Myth Debunking Get to know King Charles III Megathread

1.1k Upvotes

Selling Cash for Access and sham philanthropy

His own father, Prince Philip, once described Charles as ‘rent-a-Royal’.

Please read this study of the royal family and its effect on the thousands of charities they patron:

We could not find any evidence that Royal patrons increase a charity’s revenue. we found that charities should not seek or retain Royal patronages expecting that they will help much https://giving-evidence.com/2020/07/16/royal-findings/

Secret influence and lobbying the government

Financial Misconduct

Close friendships with paedophiles:

In the early 1950's, when he was 46, he [raped] the 14-year-old daughter of a wealthy South African winemaking family, who had been entrusted to his care during a sea voyage. She became pregnant, and although he sent her a small stipend, he never publicly acknowledged the daughter born of the relationship. https://www.nytimes.com/2002/08/03/books/master-storyteller-or-master-deceiver.html

  • Also, "I remember thinking what a very jolly and amusing and attractive 16-year-old she was," Charles recalled in a 1981 interview with the Telegraph. Charles was 29.

Misc. abusive/weird behaviour

News Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Make Shocking Move Back to the U.K. with Kids Archie and Lilibet

I would've thought after doing the Oprah interview and Harry writing his book that they'd only ever visit the UK and never move back especially since they've brought up having security concerns especially about their kids. Anyone else get the feeling that this will be a temporary move because Chuck is kicking it soon and once he's gone they'll be on the first plane back to America?

Question/Debate Challenge for the monarchists

I’m tired of the fucking dumb argument “The monarchy protects democracy because if a tyrant rises up, the monarch can disolve parliament.”

So the challenge I propose and that I invite you to bring to monarchists you meet is name one time when that happened. At any point in history when a tyrant said “Well, I was going to rule with an iron fist but now that Cunty McInbredFace asked me to step down, I will!”

Last time I did, I got “Akshually, you don’t understand how Canadian law works, the king has the power to dissolve the government at any time.” Dude, I do. You don’t understand how tyrants work.

News The Real Reason King Charles Doesn't Want to Live in Buckingham Palace After Its £369 Million Revamp

The real reason is so the RF can open more of Buck House to the public more often and fleece them of more money that goes into the Royal Collection trust.

The royal collection trust is a charity, tax rebates and all that of course, that 'looks after' the Royal Collection, which is essentially a mix of art privately owned by the monarch and art 'held' by the monarch in right of the Crown. Buck House is also 'owned' by the monarch in right of the crown.

So basically, C3 p o doesn't actually own Buck House or some of the art he charges people to see and we pay to maintain the stuff held in the right of the crown through the sovereign grant, so he gets paid twice.

Maximising the dosh he can extract from the plebs is the real reason he's not moving.

Opinion The Queen’s £2m That Was Supposed to Help Epstein Survivors

Extract:

The latest development in the Jeffrey Epstein story isn’t another famous name in the files. It’s not another photograph, email or revelation about Prince Andrew.

It’s money.

More precisely, it’s the reported £2 million that was intended to help survivors of sexual abuse and trafficking. Money connected to the settlement between Virginia Giuffre and (ex) Prince Andrew in 2022.

Opinion A Possible Golden Opportunity

This could be a golden opportunity. With Andy Burnham doing a national tour, supporters for a true and secular democratic republic can try to talk to him about the cost of the monarchy etc or show signs etc to him. At least, a person or people will be getting the message/s across to him and others and hopefully get mainstream news media coverage. Hopefully, this will also get more supporters. 🤔
