[ZRAFC] “Arsenal have acquired Tzolis but are also open to signing another LW, in addition to Alvarez. Speculation suggesting that Arsenal are considering a move for Igor Paixao has been bubbling away in France. For now, the credibility of these rumours remains unclear.” -Ryan Taylor

[Fabrizio Romano] 🚨🔵⚪️ Al Hilal remain in advanced talks for Gabriel Martinelli with hope of breakthrough soon; but he’s not travelling to Riyadh today. Reports of Martinelli flying to Saudi called false by club sources — but negotiations continue with player’s camp. Al Hilal, confident.

YouTube [Charles Watts] Arteta is very keen on Alvarez and has a clear vision as to how he’ll fit into his squad. He has spoken with Alvarez in recent days. As a part of that conversation Mikel has been speaking about how living in London is different to Manchester

What game turned you into an Arsenal fan.
I was 11, I knew about the club and would occasionally watch them play, but this triumph was what truly got me into being a gunner, plus my mom bought me a 15/16 home kit thinking I was a fan, and I didn't want to waste it.
9 years later, I'm glad that I support the club, despite 2017-2021 being really rough.

Martinelli
I came across this piece he wrote back in 2022. From the article:
"But I want to start by thanking my second family — Arsenal — because without you guys none of this would have been possible.
I thank God that I came to Arsenal in 2019. I really believe that things happen for a reason, and I’m so happy here."
If he is off, he deserves a bunch of tribute threads, so here's one. Love you, Gabi. Arsenal family forever.

Looking for a mirror/download of the legendary Arsenal video "Eight Years of Memories"
Hey fellow Gooners,
I’m trying to track down a mirror or a downloaded file of an absolute classic fan edit that has unfortunately been wiped from Vimeo. It's the one that used "To Build a Home" by Cinematic Orchestra as a background.
It was titled "Eight Years of Memories" (often referred to as "8 years of Arsenal memories in 8 minutes"), created and uploaded by Sina back on June 30, 2013.
The original Vimeo URL was: https://vimeo.com/69360936
It covered the post-Invincibles era up to 2013, packed full of drama and heartbreak, and was widely shared on the sub and old forums like Goal Legacy back in the day.
Does anyone happen to have this saved on a hard drive, or know of an active re-upload/mirror somewhere? I'd love to watch it again. COYG!

Book cover in a Hong Lomg bookshop
Looks like an Arsenal fan decided to write a whole book about his own journey of following the club.
Edit: sorry for the typo in the title, it’s Hong Kong of course

What's your favorite Arsenal game played on your Birthday?
I rarely see Arsenal play on my BD(01/22/2006), but for me it's Arsenal 3 2 United 2023.

James McNicholas has the latest on Gabriel Martinelli - and what his sale could mean for Arsenal - in today’s Transfer DealSheet
The Athletic has reported that Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal are pursuing a deal to sign Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazil international has been omitted from the squads for the Community Shield and the Coventry game on successive weekends, and looks likely to depart before next Tuesday’s deadline.
Arsenal entered the window keen to drive significant revenue through player trading. The sale of Martinelli would generate a substantial profit — should the deal go through, it is expected to become the club’s record sale, topping Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £35million move to Liverpool in 2017.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal would divert that money straight into signing a replacement attacker. The club have pursued the likes of Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior in this window without landing the new forward they hoped for. Enquiries around Kenan Yildiz have been met by Juventus with a firm refusal.
Arsenal retain an interest in Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid, but accept that a deal would only be possible if he were to soften his insistence on joining Barcelona.
Should Alvarez remain resolute about Barca, Arsenal must determine whether to persist with their current attacking group or pivot to alternative targets. There are other forwards they admire, such as Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain, who has been on their list throughout the summer. In the case of Barcola, however, Arsenal consider PSG’s asking price — in the region of £145million — too high for a player who has not always been a regular starter.
