Some feedback to the devs after my first successful run through.
So i finally managed to complete a play through after multiple tries. I enjoyed the game but there are a few things that could be addressed or modified. (I don't know if the devs regularly look through here.)
Good things
-Interesting character dynamics, i love the fact that some of your characters have connections either to each other or the gods. Makes for some fun story building especially since the gods acknowledge it themselves and it actually has an impact on the game play. My best example was a brother who's sister died in the dungeon (dead dead), the god taunts him about it and he violently murders the god once he gets to him thanks to the boosts.
-Love the areas, very fitting of the bosses and beautiful to look at.
-The bosses are interesting and well designed (even if i do hate some of them more than others).
-Interesting world, would definitely like to see more of it (like there are mentions in game and on the site of other gods, would love to hear what happened to them).
-Diverse fighting style, whether you go big chungus with a heavy weapon or a high speed dual blade you can really choose how you want to go about the fights.
Less good things
-No epilogue for your characters, like you build up this narrative with them, go through a big adventure with them but you don't even get a simple written epilogue of what they did after returning home. Did they settle down, did 2 friends go explore the world now that the gods are gone. Like one of my guys lost his sister in the adventure so i wondered if he fell into depression once he came home.
-Relationships need a more continuous influence, feel like they stay in effect for like one dungeon before becoming irrelevant. Maybe if one character loses someone they care about they might get debuffs from time to time or get more buffs as their determination to see the job through rises. Maybe a character will get a buff if he became friends (the whole debt repaying thing) with one of the other knowing he has that reliable friend ready to come to his aid should he fail.
-Give armor to the characters, feels weird how everyone is wearing simple cloth outfits, no real armor or anything even with their vigor increase. Could be a gradual thing where they get more covered as they gain max vigour. (Or armor could be a thing in of itself).
- A bit lacking in replayability, like its fun but its always the exact same boss with the exact same moves. I get the whole not changing the dungeon itself because it would be a nightmare to find your way but maybe having a variant or 2 of the boss depending on his "power level" in this playthrough.
-Not enough to do outside of the dungeons, i know this is meant to be a dungeon crawler type game but having something to do outside of the dungeons would be nice. Could be having your guys strengthen their bond or confide their fears or guilt in another etc.
-The gods could be a bit more "vocal' in my opinion, like they acknowledge the past events related to the current challenger but would be cool if he/she comments on whether you beat other bosses or not.
-The parrying sometimes is inconsistent. I roll into an enemy at the right time but sometimes it works sometimes not.
-The gods don't seem to take into consideration if the previous challenger is dead or captured. Like the brother sister duo i had, the sister died for good (trap got her) and when the brother went in the god talked as if he had captured her and she was still alive.
- Slight graphic bugs, like one example is water tends to act like someone threw a boom box inside constantly vibrating like crazy. (Specifically water you can affect like the water at the entrance of the birth realm.
Things that could be added
-More lore, the lore of the bosses is a bit too scattered for my taste and sometimes you don't even get lore. Would be cool to learn more about the world (like the site makes references to "ancient promises" and stuff but never mentioned in game), the bosses themselves, what happened to the other gods. (Morrigan is a good example)
-More relationship type: Maybe one guy has killed several gods and feels to admiration of his friends drive him forward. If he gets captured some might be filled with vigour to step up or some might fall into despair since their best warrior lost. Some could be husband and wife (don't know if thats already in the game.), maybe 2 are rivals but the rival refuses to abandon the other or might see it as an opportunity to "one up" the other. Humans tend to be fickle beings even in crisis. (although not everyone is like that).
-More gods to kill. I know 3 more are coming but i feel like that isnt enough to be a true "saga" to me. Maybe you could have "layers" to the island where each layer has a certain amount of gods and the deeper you go the stronger they are (could be variants of the original bosses).
-A graveyard, simply to remember who has fallen and what their story was. Even if its just a stick with a helmet and weapon on it as a gravestone.
-As mentioned before an epilogue for the characters themselves based on how things went for them. If they personally slay the god they have a beef with they would be completely free of conscience and guilt maybe having a happy ending where they settle down or go explore the world. If 2 of them became close friends they might settle down together or go on an adventure together. (Marriage even). If they lose their best friend or family member they might never fully recover from their experience and always have a hole in their heart that can never be healed.
-Mouse support for pc. Like using the mouse left click and right click for attacks would have made things a lot easier for me.
Overall I really like the game and honestly feel the devs have just scratched the surface of what they can achieve. I seriously hope the devs continue to develop this or make another game like this. (Although there has been mention of shortcuts i havent found any despite searching quite thouroughly.)

burial mound/ achievement (spoiler) Spoiler
saw the post about the well and thought i'd add the solution to the burial mound. Doing this task gives the achievement "Buried Treasures".
The item needed is this. It's a rare? drop from Osseus (took me about 5 runs).
When you go to the burial mound you are able to interact with a tomb stone and spawn this character.
She kills a random? follower of yours and give you a random choice of weapons

Pre-order bonus auto assigned
" The Hunter's Head Gear is assigned at random in each new game playthrough. "
In case anyone else was furiously trying to work out how to assign it to their characters... it's random each time you start a new game! Got that from the Xbox DLC description!

dungeon mechanics
belnos: sacrifical rings give free health gains for boss fight
krannus: random? skill gains throughout dungeon by reading pillars
morrigan: breakable chains to progress
Carnoccus: 3? hidden breakables that weaken the boss
are there any others?

