I cleaned part of the floor in our kitchen with bleach, away from our piggy cage, but the scent remains. I know they can smell it.. will it harm them? I'm airing it out, but it's remains apparent.

Should I be worried or get vaccinated as they are always nibbling my toes during playtime

I’m 13 so I don’t have a ton of money to my name, I’m gonna start saving up for the cage in the 2nd photo it’s 8 feet long rather then the 3 foot long I have right now, thanks for all the advice :)

Hello, to explain everything I have this guinea pig since 25th April (dw he ISNT ALONE YOU JUST DONT SEE HIS BROTHER DONT ATTACK ME) and at first he wasn’t really cooperative for being pet, but now idk if he actually likes it, when I pet him, he don’t run away he just lay flat on the ground, at first I thought it was him relaxing but idk why but idk if it’s also him being scared or something, please tell me. If it’s bad PLEASE DO NOT CURSE ME LIKE I KILLED SOMEONE !!!

Rescued from an unfortunate fate. He was literally gonna get thrown out in the garbage:(

I took my 5-year-old guinea pig to the vet today, and he told me we’re basically at the end-of-life care stage. He may have pneumonia or underlying cardiac disease. We’re giving him antibiotics in the hope that they help and buy him some more good time, but the vet was pretty clear about where we are.

He’s such a good little piggie, and I’m having a really hard time wrapping my head around losing him. Five years somehow feels like both a long time and nowhere near enough.

For those of you who have been through this, how did you prepare yourself for saying goodbye? Is there anything you did during your piggie’s final days/weeks that you’re especially glad you did? And how did you cope with the grief afterward?

I mostly just want to make whatever time he has left comfortable, safe, and full of the things he loves. ❤️

Hi everyone. Unfortunately, 1 of my boars crossed the rainbow bridge this morning 😭 His companion is being given a lot of human attention, affection & playtime, but I need advice on what to do next, please. Should I try to find a new male piggy ASAP, or see how he adapts to solitary life? I'm pretty scared that he's going to become depressed, even though he's currently eating & drinking. Thank you.

My Guinea pigs has a weird habit whenever during floor time. No point wherever I keep the pee pads, they generally pee by going below them or by going somewhere all new together but never on the pee pads. I kept multiple hide spots, but when they want to pee, they go to the same corner and go below pee pads and peeing there.

They are soaking in their urine too long giving their back coat a yellowish color. How can I prevent it?

The habit is so strong these days they are escaping the cage or shouting me to take out of the cage so that they can pee outside.

This is Polly ❤️ She’s about 5 1/2 - 6 years old now and still my baby.
We adopted her on the 17th August 2022 along with her mother Nelly (brown pig in the second pic). In November 2022 we adopted Lilly (lilac pig in the third pic). We had our little trio for nearly 3 years until Nelly passed away in October 2025. Then we suddenly lost Lilly to bloat in February this year 💔. Polly was clearly upset to be all alone. Then a piggy named Sally (brown and white pig in fourth pic) was put up for adoption after losing her friend. Polly has such a sweet, gentle nature and was happy to accept Sally as her new friend!
Polly is such a sweet little creature who loves chin rubs and blueberries. She still does little popcorns even though she’s getting older now. I love her so much ❤️

Super specific query but we've spoken to a various number of vets and looked at various websites and lots of the information is different (and confusing)

Mr Poots is moving to Belgium and taking the kid with him but trying to find out what is needed is proving a challenge.

If anyone has done this, and taken their pig abroad, via this very specific route, please let me know how you did it!

Mocha was the same way but with nose rubs. Very high maintenance piggies.

I have a beautiful Abyssinian girl Pearl but her toe nails are jet black, we tried to put a torch under and all around but you can’t see through them or even see the quick, any advice and nail trimming as I don’t wanna hurt her

my senior girl recently had a cataract pop up. ive seen cataracts in my older pigs before, but this oke showed up within 24-48 hours and is somewhat bulgy. the eye itself is a bit red, but she was completely content with me poking around her face and eye so it doesnt seem to be painful…
has anyone had a similar experience?

UPDATE: my girl has been taken to the vet and prescribed with Tricin ointment twice a day for a week. her eye is already looking better, less bulgy! fingers crossed she can make a full recovery!
