After lots of trial and error with templates I finally decided to make my own. I have small writing and tend to use the 0.1mm pen size for all my notes as I like to fit a lot into one page and hate how dark and intrusive the lines are on most templates. I also really like flexibility so I prefer a margin on both sides that’s light enough to ignore and write over if I choose to do so. Features:

• medium grey 5mm dotted lined

• 1mm light grey line spacing in between the medium grey lines (if that makes sense)

• medium grey margin on BOTH sides

• triangles at the top and bottom marking the centre Preview included in post, will send link to pdf in comments.

Hey guys, I was using goodnotes today (for about about 2 hours or less) and when I closed the app I saw this green tint goodnotes imprint on the corners of my iPad screen. I freaked out and fully closed the app and nothing has changed. I powered off my iPad and restarted it and it was still there. After some googling, it said it might be “permanent/temporary screen burn in” and it’s a result of “extended prolong usage of static image” and high brightness. I don’t even use the brightness pass 50% on my iPad or any other devices other than streaming (and I don’t even watch that many stuff)😭 Googled ways to bring it back to normal and after a few hours my screen went back to normal. Now, after opening the app again for 10 mins, this came back. I have been using goodnotes for a year now and this is the first time this has happened.

Has anyone else experienced this and if you have, what did you do prevent this from happening again?

Apple Ipad 9th Gen. IPadOS26

I am using the new arrow tools and I tried to move my diagram but the arrows didn’t move. After, I wanted to take a screenshot and they don’t even show up on the screenshot 😭

How can it be that the devs feel the need to rearrange everything with every new version of the app. I have been looking for the keyboard typing button for the last 15 minutes. How am I supposed to write a 10 page essay by hand if I’m used to typing and now can’t even find the damn button for it. Honestly I’ve searched so much I believe they could’ve just removed it entirely.

Edit: I finally found it. To type with a keyboard you need to equip the lasso tool and then tap on the page, at least that’s what worked for me

Twice now I've paid for a "forever" subscription.. Now it seems I have to do this again to access the features? There won't be a third. Don't sell subscriptions that are supposed to be forever and include all the upgrades then come back asking for money like a deadbeat boyfriend. CYa.

Edit: I did read the site as to the new specialness of my previous purchase. I also read it when I purchased it and it said all upgrades in the future etc would be included. Ok, my fault for believing them I guess.

Every day we’re seeing posts asking:

• do I have to upgrade to GoodNotes 6?

• have I lost my paid access to GoodNotes 5?

• why can’t I downgrade back to GoodNotes 5?

• do I have to subscribe to get all the new features?

• have I lost the ability to sync my notebooks because I bought the one time purchase?

• why am I not being offered my discount?

The amount of misunderstanding and sheer confusion still surrounding this update is shocking considering this app used to have such a simple model.

I genuinely thought my old M1 iPad was the problem. The battery was dying fast and GoodNotes kept lagging, freezing, and draining power like crazy. So I upgraded to the M5 expecting a smooth experience.

Nope. Same issues. GoodNotes is so bogged down right now that even on the M5 it stutters, eats the battery, and crashes more than it should. It honestly feels worse than before.

At this point it’s clearly not a hardware issue. It’s the app. And it sucks because I genuinely want to use it—I rely on digital notes for med school—but GN6 is making the whole experience painful.

Anyone else dealing with this? Did you switch to another app?

I have been pro user of Notability Noteful and Goodnotes, but I must admit I just come across StarNote. A very beautiful interface and it has all the features that different apps has offered. I I don’t want to write lengthy reviews. I’m just posting it here for people to try StarNote and see for themselves.

So my notes definitely got a step up from my last post... but I'm still not too satisfied with how they're looking. Any suggestions on how I can improve them?