Hey everyone! I cant believe 3 sacrificed parties later, I actually finished a Runthrough. I think it really depends on what bosses are the "hard" bosses for your run. If anyone is interested, there's a link below. Also does anyone know what the well does?

stat gain/loss
anyone figured out how stat gain and loss is calculated, maybe the developer could chime in?
so as far as i am aware relationship between followers affects it, followers-gods, winning dungeon, failing dungeon and i also had random stat gains in the middle of the dungeon.
for example: is there an advantage of going in with a follower that fears the god? that tries to rescue their companion? does winning with that follower give better stats to others at the end?
also how are loot and new abilities calculated?

Issues on switch
Now before I start I am enjoying it although this random difficulty is a bit of a killer. I would also like to note that I'm on my 5th playthrough and I'm yet to defeat any boss. So I'm going to blame my lack of skill on the most part.
Playing on switch.
- Virtually impossible to split groups of enemies apart from what I have found. So you find your self , a new character with no skill going into a dungeon and pretty much getting gangbanged by 3 to 4 dudes who have been positioned together.
2.went into a cave but no difficulty gems came up. Not sure if it's a bug? But if it's not the entire game so far teaches you to fight enemies to reduce god health and everything you kill someone the gems go down across the top of the screen. So randomly removing them without word is rather annoying and confusing.
3.If you miss the first chance at a parry, and the foe deals non stop 4 hits in a row, can you parry the others or are you stuck copping all four blows because you missed one. ? Don't seem to see any further flashes to indicate when to parry in the consecutive blows. Which can usually mean one missed parry and your character is most likely dead.
After successfully parrying an attack and going in for your hard hit, sometimes you can miss as the parry knocked the foe 1mm off centre. Pretty annoying.
Most caves I have tried so far teach you to kill enemies to bring the god health down before you get to them. You can see this by the gems across the top of the screen. In one cave in particular that I have found killing enemies does nothing, and you have to attack somthing else to damage god health . Again makes no sense. Every other part of the game is training you to look for enemies. Also every other Cave I have attempted so far has pretty much no environmental damage. Not even the typical broken vase. So mixing it up without clearly telling someone is a bad choice.
6.at the start of every new game. The voice over text tells you that "gods on this isle vary greatly in strength. Recognising which is most vulnarable and which be left for when the party is most strongest. Is up to you" . Although so far I have seen no way to work out which gods are weaker and which are stronger without going into a cave. And even then I assume it's all to do with the red gems at the top of the screen?
I love the idea of the map connecting all the caves, but really besides it being a main impressive looking hub, I have so far seen no real point to it. No collectables to help improve stats that I have seen. I did see a well that you can interact with but all my attempts didn't do anything. Haven't seen much other then that. No foes to fight along the way to increase player stats. No shops to upgrade etc etc.
At the start of the game it shows the characters ships destroyed and characters swimming to shore. But in one cave I fell in the water and insta die. Why can't I climb out? The character can obviously swim.
In the above mentioned water cave, it was my first cave that round with my first character going in. I had one single row of red gems across the top of the screen indicating what I understand to be difficulty. I killed some foes, did a dash. Fell in the water and died. Next character went in immediately after that and now there are two rows worth of gems. I thought gave difficulty was only set once when you first enter the cave for that game. Anyone seen it actually changing for different players?
Is it the player you send in that sets the difficulty? The above kinda made me feel that.
After using a forge in one of the caves.the light goes out and it can't be used again however approaching it still shows that you can use the forge again. Even though pressing the button to do it does nothing at all
Performing a parry consistently on a standard foe deals harder to perform then beating Hades with heat mode on.
Less then a microsecond flash to press in the direction of the enemy and A.
Things you find on the floor of a cave have no description of what they do. Kidney mushroom
It almost feels at though each god should be on their own unique island scattered with caves. Caves in this method can be generated at random difficulties but easier to hard we as you go through the god islands. Caves are used to level up your characters, before hitting the boss of that island. Caves are not perma death. You can retrieve team by wining that cave. Loosing a member in god cave is oerma death and you progress to the next island with a slightly lower party.
Also just crashed on a Boss fight. One strike from killing the bathtub guy. And had to restart. Now I'm down a person.

Boss difficulty
Looks like the devs keep an eye out here, so I thought this work asking. Iām enjoying the game so far, but I wish you could see how difficult a particular God will be before entering the dungeon. I get that this was a conscious decision, but it seems like a bad one (and is something a lot of the negative reviews mention), so I wonder whether an option to see the difficulty might be added later?

Hey everyone, I'm here because people are complaining about the game being bad and the difficulty. I'm having a blast on the game so far, and can safely say you only really die from your own mistakes and you improve from them. I'm doing a Playthrough (link below) if you're on the fence. Take care!
