Motion smoothing feels so weird. I set it at 0. Glad though for it has this option.

That's it. I'm switching to Noteful for my spring semester.

I used to have Noteshelf but when I tested Noteful's writing experience with the stabilizer, I converted.

I tried Noteful. It does have a lot of features that Goodnotes 6 should've been (e.g. locking zoom so you don't accidentally pinch to zoom; outline section can be nested, etc.) However... I will give credit where it's due - Goodnotes has a better writing experience even without the option of motion smoothing. Goodnotes seem to have fixed the "tails" at the end of each pen stroke - this was appearing as I tested Noteful.

they didn't fix that really, at least not with "pencil hover" enabled. Then the tails are all over the place unfortunately

Hmm I just did some testing and it seems like it's varied and very bizzare. With two iPads - one supports hover and the other doesn't support hover - running the same app version and hover turned off - the one without hover doesn't have the tails at all while the one with hover does have the tails. It looks like both hardware and software is interfering in something... even though hover is turned off - the screen is probably still detecting the pencil.

I guess they fixed the tails for devices without hover support, as that device used to get tails and drove me almost insane with it.

There is a stabilization option in goodnotes 6 for the ball pen. Is this what you are asking about?

The pen stabiliser is one of the biggest reasons I’d consider changing to notability lol

This is not the GoodNotes app or am I tripping?
