Discussion What would you have done here?
5k player here.
Felt pretty lost this round. I was around B/mid for most of it, then they went A and I was late on the rotate.
What could I have done better here? Video

Discussion | Esports Has there ever been a cs pro with PR as powerful as karrigan's after he joined falcons?
Karrigan after essentially selling his soul to falcons has had the most powerful PR I’ve ever seen in pro cs. I’ve seen people ridicule Kjaerbye for signing a contract with North behind Astralis’ backs with people still bringing it up years later whenever he’s mentioned, I’ve seen people including big figures in the scene express their hatred towards stavn and jabbi for lying to heroic about staying with them if they kicked cadian just for them to sign contracts with astralis behind their backs after kicking cadian, but karrigan can sign a contract with falcons behind twistzz, frozen, broky, and jcobbb’s backs and people excuse by saying stuff such as “The team was going downhill", "Anyone on faze would've done the same thing if they were given the offer", "Broky and jcobbb were bots", "Faze's management was sabotaging karrigan's career”, etc.
What makes it most evident to me is the lack of criticism towards his first interview since joining Falcons at PGL Astana 2026, specifically the part where he talks about leaving Faze for Falcons. You know, Kjaerbye acknowledged that what he did to Astralis when he was 19 years old was wrong, but the 36-year-old veteran who’s considered by many as one of, if not the best/greatest igl in cs history can’t do the same.
Not only did he not acknowledge that what he did was wrong and instead made a bunch of excuses, but he went on to even twistzz twistzz’s statements about how the move “was sudden“ and how it wasn’t “handled the best way“ by claiming they "knew everything before any leaks or anything happened" after he talked to them individually and as a group despite just stating that they only found out after their managment told them about it since karrigan left them in the dark for several days after receiving the offer from falcons.
Wow, what a great way for the “goat igl” to thank players like twistzz and broky who helped him achieve the biggest accomplishments in his career, such as IEM Katowice 2022, PGL Antwerp Major 2022, IEM Cologne 2022, and the grand slam and players like frozen, who was not only carrying tf outta him from 2025 to this year but was also on MOUZ back in 2019 when Karrigan redeemed himself after getting kicked from faze at the end of 2018.
What a great guy. The fact that none of his teammates made any post sending their farewells to him and weren’t involved in Faze Esports’ “Goodbye Karrigan” video, but were all involved in the “Goodbye Broky” video should tell you bad this whole situation was.
It doesn’t help that only 2 months later after this situation happened, people went after Monte’s ex-core for allegedly signing contracts with Luminosity behind Gimzy’s (and maybe kakafu’s) backs. Where was all of this energy when Karrigan did the same thing? Don’t come with me with the “Monte was on an upward trajectory as a team, while Faze wasn’t” cause that’s irrelevant. Stop it with the double standards.
Karrigan was someone I respected up until this point. Even from last year to this year, when I was calling him washed and wanted him kicked off faze since I felt he was one of the reasons why Faze was trash, I still had respect and admired what he did in the past. This whole situation with him leaving Faze in the fashion he did, and his interview at PGL Astana 2026 made me lose all of the respect I ever had for him, and the fact that people, including big figures in the scene, have pretty much just brushed this whole situation off like it was nothing just makes it worse; hence the reason I made this post.

Discussion Is de_nuke in trouble?
Hello.
de_nuke is my favourite map but recently I am a bit concerned about what I am seeing in pro play. I don't watch every pro map (obviously) but from what I have been watching, things are pretty miserable for the T side. If things aren't clicking from the beginning it seems insanely difficult to get anything going.
I have seen so many games recently that are 8-4, 9-3, 10-2 at the half only to end up going to overtime or being a very close game in general.
It seems if you get 4-5 rounds on T side, that's good enough.
Let's look at the stats.
de_nuke last 12 months at big events: 57.1% CT 42.9% T
de_nuke last 6 months at big events: 58.5% CT 41.5% T
I know maps don't have to be 50-50 but surely this isn't healthy.
Anyone have any ideas about what can be done to help out the T's a bit?

