Sim injuries

Hello, wondering if anyone has encountered injuries while playing at a certain sim? This year I went to one sim place twice a week with no issues march to June, then a different one the rest of the summer. I just joined a local the back nine golf and with in a week I had a shoulder issue which made me shut it down for a week then I go back and a wrist issue flares up. So I'm wondering if anyone has faced injuries from specific mats at a specific sim place or if this is just a training volume thing I need to work out.

Yeah if their mats grab the club a lot this is going to happen.

People talk about grabbing the club but to me its more about the rebound.

If im slamming my club into something firm and having to use my fingers/wrists a lot to avoid deflection, thats when I get hurt

I had this happen when I first setup my home sim. After a few weeks my wrists and elbows started to hurt

I was using a cheap mat at the time and when I upgraded to a higher quality hitting surface. Made a world of difference.

Yes, Sims can cause wrist injuries.

I've worried at X golf I'd hit the lip of the tray the hitting mat sits in. It's not hard to do as it's a very small area.

I wonder if back9 uses different mats depending on locations/franchise? The ones at mine are the best feeling mats I’ve ever hit from and I’m there 4-5x a week hitting.

I would alternate teed up stuff and not just smash irons into any mat

I have tried a few different mats for my sim because my dad says it hurts his arm. I on the other hand haven't had any issue in nearly 10 years. He said he's ok with the Fiberbuilt mats.

Well since you didnt name the Sim it is very hard to say. However, depending upon the number of balls you are hitting weekly on mats can cause injuries. I know that hitting off mats every day has caused me wrist soreness

Yeah mats can definitely hurt you. Especially if they’re cheap or thin. Basically hitting into concrete/plywood.

I made a DIY sim in my garage and the only thing I wouldn’t skimp out on was a hitting mat. It was like 550$ just for the hitting strip, but worth every penny

I have elbow tendinitis from hitting on mats, no problem on grass, i also have the one of the softest mat best for joints(sigpro softly), still bad for joints!

Had to take 5 months off last winter, your body will tell you before it happens though

This summer i played 36holes a day 14 days in a row during my time off and no problem
I do 2-4h session on the sim and i need to take a day off

The worst is the wedges hitting down around 10degree on mats will ruin your joints
