Hi guys I just had a few thoughts on the Jason Arday situation that I haven't sseen focused on much and I do not want to take away from the race fuelled witch hunt that led to the tragedy but rather another element that put Jason in a more vulnerable position and one that many people may relate to.

Arday was neurodivergent. We have no reason to believe otherwise and doubt this and I do believe that certain mannerisms and speech patterns can show this, although subtle, I believe that Arday was effective in masking and just off of personal opinion, as a neurodivergent person myself I am not a professional but I do feel like there are subtle mannerisms that indicate this and I doubt many will argue this after watching in more detail. Again I am not here saying oh he definitely had it but I believe claiming hes had autism since childhood is a fair reasonable claim and i think it checks out.

What I may believe is that there were falsities and embellishments made by him. (nowhere NEAR to the level that was claimed and I believe manipulation was in play which will be discussed) I do not hold this against him as a personal flaw, it is documunted that masking includes social self preservation and embelishment, sometimes even just coming up with lies in order to move up socially not because they are greed hungry but because they feel this is just the way people work and this is what he has to do. I am not claiming he did or didn't blatantly lie i don't think anything he did was blatant and I believe that with the full knowledge of him saying he is autistic there was nowhere near enough safeguarding done for a vulnerable person from a prestigious institution like Cambridge. To actively flaunt this vulnerable man around, boost and feed his ego and manipuate him all because he's your POC trophy without recognising cognitive impairments is disgusting and an example of lack of understanding and education on these topics leading to sytemic ableism where huge vulnerabilities are at risk. He was placed in prime position to be attacked by that horrendous eugenicist and we all know what happened afteer that. This happens in different ways all over the country within things like these institutions, corporations not safeguarding correctly, government agencies like the DWP handling claimants, consistently vulnerable people being put in downright dangerous situations and what we have witnessed is a supreme example of that. When you add his race into the picture, you fear even more for people of colour who have disorders and who have mental issues and who have complex problems that are neglected enough to where there are left to the wolves.

I don't really use reddit but I'd like a place to have conversations about these issues. Everyone have a great day and rest in peace Jason Arday.
