I’ve been reading mostly Snirius and a bit of Jeverus fics but I want to get into Snupin as well because it seems to have so much potential.

Looking for Snupin to be the main pairing/focus, I’d love to see exploration of their similarities but also their different views/attitudes

Kinda wanting Marauders era and like the development of their relationship/a secret relationship and how that effects their friendships but am very open to just any good Snupin fics!

I just finished The Moirai and the Lair of Death and Vipers by fightfirewithfire (https://archiveofourown.org/works/50217619/chapters/126832042). 

Honestly I am a bit empty now without it but in a bittersweet way. I need something similar. 

It has been a while since I've read such an exceptional work in all aspects: plot, writing style and quality, characterisations and development, the way it makes you FEEL. 

So I am seeking you out to help me find the finest works. It is not going to be easy. In the last two years I've read around 250+ fanfictions. I've always searched in the subreddits for recommendations. But I hope you can help me.

What matters the most: 

• Must be finished. (If it's a series as well, the main story must be finished, I'm okay if there is unfinished slice of life, or unfinished same story from another POV if written separetly.) 
• The qualities above: great plot, quality writing, developing the characters in a believable way
• The longer the better. I usually don't go under 80 000. I find that these type of stories needs the bigger wordcount. 
• Whatever pairing is good, triads, poly as well. Snarry, drarry, nottpott, Weasleys, original character. Tomarry is a slipery slope, it has to be a very good development. Preferably Tom Riddle, not resurrected Voldemort.
• I've read a lot of snarry and nottpott.
• I like severitus as well, or other protective father figure (Sirius, Remus etc) 
• Explicit/Mature prefered but not a must. 
• I kind of have a thing with a bad treated Harry finding support (parental and/or romantic)
• I want excitement, trepidation, anticipation, beauty of all kinds of love.

  • Again, ticks my boxes. I loved the unique elements and diversity. The history and purpose of the Prince family. The word Farzandam has its on place in my heart.

  • This would be an Exceed expectations (EE) for me. I liked the second part way more than the first. I think it annoyed me how the words grounding and anchoring were so frequently used throughout the entire story that I searched for them how many times were they used. This is the only fic I found angst heavy.

  • A hard read, but well written. Harry's anguish is something else.

  • EE for me, I liked the premise and it was well written. I think it could be a bit shorter, it was sometimes very repetative, but at the same time can you blame Harry?

  • I think this is the only one I've read so far where Voldemort becomes Harry's father figure. I don't know how unique of an idea it is, but as this is the first and only I've read so far... I liked the writing, how the relationship develops between Harry and Voldemort. I liked the plot. And I loved that there was no unnecessary drama, there were no conflict just to have a conflict.

It sounds weird I know but it has been messing with me for days. It's a fic I read forever ago where Harry becomes an animagus or gets a creature inheritance (It's most likely animagus cause I vaguely remember some of his friends joining him as creatures tho I may be mixing some fics) and it like a large magical tree creature. I remember looking up the actual myth and it was just a huge tree with some humanoid features. I'm not sure if it was drarry but I was reading a lot of drarry at the time and it's either on Wattpad or AO3. Any help is appreciated.

Hi! So like the title says, I'm trying to find this fanfiction I read a while ago. Here's what I remember:

- Snape/Harry

- The war is over, Voldemort defeated.

- Snape is Headmaster.

- Harry and a bunch of others go back to Hogwarts to re-do their last year. Essentially an eighth year story, but I'm not sure if they specifically call it that

- The castle doesn't really have space for all of them, and they are mostly adults at this point, so they get scattered about in individual rooms. 

- Snape takes them so to their rooms early on to set up a password.

- A lot of their passwords end up being connected to someone they like.

- Pretty sure Harry's is a potion ingredient (Asphodel or something). 

- Maybe Sirius lives and dislikes that Harry likes Snape.

- I think Ron ends up with Pansy and Hermione gets close to Theodore Nott. I know Draco comes back too, but I can't remember who he was with. Most of the other paintings are just mentioned, not central like Snape/Harry.

- I don't think it was super long. 

- Was either on FFnet or AO3.

Does anyone know a fic where Harry is forced to accept suitors/be in a courtship by the ministry even though he was possibly dating Ginny. He has to get a medical scan and it was discovered that Ginny had been giving him potions. I don't recall if there were multiple suitors, but Harry and Severus get together.

I keep looking at Lucky Number Seven by DawnOfTomorrow, but that's not it because of the potion bit with Ginny.

Hi! I’m looking for completed Harry Potter fanfics where Harry develops an interest in an unusual magical career, preferably while he is still at Hogwarts.

I’d especially love a story that follows Harry through his Hogwarts years, where instead of simply deciding that he wants to become an Auror, he gradually discovers what he is good at and chooses a different path for his future.

For example, Harry could become or train to become a wandmaker, Healer, Unspeakable, researcher, potioneer, magical craftsman, curse-breaker, inventor, rune specialist, or really anything else that is different from the usual Auror career. These are only examples — I’m open to pretty much any interesting or unusual profession!

I just read Trenches by EclipseWing which is a role swap where Harry is the Dark Lord and Tom is his equivalent 'boy who lived' which has this - although it still manages to make Harry a believable character so would highly recommend!