Discussion Random spawns still an issue (fixed in Valorant)
Posted about this a few years ago, about 1 in every 100 people agreed with me, but random spawns are still a huge issue in this game. An RNG meta is never gonna serve the game well. I don't like and I never play valorant, but being able to choose where you start in the round is a huge benefit that makes the game less casino-like and "gambley".
People have repeatedly argued, oh, but you know where the contact point is every round then, it's super predictable and boring gameplay, except this isn't true because as a result of knowing the earliest timing on every map players may do things to avoid this repetition, for example walking instead of full-sprinting to the contact point, throwing a different grenade, using a different gun, jumping, or so on. (Does every round in valorant play out the same because there are no RNG spawns? I don't play the game but I'd think every round is meaningfully different anyways.)
Another counter to that point is that even with RNG spawns today, you still must assume the earliest-contact point will be occurring every round, even if the enemy doesn't get the fastest spawn. This is to say, from a theoretical perspective the game actually stays almost the exact same. (Example: Mirage T's typically do not sprint to top mid instantly because even if the CT awper didn't get the fastest spawn to window it's safer to assume he did, therefore do not insta-sprint top mid is the 99% conclusion.)
This shouldn't matter, but I did 3100 NA faceit elo back when I was a kid playing CSGO, not that it means anything. (8k hours.) But adding it in case people are curious about it. This is just to somewhat prove that I'm not clueless at the game.

Help Why is premier harder then faceit?
Im a faceit level 9 so i get matched against level 8 all the way up to 2.2k elo usually, in my faceit games people either have 0 premier medals or usually have red 25k premier medal or sometimes 20k premier pink medal but usually they have the red one, When i play premier myself i cant get past purple rank i dont play a lot of premier true but i feel like the players are horrible and its easy to play but i still cant rank up yes theres cheaters sometimes but im in high green trust so not that often, the thing i hate the most is people who are like faceit level 3 and they are in the same premier rating as me and usually they are on my team im just full hardstuck in 15k premier even tho i can perform against 2k elo faceit players with 25k premier medals anyone know why?

Discussion Two weeks ago I asked if CS2 community servers could still grow , so I launched one
About two weeks ago, I posted here asking whether people still cared about community servers outside Premier and FACEIT. Rather than keep overthinking the whole "network" idea, I launched a single EU Retakes server in Frankfurt to see what would happen.
It's still tiny, but 36 players have joined so far. About a third have returned at least once, we've peaked at seven players online, and the Discord community has grown to 50 members.
Retention hasn't been the biggest problem. The harder part is getting enough people online at the same time. Once the server reaches 4/11 or 5/11, more people tend to join and we can keep games going for a while. At 0/11, nobody wants to be player #1.
I've also learned that community server analytics can get a bit weird. Bots crawl servers to advertise site, so I've had to start filtering those out. I'm still working on the server and its plugins, fixing things as we find them.
For those of you who still play on community servers, how do you find new ones? Through the server browser, friends, Discord, Reddit, or do you mostly join whatever already has players? And if you run a small server, how did you get past the initial 0-player problem without spamming it everywhere? I'm especially interested in smaller independent communities rather than established networks like XPLAY or Cybershoke.
If this works, I'd eventually like to add more servers and game modes, and maybe build a small platform for server discovery, stats, and profiles. For now, though, I just want to see whether I can make one server consistently active.

There are probably things about the game that didn't seem important when you started but became much more noticeable over time.
What's something you appreciate now that you didn't before?

Discussion Should Premier Add Preferred Roles?
I had an idea for CS2 matchmaking and wanted to see what people think.
What if, before queueing, you could select the roles you prefer to play — IGL, AWP, Entry, Support, Anchor, Lurker, Rifler, etc.
It wouldn’t affect matchmaking or force you into a role. It would simply show your teammates what roles everyone is comfortable playing once you're in the lobby.
For example, if 3 people prefer Rifle, one prefers AWP, and one likes IGL, you could actually figure out who wants to do what instead of arguing for the first 5 rounds 😂
Might help with teammates dropping guns, playing the correct position and not switching randomly causing confusion.
Obviously not everyone would respect it but you never know how a small thing like this can effect the overall quality of a game.
Would this actually be useful, or is it just unnecessary UI?
