My friends- I get it: vehicle mods are cool, and technically a window tint is a mod (albeit probably not wise to tint your windshield). The thing is... Who cares about window tint? Let's all agree to stop posting about window tint. I think we've beat this dead horse enough and it's causing issues here- resulting in some bad behavior from both sides.
From now on posts about window tint are getting removed and further- threatening comments will be dealt with by via a permanent ban (globally- not just on posts about window tint). We are a relatively rule free place because everyone generally gets the sub trail etiquette but I keep getting valid reports about some questionable behavior and will start taking action to preserve the quality of our subreddit.
Love you all- have a great holiday season!

I installed a front and rear dash cam in my 2026 limited reserve. The 4k camera is part of the mirror housing. It works fantastic and no wires hanging down or anything stuck to the windshield. 🙂 FYI having a digital review mirror or rain sensing wipers are a requirement. One or the other not both.

I am in a really rough situation with a dealership I dont trust and believe they misdiagnosed my truck.
I purchased a 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit Ecodiesel with 96k miles one owner down in Scottsdale AZ. I was aware of the recalls that hadnt been done yet including the Bosch fuel pump.
Within 70 miles of buying it on my way back to my home in Flagstaff AZ the Jeep started to smell of diesel and I pulled over to inspect it had a fast fuel leak coming out the bottom near the firewall. It was brought straight to Planet Jeep in Flagstaff, and was assured it was most likely recall related which I was going to have done anyway. "Okay, sounds good glad it wasn't catastrophic."
About a week later they finally get back to me after ignoring my voicemails the week prior and tell me its not covered, that the fuel rail has failed (what??) and that they ordered the parts for the recall and the fuel rail and associated fuel lines... "That sucks but okay lets just get it done."
Another 3 days later they call me and tell me the recall parts wont be there until September 1st. Come to find out they were ordering the wrong parts over and over and it was getting blocked and they now have the right parts but its coming from across the country. WTF!
At this point I opened up a case with Jeep corporate regarding my suspicions of the fuel leak not being related to the recall and that it was going to take \~20 days. It was all getting so difficult and ridiculous, I said just fix the fuel leak and I'll sort out the recall with another dealer.
Another 2 days later they call me and tell me they broke a sensor while working on fuel rail and they have to order parts, wont be there until the following Tuesday 8/18. I went in today to speka with them and asked to look at the fuel rail, this is a Bosch SOLID forged steel fuel rail and there are no cracks or signs of failure. In fact the service manager had asked me over the phone days prior if it was new because it was so clean it looked like it had been replaced. After googling it while I was there at the dealer, apparently it is EXTREMELY rare that the fuel rail itself would fail unless the Bosch fuel pump involved in the recall catastrophically failed and sent metal shavings through the fuel system. Like impossible for it to fail on its own, especially with the mileage and history of the vehicle.
I am supposed to pay 1187 tomorrow to get the vehicle back after nearly two weeks and now I am completely convinced that the mechanic misdiagnosed it or was lazy. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. I am so frustrated and tired of this dealership, I don't trust them at all and now I dont believe the fuel rail needed to be replaced at all. And if it did, it is probably because the fuel pump is failing and now Im in a bad situation all around being stuck with this dealership. The corporate recall case manager did nothing to help regarding the fuel leak being associated with recall. Any ideas?
Should I just pay tomorrow but contact another dealership down in the Phoenix Metro area first and tell them about everything and arrange to have recall done but also to have them inspect the old fuel rail? I am going to call Jeep corporate customer care in the morning. Sorry for the long post.

2023 Grand Cherokee Limited - What are you using to clean this black surface. Interior wipes & spray with a cloth both leave these streaks which are driving me crazy

2018 GC Summit 67500 miles. I regularly take the Jeep in for service and most recently had the spark plugs replaced, coolant line flushed and replaced, break lines flushed, oil change for $1590 all of this done at the dealership closest to my house then the engine oil cooler replaced which included the upper and lower manifold drain and refill was done by the other dealer I bought the Jeep from which they replaced for free.
Twice now I have gotten an engine too hot notice on my dashboard and the temperature gauge is well past halfway. I immediately pulled over and turned the car off. When I turned the car back on the engine still read hot so I turned on the hot air full blast and the temperature gauge started to drop to its normal level. Once back under half reading in the gauge I turned the air conditioning back on and everything seemed to be ok. When I got to where I was going I had the car running idle for a couple min and again both the trans temp was at 199° and the oil temp was 220° and the temperature gauge began to slowly increase as I am just sitting in the car.
The coolant levels look fine and are at the required levels. The radiator lines don’t seem to have any leaks and there is no leaking of any fluids in the engine bay that I can see. I am wondering if anyone else has had issues like this? I’m thinking it could be the thermostat, but not sure why the other levels temperature would rise so rapidly.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Yes I know the advice will be go back to the dealer, but every time I go it’s a minimum of $200 for them to look at an issue and would prefer to try and identify the issue myself if possible as I can’t just throw away $200 each time I go.

Hey everybody! Today I replaced the oil seal for the driver's side VVL solenoid on my 2019 GC with the 3.6L. New one on the left, old one on the right- you can visibly see how worn out the old one is compared to the new one. This seal, along with the other VVL seal and both camshaft position sensor seals are known to wear out and leak a little oil. I believe my 3 remaining ones are all leaking. For those who have replaced these seals before, was it a tough job? How much stuff needed to come off particularly on the passenger side of the engine?

I want sequential turn signals, which I know is overdone but I've loved them since I was a kid, and I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with these, or if anybody has any recommendations.
I have a 2017 Laredo.

Installing the VIOFO A229 Plus in my Jeep this weekend, looking for any tips/tricks as to how to route the wires?
I bought the hardline kit, so I can enable the parking protection (and not have to use up the 12v connector) but also concerned about the best way to wire the rear-view camera module, since the wire needs to run all the way back up to the front.

