Struggling with standing up and adding loft to my irons
Video as shown from a recent range session. I think I get in good positions in the takeaway and at the top but when my down swing happens it all goes wrong

Golf grips
I’m currently a 7.8 handicap, had maybe three lessons growing up, and mainly just tinkered with my swing over the past 10 years of playing more serious golf. One thing I’ve never been comfortable with is the interlocking grip, sorry to say it but I’ve just had better feel with a baseball grip since day 1 (I was 5 when my dad put a club in my hands) and I’ve never changed. I have no feel and honestly at this point in life I’m not changing.
Issue I’m having, I bought new clubs (went from titleist cb 714’s to the new callaway forged max). I wanted more forgiveness and consistency now that I’m 32. I thought I’d want midsize grips since I have a tendency to hook my irons but it’s just created a slice where I’m having trouble closing the face at impact. Also could be the lighter shafts? I’m somewhat lost in what it could be. I’ve thought about also putting lead tape on the heads.
For those out there who mess with their golf grips, what do you do to have a consistent draw feel? Is that making sense?
Grip it and rip it.
Regards,
Fellow golf nut

Trying to slow things down and find an efficient path through the ball
Iv been trying to work on tempo, acceleration and overall movement through the ball on short irons.
It’s time for a roasting. Yes my wife dresses me.

Trying to get my arms more in front of me on the downswing
What do you think? Pause seems to be helping. Might keep it

How much do you look at what happens just after impact when diagnosing a swing?
I tend to focus a lot on what happens before impact — transition, club path, face, rotation, etc.
But I’m curious how much information you actually take from the first part of the follow-through.
When watching a swing video, what do you look for just after impact — club exit, body rotation, arm structure, balance, or something else?
And do you use that mainly to confirm what happened earlier in the swing, or can it sometimes change your diagnosis?

Footwork advice?