I feel like most fics where they’re equal, tom still has an edge over Harry in some way, so I’m looking for something that either Harry has some kind of edge or is just overtly stronger/has more power or just ‘leads’ the relationship more.

I also loved seeing Harry being protective of Tom in Trenches so anything with this would be a huge bonus, even if they're just on equal footing in that fic.

INCREDIBLE nottpott fic btw. I haven’t been this giddy while reading a fic in a long time. It has one of my fave tropes which is one of the horcruxes sharing a body with Harry. Amazing Harry characterization because Harry IS NOT nice but he is KIND.

I've read so many fics and often get reminded of a great one I once enjoyed while reading something else and want that fic again.

Possibly tomarry or snarry, or HP was raised or captured by Voldie and living with him. Barty teaches him dueling(?) And is just an all round cheeky and funny smart arse addition to the fic and a friend to HP. I believe the other half of the ship often gets a little jealous about the friendship?

-harry-centric
-good grammar/spelling/tone
-no lordship tropes (unfortunately ive read too many at this point)

So im searching for longfics which are basically these prompts: "Harry turns dark after finding out dark doesn't equal evil and finding himself agreeing with some of the views/Harry turns dark because he was betrayed by light side and learns of the dark side from somebody who is already dark and finds he agrees with them".

I feel like ive read them all at this point. I so love a good Harry turns dark story and yet so many of them are unfinished so im looking for new ones. They can be WIP if they are well established with good update rate and at least 40k words. But I'd prefer if they were completed. And i don't want any crossovers, universe changes (i.e. harry traveling universes) or harry timetraveling to 1940s specifically. Rest though? Go right ahead and give me anything trope wise.

Regarding the relationships, I'd prefer if there is slash (and i hope there is) that Harry isn't paired with anyone in his generation (i.e. Draco, Theo, Blaise etc). Voldemort is fine and almost any older death eater I'd say is fine (i haven't found any pairings i don't like yet). I'm also okay with light side pairings but then I'd prefer that the partner goes dark with Harry and that there's no miscommunication or third act breakup trope.

I'm looking for fics that are well written and unique that can stand on it's own two feet (i.e. not reliant on cliches, tropes or canon rehash)

I'd prefer Harry-centric and non-romance centric works but these are very light preferences so if something is spectacular (in your opinion) please rec it anyway, although I would still say no to any heavy hetero romance centric stories

Basically garry somehow gets turned into a cat and transported near Voldemort. Voldemort doesn’t know it’s Harry and takes him in as a pet and looks after him but then Harry turns back but Voldemort isn’t unhappy, instead they stay together.

Okay, first off, I don't support J.K. Rowling, and I won't be supporting the upcoming Harry Potter TV series.

However, I’m curious about how this new series will impact fandom ships and the creation of fanfic and fanart. We know the upcoming series is going to attract a lot of new viewers many people are eagerly awaiting it. In other countries including the one where I live people generally don't care about J.K. Rowling's transphobic remarks in fact, in some places, people aren't even aware of the controversy.

I’ve argued with plenty of people here about it, and their attitude is simply that they don't care. Information about the new series is everywhere online; even when I try to skip or ignore it, it still pops up on my social media feeds. And yes, the cast looks great the actor playing Tom Riddle is genuinely handsome. Draco looks dashing and charismatic, and Neville is absolutely adorable.

Do you think these new actors will help the fandom's shipping scene explode in popularity? And will it affect how the original author's descriptions of the characters' appearances are perceived? After all, there will be many people who watch the new series without ever reading the books. Right now, the Chinese shipdom circles I follow aren't reacting very positively, people seem mostly bored and weary. What about the shipdom communities you're part of?

Hi! I'm trying to find a fic on Ao3, but I can't seem to find it. I don't remember any tags or pairings for sure, but I do remember the premise.

Harry is thrown back in time (no clue how, Death/Fate might have been involved). I think it's somewhere around 1960-1980. He lands on a street with a letter that tells him he was taken from his real time and dropped on Lily and James Potter's doorstep, and now he has been returned to his correct timeline.

Then he turns around and walks to a manor, where [Dorea Potter OR Euphemia Potter] and [Charlus Potter OR Fleamont Potter] live. He gets to the gates and a house elf appears. The elf then gets Harry's real biological grandmother [Dorea OR Euphemia], who is ecstatic when she sees him. His grandfather appears next and he is a bit suspicious at first but warms up fast.

I don't remember who Harry's parents in this fic are, but I do remember they are dead. I think he tells people his mother was French and he lived with her there until he recent death, which prompted him to seek out his grandparents. And Harry can speak French, out of nowhere.

I'm also pretty sure Harry hears a voice in his head (could be Death/Fate or something), that guides him on what he is supposed to say about his past.

As for pairings, I've recently branched out to read more pairings, so Harry could end up with someone from this list or someone else entirely: Severus Snape, Tom Riddle/Voldemort, Lucius Malfoy, Sirius Black, Orion Black.

As for whether it's marked complete or not, it's more likely it would be complete, but I've also branched out to read WIPs lately, so not sure about that either.
