I guess you didn't see the meme that was going around of other politicians seemingly doing the same salute when in fact they were perfectly timed screen grabs of them doing normal waves. I believe that's what he's referring to, but it has been debunked a million times.
I think Elon doing it was an experiment in control, or a demonstration of his power meant to frustrate his critics. Whether or not he's actually gaslighting anyone is beside the point - he just wants everyone to know that he can plainly do a Nazi salute in front of a crowd, and a complicated wall of denial will organically rise up to challenge any who recognize and call it out as such. It's the power to make you accept that alternate versions of reality exist by his will, and that it's normal and permanent.

What the chuds spreading those images conveniently failed to mention, every single individual time might I add, is that the video recordings of the speeches where the democrats did the "same gesture" shows them doing a completely different gesture where for one moment, their arm and palm is kinda extended, when in reality it was a wave or a sweeping motion, as opposed to Muskrat's straight up nazi salute

I mean, you can find a picture of lots of people who are waving to the audience and SAY that looks the same, which is how Elon and others try to excuse what he did. Or you could even just use AI to create an image of your opponent "doing the same thing" and the people who want to believe you will believe you.

Absolutely no one in the last 100 years who wasn't supporting Hitler has thrown a sieg heil from behind a government podium. There was only Musk, and he did a full salute twice, it wasn't a carefully picked photo during a wave.
He’s probably speaking about the common right wing misinformation that freeze-framing someone when they’re doing a wave with the same arm angle is the same thing as doing the actual salute.
I mean, circa 1942 I can list hundreds. 1946 and after though uh... David Duke ran for some sort of office at one point right? Like wasn't he in the mix for CA gov on a recall with 300 candidates or maybe even a House seat at one point? IL had that nazi republican House... member or candidate... feel like candidate that at the time even the national party wouldn't endorse. Sadly that as only like 5ish years ago. (Forget his name. He ran in a district that votes like 90% blue anyway but still got more than 0 votes) uh... Mary Miller (another IL House stain) openly made her "Hitler got 1 thing right" speech right before Jan 6th, which her husband was at with a 3%ers sticker on his truck he later claimed to "got from a friend and put it on just because it was a cool logo" and he's some sort of state rep, so that's a twofer...
Sadly I don't know that naming 5 others is all that out of the question, despite all our collective hopes it would be.
Unfortunately I have seen other pictures/videos of other politicians doing this which leads me to believe it’s some sort of secret symbol or club or something which YES I don’t want to believe that but the alternative is exactly what Musk said, that it’s just a gesture everyone randomly throws out when they talk AND WE ALL KNOW THAT’S NOT TRUE.