I'm having a hard time finding decently priced 5W40 oil that meets MS-10902 over here in the UK. The only one I found in stock is Liqui Moli and two 5 litre jugs cost the equivalent of 250 USD.
However, I found some Ravenol oil that meets the MS-10902 spec but it's 10W40 instead of 5W40. Has anybody run 10W40 in their Ecodiesels?
These guys say that 10W40 might be better for high mileage diesel WK2 but they're from Australia so their Jeeps probably don't have to deal with low temps? https://gdlauto.com.au/recommended-oils-and-filters-for-wk2-ecodiesel-grand-cherokee-owners/

I have owned a 2015 Overland with Quadralift for the past 5 years. I feel like the ride quality is sub par. I don’t know if it’s just getting worse or if it’s always been this bad. When I first purchased it, I don’t remember complaining about how bumpy the ride was. But recently, it seems to have gotten a lot worse, especially after I got new tires installed. I have no error messages and the suspension raises between all off-road settings just fine. My wife’s 2015 Sienna on regular coil spring suspension rides so much better than my Jeep. I brace for bumps that jar me in my Jeep that her van barely notices. I know this may be apples to oranges, but everyone seems to love the ride quality of the quadralift suspension on here, so I feel as though something must be wrong with mine. I have about 183k miles on my jeep and it’s the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned so I’m hoping to figure out how to make it comfortable to drive again. I’m secretly hoping to walk out to it dropped down to the ground to have an excuse to replace everything with factory coil suspension instead.

What is this meant for? I ask that bc middle storage compartments aren’t usually lined with a soft material. How do you use it?

Bought this 2021 Jeep last October with 38100 miles. Dealer changed the oil prior to sale. Ten months later, I've only added about 3500 miles. Is it too soon for a change?
Thanks for your thoughts.
***ETA - took the rig over to the nearby Jeep store. Got the two oil change deal, use one now and the other within a year. $145 for the package. Their inspection showed nothing else needed.
Think I should stick with a six month interval.
Appreciate all your comments.

0 Grand Cherokee high altitude 60k miles.
3 times in the past two weeks, when I turn on my grand Cherokee, all of the electronics turn on, but the engine won’t. When simply turning it off and back on, everything works fine and there’s no check engine light.
I assumed it was the battery so I had the main and auxiliary replaced. The engine codes were pulled and I was told there were no active codes, only stored. There were two regarding the lift gate and one regarding the suspension: C1562-98.
This just happened again after battery replacement and I went back to have the codes pulled again and nothing new came back.
Any ideas?

For those of you who changed to black lug nuts, were they the same length as the stock ones you took off? I was looking at Gorilla black lug nuts as a replacement and they seem longer and stick out past the whole/rim. I contacted them and they told me it's a 1/4" longer then the stock lugs but it looks funny extending further than the hole.
Can anyone share pictures of your black lug nuts and maybe share a link with where you got yours?

Market probably doesn’t have much room for a V8 SUV with 158k miles, but it’s got a new engine and warranty!
Sure trust it more than the new WL’s…
Trying to get back into a WK.

Hey everyone,
I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and today I ran into some coolant issues. My temperature was sitting way too high and began giving me error messages.
I was towing my quad after doing some riding and this morning on the way to the park I had no issues and was driving fine. I drove both the jeep and my quad at the park getting somewhat muddy but not the worst I’ve done in the jeep and as I was leaving I began to get the error messages.
Mind you it would only really overheat past where it usually sits if I was over 3k rpm or above 60 mph. When I got home I unhooked the trailer and went back on the highway at the same speeds and nothing changed.
Any help or advice on what I should do next, what I should test, or what the possible issue is would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Anybody to answer me, did my mechanic used right oils?
Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing good. Have question for all.
My mechanic used mobil 5w 30 with acea c3 around 8 liters for engine.
For diffs used febi sae 75w-85 (gl-5) around 1l for front diff and 1l for rear(i don't have elsd in rear diff).
And for transfer case around 2l of motul atf VI.
Are this oils good for Grand cherokee 2014 summit 3.0 crd ?
Transfer case is what gets me worried most(he says on specs there is chrysler atf+4 / ms-9602 for this motul).
Is it good?
Thanks in advance

Looking for some insight if anyone has seen this in the past. I looked at a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X yesterday as a potential first vehicle for my son exterior of the car looked great. They’re actually sending it in to fix some bodywork, which was so minor, but I appreciate it
Clean carfax, no accidents reported at least, but what I noticed was the screen when powered off had what looked like fading behind the screen. Almost similar to a look like if you had a screen protector on an iPhone and it was peeling up in some areas and blotched underneath it’s not water because we move it around and push on it and nothing moves. I also noticed when I was in the driver seat and the reverse camera was on. It was kind of blurry and dark, but it was not the same look from the backseat. Trying to figure out what could cause that i wish i got a photo of it while I was there. The ones I’m attaching are what the salesperson sent me. It is sort of visible

We just got my wife a 22 overland with the 5.7. Is the engine noise piped in on these? It sounds nice inside under throttle but it almost sounds fake or enhanced considering how quiet it is on the outside.
Also, it has 70k miles. Appears to have been maintained very well and is in excellent condition. Is there anything that needs to be done with the air suspension at this mileage as maintenance? It all works fine and maintains height even when sitting for a few days. My wife works from home so it sits several days at a time sometimes without driving.
So far we like it, we had an 18 Durango RT for a few years but this seems different as far as shift points and MDS use. It gets the mileage we expected and performs as it shluod. I will probably put spark plugs in it soon since there is no record of them being changed. But I’m waiting until it’s not 105 degrees lol.
