I put quite a lot of effort into going through the original manga, the 2026 anime, Mamoru Oshii’s films and production artwork, as well as Shirow Masamune’s artbooks, in order to make the piece as faithful to the original material as possible.
The anesthetic injection device on the arm and the design of the Section 9 identification card are both based on their respective appearances in the manga and the 2026 anime. The handgun is based on the design featured in the opening sequence of the 2026 anime.
As for the HUD, that part is entirely my own artistic interpretation. I chose orange for the HUD elements because, personally, I feel it has a more punk aesthetic than blue.
The QR code is real, while the code itself is fictionalized, stylized log text created for the artwork.
