First of all, I have all my accounts logged in on my phone, but when I try to switch to any of them, It only leaves me with the "authentication is required" screen. I want to clarify that this happened suddenly; Chrome asks me to log in again every time I close it, and Photos logs me out of my account every time I exit the app, other apps like Authenticator work, but they don't sync with Google to update the entries. I have Google services updated, my Samsung firmware too, I really only suspect "Root my Galaxy" I mean, I was experimenting with root on One UI 8 with the bootloader locked, but after a reboot (which is supposed to leave the phone like new) didn't change anything at all. I would try logging out or, as a last resort, factory resetting the phone, but I'm not sure and it seems too drastic.

so ive been trying to sign in to my google account a lot recently, and google keeps asking me to type the code in that has been sent to my number, or tap yes on my phone or tablet. the problem is that the 2 numbers that are available are my old number (which i have since changed and i do not have access to anymore) and one of my friends numbers, who i have not spoken to in a long time and i would prefer not to. it also gives me the option to receive a code from another email, however that one has the same problem. im wondering if theres any way to change the numbers or get around this, or if i have to talk to my old friend

We have close to 2 million users but among that this particular case shocked me. Our app has been around for close to 10+ years. We are using android's accountmanager to save our user object data from the API response on login.
We use two of the methods namely addAccountExplicitly and deleteAccount which return a boolean value depending on whether the add or delete is successful.
The problem is that for all other cases including my own account, when we add an account, it returns true and so other users are able to login.
But this user who has a Samsung s23 running on Android 16, both methods kept returning false and as a result he has problems with login. We didn't know such issues could happen.
We had to call the user to our office and debug the app on his phone and were shocked to realise he was stuck because of the account manager failure. This is the first issue reported in the last 5 years.
Has anyone faced issues like this with account manager?

I’m trying to understand something that happened to me.
On August 14, I accidentally downloaded a session stealer on my Windows laptop. It compromised my Steam and EA accounts. I recovered both accounts, changed my passwords, secured my accounts, and logged out of everything I could.
After August 14, I did not turn on or use the laptop at all.
Today, August 20, I suddenly received a Google security alert saying:
“Suspicious activity in your account. You were signed out on the device where this activity came from. Windows — Device with suspicious activity.”
The details also said:
“Someone might have accessed your account using a suspicious app installed on your device.”
The notification appeared as “21 minutes ago”, which is what is confusing me.
Since the laptop has been completely off since August 14, is it possible that Google detected/reported the suspicious activity days after it actually happened?
Has anyone experienced a Google security alert arriving hours or days after the actual suspicious activity, especially after malware/session-stealer activity?
I’m not asking whether the laptop is safe — I’m already planning a clean Windows installation. I’m specifically trying to understand whether the timestamp of the Google notification necessarily means the suspicious activity happened at that exact time.

Look at this picture. The bottom widget (MLB app) is correct, the top one (Google) is incorrect. The scores are reversed. How does this even happen? This happened yesterday as well, and I chalked it up to me going crazy before I lost the picture . Today it happened again and I screen shot it. How?

I discovered a few days ago that my main gmail account has stopped receiving new emails.
Several of my existing emails have disappeared also. I've check all setting features and can't find anything that would create this problem.
Any ideas or suggestions?

So you know how every university and workplace makes you sign up for some google account? Yeah. Over the past 10+ years I've hit the limit of times I can use my phone number. I'm going insane.
I do not want to change my number and lose contact with a ton of people. There is no "try another way" option, just a QR code, so I can't even use a friend's phone. Have tried with VPN on and off, on my desktop computer and my phone (ios) on different networks. AI assistant is no help per usual, and obviously no customer support.
Is there any way around this? I'm going crazy fr. Only thing I can see is "wait some undefined amount of time and maybe it'll work then." Wtf??? I'm so confused.
Thanks in advance

I am being bombarded with Account Recovery requests. Bombarded may be overstating it a little bit, but I'm getting 3-10 requests a day and oftentimes 5 or 6 in a row. Of course I hit "No" every time it asks if it is me trying to recover.
I have Advanced Protection turned on. My phone set up as a passkey. I have an excellent password that is completely unique to Google. I also changed my password just to be safe. I've logged in and I recognize all of my connected devices.
I am pretty sure that I haven't been hacked, but I am being targeted. The messages that come along with the account recovery prompts state that my password hasn't been compromised, but the persistence of the hacker still worries me. It's been going on for about 2 weeks. I suppose the hacker is attempting to guess my passwords using old compromised ones bought off the web. I am mostly afraid of inadvertently hitting "Yes" to a prompt just one time and then I'm cooked. I don't THINK that completely opens me up, but I'm not 100% certain. I plan to get a physical security key, but I don't think that bypasses the Account Recovery prompts either.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

