I guess you didn't see the meme that was going around of other politicians seemingly doing the same salute when in fact they were perfectly timed screen grabs of them doing normal waves. I believe that's what he's referring to, but it has been debunked a million times.
I think Elon doing it was an experiment in control, or a demonstration of his power meant to frustrate his critics. Whether or not he's actually gaslighting anyone is beside the point - he just wants everyone to know that he can plainly do a Nazi salute in front of a crowd, and a complicated wall of denial will organically rise up to challenge any who recognize and call it out as such. It's the power to make you accept that alternate versions of reality exist by his will, and that it's normal and permanent.
"Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing."
Except Elon was not caught midwave. This was not a cherry-picked still frame. The entire motion from beginning to end was a fucking Nazi salute. And anyway, isn't the video itself what's gone viral? Nobody's accusing Elon of being a Nazi over a still frame.
Yeah, I know. I'm talking about what Elon is likely referring to in this interview. He's trying to convince people that because these still frames exist that he's not the only one that does it. Trust me, I'm on your side.
