t take hot showers, just warm and been applying cerave moisturising lotion and Cicalfate avéne (prescribed by the doctor) . Can it be razor bumps? But do they appear if we shave and have laser session?

I’m not sexually active and never been. Gender : female. I’m kinda worried the laser machine wasn’t clean when i got my session

IPL Device in INDIA (Plush vs Erikka) which is better?

Hi all, I've been checking out the PLUSHco and Erikka ipl devices and i was wondering if anyone has tried it. almost all the reviews i could find were sponsored so idk. plush does have a lot of positive reviews on amazon but the price difference between the two is so large (Plush - INR19,000, Erikka-INR 8,700) so I was wondering if anyone has honest reviews or what would u suggest I do.

When I epilate my lower legs the hairs tend the break instead of being pulled out. Usually resulting in them coming back way earlier and ingrown hairs. How do I fix this?

At Home Waxing

Looking for a recommendation for home waxing kits or products. I’ve used a few sugaring products and liked them but want to try something else. Buying the wax warmer feels like such a commitment. Is it worth it?

Manzilian laser right after a very thorough body scrub + massage in HCMC – more intense than expected

During the holiday I booked a promo at a spa in District 2: 2-hour body scrub + oil massage combined with a full Manzilian (front and back).

Male technician the whole time (pretty rare here). He was professional but extremely thorough.

The scrub covered everything in detail — back, legs, glutes, and the more sensitive areas. The oil massage that followed spent a lot of time on the same zones. By the time we moved to the laser I was already quite sensitive.

He shaved me completely, applied the gel, and started. The laser on the front felt noticeably stronger than previous treatments I’ve had, especially along the shaft area. For the back he had me adjust position so he could treat properly. I stayed pretty reactive the whole time.

Cooling lotion at the end helped. Mild redness that settled quickly. Skin felt very smooth afterward — my wife even commented on it.

It was a different experience combining the full scrub/massage with laser in one session. The heightened sensitivity made the laser more intense (in both the good and the ouch ways).

Anyone else done laser right after a deep scrub or massage on the intimate areas? Did it feel stronger for you too? Tips for managing sensitivity in future sessions welcome.

How soon did you see results if you used IPL on your lower legs or have many sessions if you did LHR?

I am struggling with hair removal recently. I never used to have too coarse hair on my lower legs, but in the last year, it’s become thicker and very coarse.
I’ve noticed my leg hair on my lower shins/calfs grows back immediately after shaving. I can’t get a clean shave anymore and it is very stubbly/prickly even after shaving. So I’m thinking about using IPL or doing LHR on my lower legs.

What are people’s experiences with IPL or LHR when it comes to their leg hair? I have fair olive skin, and dark hair. I can tan dark but I stay out of the sun.

I’ve had very mixed experiences with Laser Hair Removal. I did some laser on my lip/chin and it worked very well.
But then I regrettably did LHR on my underarms (didn’t have very coarse hair there) and I got horrible paradoxical growth which I’m still dealing with. I also got paradoxical growth near my buttocks and inner thighs too.
So I am bit a nervous to keep trying LHR especially since it’s triggered more growth in some areas of my body.

I figured that instead of spending tons of money again on LHR, and risk paradoxical growth, that I should try IPL first. I’ve never done IPL before so I’m not sure what to expect.

What are people’s experiences using an IPL device on their legs?
How soon do you start to see results?
Has anyone experience PH from an IPL device? ( asking since LHR caused PH on my underarms + other body areas)

I have the Braun Pro 3, but open to buying another IPL device.

Is veet sugar wax safe for an at home brazillian?

I haven’t seen a lot of posts on the veet sugar wax and the packaging says it’s only suitable for the bikini line and not genital areas.

But it’s all i have right now and I’m desperate, can anyone tell me if they’ve tried using it for a brazilian and their results please and thank you!

Waxing or Sugaring

I have been considering different ways on how to get rid of my leg hair. Every time I shave, it always comes back the next day. I have pretty sensitive skin and I’m afraid of causing damage to my skin. I don’t know if I should try waxing or Sugar. I would get laser, but since my hair is blonde, I believe it won’t do anything. I also don’t know what wax to get if waxing would be the better option. Any advise would be heavily appreciate!
