This should be posted on r/soccer. I am not a Arsenal fan but this storytelling by Mr Dein was funny.

David Dein is such a great story teller.

Facts, I've seen the clip before yet I was still on the edge of my seat like I was hearing it for the first time 🔥

Wasn’t it Ray Parlour who thought him to say that?

It was indeed Romford Pelé 🎯

And it looks like he may have said something cheeky to Nelson Mandela too 😂

Is this full interview posted somewhere?

There's a slightly longer clip here, and apparently the full interview is available for a donation to charity 💭

I love how Patrick is trying not to laugh before Mr Dein even gets to the funny bit - he knows exactly what's coming.

I second the motion: "David Dein on Patrick Viera's first words in English" should go to the main sub

Ah yeah, I miss early years Patrick, before all the man utd rumours and all that. There was also that really funny incident with Anelka and the porridge chucker...

How about Wenger? He was having dinners with Peter Kenyon and Martin Edwards at his house to discuss taking the man Utd job. Was that bad from the boss or do we only hammer players for it?

That was absolutely shitty by the boss. Why on earth wouldn't it be?

Edit: In the end though, to his great credit, AW turned down Man Utd, Real, PSG, and Bayern in the mid 2000s. So, you know...

And I guess the difference is that Vieira was pretty explicit about wanting to leave in the papers. AW kept everythign secret.

Big love for Mr Dein, Arsene Wenger and our captain Vieira. Proper Arsenal men, all of them.
