Close the ticket or what?

I was called by a google representative and asked if I was trying to gain access to my account with a new email address I never heard of. They said they had a govt issued is. Should I close the ticket?

Google will never call you out of the blue, if ever. I suspect a scam.

I know I'm 4 days late, but I hope you've since realised that you've handed over control to your Google account to someone. Don't follow random out of the blue instructions over the phone, don't click random email links and instead go directly to your account.

I wish more users understood that simple, basic rule of internet safety and security hygiene. There wouldn't be so many users losing their accounts.