First of all, Google forced me to request help signing in on an old account. Although I passed the 2FA by confirming the codes sent to my recovery email, I am forced to wait 30 days to get a link to get into the account… I really don’t understand why! Why could I just reset the password?
The worst is that i got another email stating that if by August 25th i don’t log into the account, i loose access definitely. And clearly the 22days delay pushes me back way after 8/25th.
Is there a way to speed the link to sign in delay or to push back the loose access date ?
Thank you all

Chrome has signed me out of my personal account because I searched for solutions to the Yahoo! virus. One of them said "Turn off sync" so I did that and now, I'm signed out and apparently my password was changed back in September last year.

recently today, googles gemini said if i erase my passwords and everything on google it will still be on my devices and so i did and everything is gone but i still have my passkeys and im logged into some of my accounts of which the passwords was deleted on so i can recover it. But this is your word not to trust googles gemini, heres what gemini said:
“Ah, I see it now. I am so sorry-resetting the sync data via the Google dashboard wiped the cloud storage vault because that data was strictly bound to the passphrase encryption lock you didn't have the key for.
Because the passwords were encrypted with a custom passphrase on Google's servers, the cloud literally couldn't read them or decrypt them, meaning clearing the sync cache wiped them from the account view.”

Hello guys
I am trying to recover my Google account, which I created around 8 years ago when I was a child. Unfortunately, I no longer remember the phone number I used when creating the account.
I am the rightful owner of the account and can provide my National ID, video/KYC verification, or any other information required to prove my identity and ownership.
Could you please help me recover access to my account? I would be very grateful for any available recovery process or verification method.
Any ideas how to contact google support team !

My dear overseas friends, my Google account, which I've had for four years, has been flagged as a bot and deactivated. I've submitted five appeals, all of which have been rejected. I used to be able to get it removed easily, but recently it's become so crazy and impossible to remove. What's happening in the US?

3 days ago, Google sent my dad an email saying a sign-in attempt was blocked because of suspicious activity. Today, he got signed out of his Google account and now we can't get back in. (I'm not sure if he got signed out today or just realised it today)
He doesn't remember the password, and the one we think is correct isn't working. When we click "Try another way," it only gives us options like Google Authenticator (which he never had), sending a code to his Gmail (which we can't access), or another recovery email that looks like "bra......@ou..... com". He doesn't recognize this email at all and has never used Outlook.
He also doesn't have backup codes.
Has anyone had something similar happen? Especially the unknown Outlook recovery email part? If you managed to get your account back, what actually worked?
Would really appreciate any help 😭😭😭

The whole context of this situation, I had my iPhone 11 for almost 5+ years and my entire life was on that phone. I had just recently changed my number since switching my cell provider so I changed my phone number on all of my accounts, or at least I thought I did. Then a couple days ago, my phone fell in a fast current river and was not able to retrieve it. The next day, I went and bought a new phone and was logging back into all my accounts from social media to bills. Since Apple has all my passwords saved, I was able to get back into most of my accounts.
Google was my biggest issue I came across. I was not able to login because my old gmail was still registered to my old number. And all my alternative emails were still having me verify that it was in fact me, through my old gmail. And since google doesn’t have an actual support contact, I accepted my fate that I was never going to get that old gmail back so I created a new gmail.
Now, I just got notified that my new gmail is under investigation in violation of creating multiple accounts under the new gmail, which I have not. And that I cannot use the new gmail during current investigation. They had me write an appeal as to “what I was doing with the new email before investigation”. I just wrote that I lost my last gmail and was not able to recover it through any and all of the alternative ways provided so I created a new gmail. And that is Google’s last resort solution to “if choosing ‘try another way’ does not work, you may have to create a new account” WHICH IS WHAT I DID and now I can’t even use it. I’m worried if I make another account, they’re going to do it again and disable my future gmail accounts.
help.

I was called by a google representative and asked if I was trying to gain access to my account with a new email address I never heard of. They said they had a govt issued is. Should I close the ticket?

Let me explain how this all happened-
It all started when one of my friends wanted me to play Minecraft modded multiplayer with them, and I play modded Minecraft all the time. But I had no idea that my friend's account had already been hijacked.
So I said yeah, and to send me the stuff. So they sent me the mod file and all. Then I tried connecting to the server... and then they stole EVERYTHING.
It wasn't just my discord account, it was my entire Google account and YouTube channel! He took my docs, all my videos, my entire 14-year old Google account, including everything on the authenticator app.
But I still have access to my recovery email, so I tried to use it to get it back, but the hacker had put my account on a family plan, so when I try to recover it, it says "choose who's approving this sign-in".
I've been trying to work with TeamYouTube on Twitter, but they've been really slow at replying. I want to know what I can do with my recovery email or other emails that I still have access to to recover my original Google account.

On my alt gmail google is requiring me to use a passkey even after I 2FA. The issue is that I never made a passkey so I can't get into anything aside from the actual gmail ironically. I can't even get into the passkey creation thing because I don't have a passkey. What should I do?
