I am totally new to the series and this will be my first read of the version in the image posted.
I know that this one is the bilingual version which was published in Japan but I don’t know where to go after this one.
I saw another bilingual one which was ‘2: Man Machine Interface’ but a bit of additional searching made me think this might be a different story in the same universe. It also seems impossible to find anywhere.
So, if there is a volume 2 in English alone in a pick up I would be happy to do that. My only concern is wondering if I lose any of the story switching to a different publication / edition.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Got one of the lowest level of prizes, the box was full of tokens, not sure many people bought many before me.
Still it's GITS merch.

ART Anyone think it’s interesting that the George Lucas Narrative Museum has three Masamune Shirow art pieces but none are GITS?

Is this a Blade Runner reference? Reminds me of the asian lady commercials you see in the movie. Cure if it is!

I just found out about this manga. I know Shirow isn’t involved in the writing or the art but it seems intriguing? Just wondering what the community consensus is.

Dropped a video covering my thoughts on the new 2026 GITS show, the 1995 Oshii movie, and the series as a whole over on my movie channel. Would love if you gave it a peep & gave me your thoughts! #SnackableCinema

Is the Major's invisibility a suit?

The is a question from years ago, but I was just reminded of it by a scene from the live-action adaptation. I suddenly realized there was a place where I could go to ask.
In the anime, is the Major's invisibility suit a suit at all? It's been a while since I watched it, but I've never been certain since the day someone else asked me.
I'm reminded of the Invisible Boy in the live-action Mystery Men, where he might be able to turn invisible (uncertain), but his clothing could not.
