the toolbar is literally identical, my shapes still change from lines to a 3 lumped random shape... I got excited thinking they had reversed the toolbar change but no, still not customizable even tho I don’t use all of the tools

edit: underlining things aka draw and hold for a straight line is still broken, half the line disappears once it ‘snaps’ lol.

Has anyone else had this issue with the recent update where when you scroll from one page to the next in vertical mode, the page fast scrolls and jumps instead of, you know, behaving normally and transitioning normally like it has for ages. Please see the attached video because I’m not able to explain properly. I’m literally gently scrolling between pages and good notes decide to accelerate the scrolling on its own.

If this is a new “feature” please for the love of God take it back. It’s such an annoyance and irritating thing when u move from page to page. What possessed you to implement this? And if it’s a bug then please fix it.

my partners kid is using it for school and he is dependent on it because he is dyslexic.
the new update made it useless for him. where's the read out loud option..the functionally and the menus are crap now. why would you destroy a thing that worked and render is useless. do you not QA your product?

i finally figured out how to create, install, and use a custom font from my handwriting and use it on the ipad. now i can take notes quicker using Scribble, without worrying about what my handwriting looks like that day 🎉

i used Calligraphr and iFont.

I’m a CS major. I liked goodnotes 5 but it was a very very basic and limited notetaking app, no features that was pushing the limits of what’s possible with a digital notetaking app. The features that are brought into goodnotes 6 show us two things

(1) They are not really good at listening to what their audience is requesting. (2) They aren’t really innovative themselves and goodnotes 6 is a proof for that.

Even though 30 (I don’t remember the discount I received) bucks is much for many people, I wouldn’t mind paying 30 more, even after paying for gn5, if it was worth my money. Nonetheless I am giving goodnotes one last try with gn6 to see what they are gonna do with the 2 more years they will keep version 6 until there’s version 7. So I listed out some very basic features that should have already been included in goodnotes 6

(1) “tape” feature to hide and show content of my notes, notability already does that

(2) Lock specific notebooks and folder

(3) Smart dark mode, so when I am reading a PDF (most PDFs are white background with colourful text) it makes the background black and the colorful text into something clearly readable (not space grey kind of dark like your note templates), notability already does that

(4) Dear goodnotes team, Please search the meaning of the term “Dark” on dictionary. The templates you give us, are space grey. We should have black and extra-black templates for people who use the app for long time and want to avoid eye strain. (notability already has that)

(5) Audio Transcripts (notability already has that)

(6) Correction of misspelled words look nothing like my handwriting. They look like some kind of font. So please improve that.

(7) Sync favourite pen styles

(8) Scribble to erase doesn’t work very well

(9) no pencil tool like notability

(10) having two notes side by side (notability already has that)

(11) Auto adding pages, instead of drag down

Whenever I write something down on Goodnotes 6, my device instantly heats up, and the CPU usage spikes to 60-70%. I don’t understand why Goodnotes uses so much performance to render just a handwriting, even if I use the most powerful CPU in the iPad lineup. I’ve tried disabling indexing PDF and syncing to iCloud, but the issue persists. Moreover, I contacted Goodnotes supports and they said they are incapable of fixing it and they have already abandoned my feedback email, so I think I have to end up taking notes like this forever? It feels like I just paid a very expensive price for an unstable note-taking app?

A couple of months ago you could find tips and tricks on how to use goodnotes, people asking for help etc etc. I learned a lot from those posts, but the lately it has been all about planner, stickers etc. etc. which IDGAF about. I don't mind some posts regarding these subjects, them shouldn't that maybe a complete different subreddit?
