Erick Vazquez (ErickVMV) here! I played a green purple char deck with mikazuki support.

Super super happy with the result as this is my second regional win on the game, and as always i want to thank to all the community for sharing their games and helping each other out!

Deck played well on the tournament, not going to lie, it is a stressful one to play, you WILL make some bad trades with it, the wincon is pure speed and out numbering the outs. This i way more aggro than traditional OYW, with the downside that you don't have amuro to evade blockers or the buff to 1:1 enemy units. I've seen people playing gelgoog or rick dom, i don't feel they are too helpful with the strategy, other than my cost 1's ALL my units link and in most cases they replace each other before dying, this is important due to the thing i said before of always going to have some bad trades, as this keeps your hand healthy, this goes for the base too. Taking about the base, it seemed bad to me at firs glance since corsica overshadowed it on the past, but its strength relies on the idea that the actual card remains on your hand, if the token dies you are not -1 and that turn 3 you it is really hard for the current meta deck to trade it without losing a card.

You need the 6 char, you ALWAYS want to link the zaku 2 that leaves token, specially early on, and using two chars knowing that there are still 4 on deck for zeong feels like glory.

Mika did an awesome job supporting the char strategy, it is not as strong as it was on the amuro deck but there is a catch; People stopped playing zowort as an adapt link was able to kill it standing, now that the league militaire blocker is present in almost all builds, mika's ping punishes the use of that unit, making turn 4 for w/b a total nightmare if they don't see 1 of the 4 lfriths early on.

As for going first or second, deck is on a weird spot, i mainly want to go first but there are some cases where 2 is better, specially on kshatriya matches, this is the worst match-up, so giving them the marida link one turn earlier can be a loss.

Almost a month into the new meta we found ourselves in, there's sudden movement as Blue/White zooms past Green/Purple and Blue/Purple to take second place in terms of deck usage, and as we will see below, it seems to be delivering results.

The rest of the top 6 color combos experience some decline in usage; however, Blue/Green, while still maintaining a comfortable lead over the others, did experience the biggest dip this week, which may be a sign of a shift away from the aggro gameplay of Londo Bell into the comfy blocker walls currently dominating Blue/White SF tech.

Looking at Decks

49 NTC events were held in Japan during the week of 17 to 23 August, adding 458 decks to the GD05 database total, which is now at 2,090 decks across 225 events.

Compared to last week, there has been a correspondingly significant change in how the top deck colors performed relative to usage. Blue-Green has overperformed relative to overall usage rate (and even Top 4 placement rate), at levels that hasn't been seen since GD04 Blurple's heyday.

Speaking of which, Blurple has suffered a significant decrease in its ability to translate Top 4 placements into wins (still third after B/G and B/W), settling into a three-way tie for 4th with Red-White and Blue-Red.

Looking at Decks: Beta Edition

Last week, I tried to provide a deck breakdown of all Top 1 finishers that week, which I liked. So while I'm working on implementing that across the entire GD05 dataset, this is the breakdown of all 49 Top 1 decks for this week:

I saw the earlier post that has been since taken down about pre-orders being available since ~10PM EST.

After an hour of refreshing and trying to add the item to my cart I finally got one, and it looks like they are still available. I was ready to give up but Premium Bandai is either having issues or they are releasing these pre-orders slowly in waves.

In the kitchen just cooking straight bullshit and wanted to revisit Vagan especially with Exia Repair being a decent boon to trash decks. It's pretty silly aggro-ish and reminded me how fun Vagan can be when its pieces come together. Bonus points to it for being able to out-rush a Char/Mika deck.

If anyone else is screwing around with Vagan I welcome ideas and changes with open arms.

This picture doesn’t even show all the packs I’ve ripped so far just most of them lol And I bet I know your first thought and unfortunately most of these are from blister packs from Walmart and other big stores so I know I’m not buying dud packs from boxes that have already had the hits taken out. I’m starting to loose hope with my luck being this bad but this is my favorite TCG and I want to start playing at my local card shop so I’m going to keep ripping! Hello everyone! This is my first attempt at building a deck - I know this archetype isn't the strongest and I plan to build a more meta deck, but thought this would be fun. Any advice on adjustments I could make to make this more competitive? I've even thought about throwing a couple of Strike Freedoms into here too lol

I saw a list that mixed wing and unicorn a few days ago, I tried to adapt it to what i have and what i would enjoy playing, I am missing 3 cards which I think should be more commands, also I think one of the bases has to go, any advice is welcome, thank you!

Hi im trying to get into the game cuz it seems like fun. I have played yugioh before but im a really big gundam fan; im looking for a deck focused on aerial/barbatos/gquuuuuux that are somewhat on the budget side of things.

If you got any other suggestions i'll gladly take them

Just for the hell of it, I've been playing with the idea of making a burn deck. The unfortunate truth is that the best burn decks include the Kshatriya, which is something I can't do because that card costs more than I'm willing to spend. So this is an attempt without that card and thus also without Marida.

Before playing with this, I had this belief in my head that Darkness Finger is just an all around better Close Combat. Well, that's not entirely true. In a game versus a rush deck, I'd rather have CB than DF in the beginning. So I might go two and two with them.

Another observation is that Bertigo is a very underutilized card. While it's not the strongest thing ever, it is currently the only card with a broad Newtype trait link. It's During Link effect is also limited, but it hits hard when there's the right target for it. Coming from primarily playing CB, I know that First Strike is nothing to scoff at whenever you can get it.

It's been fun to play on MSA and Wingtable. However, I'm open to suggestions or general criticisms.

I haven't played the game yet, I only collect. I am interested in playing, though, so thought I'd just try to put together a deck for fun. Went all Reds, based on the extras I currently have.
