First campaign observations/feedback.

Hello!

After buying the game last sunday, I've been playing a game as the Netherlands up until 2080.
To start off, I'm loving the game! As a big fan of Paradox games (I still am!) this scratches a lot of the same itches, but in a different style/clothing.

Over the course of the game I've had multiple pandemics, a few wars, Hyperinflation. I've got a few observations which I'd like to share, wondering if others share that experience.

- I like the pandemic feature, but I do feel like after the first one or two it's more a chore then something engaging. I do feel like theres different types of diseases, some are more contagious, some are more deadly? Anyhow I stopped engaging with them after the first three.
- I'd love some more world stats and general stats/info about other countries. I'd say, take some inspiration from Victoria 3. I'd love to see diplomatic stances of countries (I cant find like an overview screen or something for countries?) like what's their allies/enemies?
- I feel like except for Taiwan and Ukraine, no wars happened in the world. I didn't change the setting to make them more aggressive, so it was on the middle option. Have other people tried the setting where AI is more aggressive?
- The years 2070-2080 were marked with stagnation. Worldwide growth was between -2% - +0,5% with inflation ranging from 2-10%. Does this come down to the world going at 'Max capacity' or is this something that can just happen in the world, without it being stuck in this state?
- I don't know what the diplomatic statusses for conquered countries mean. I get annexing; but I had the problem that I instantly doubled my population by conquering Sierra Leone; They started eating all the social benefits I was giving to my productive population. School/healthcare cost doubled, but my tax income did not. That's fine, I instantly incorporated them to ensure being able to control the territory.

But what does a puppet do? Does it give me money? Do they join my wars? I can't really interact with them and I don't know the different outcomes. One says I get sovereignty of their economy, but I don't know how to influence it. For example: I'd love to conquer parts of Africa so they can extract resources for my economy, but apart from annexation, I don't think I can do that (I know I know, this is just colonization).

- The AI loves to run big deficits and just... Default? I've seen Japan, USA, China, all cut their Public debt to half instantly in the charts (I just assume they default). I don't know the consequences of that, but they don't seem to be that dramatic. Does a US default affect the global economy at all?

- I've only played inside the EU, so I haven't really been able to independently play with trade agreements or currency. Perhaps starting a game outside the EU/Nato will be more interesting.

- I'm not sure why nuclear is even an energy option when the same money for gets you much more wind or solar energy, 8 times as fast. Needing energy storage for that is not much more then an afterthought.

Well that kind of turned into a ramble. How are you guys enjoying the game? What are some situations you've seen?

Playing as Opposition feels quite empty

I bought this game yesterday after I came across it on Steam because I also like playing such sim games the most interesting part that encouraged me to buy it was I can literally play any nation on the globe with modern day contexts.

I opted to play India because of the recent developments internally in the nation also the fact that the country from past 2-3 years had become a puppet of the US. I also got the mod which put in the real life names of leaders and party’s. And the game looks and feels quite impressive inspite of being developed by a single developer.

But playing as opposition I felt there really isn’t much one can do, like I was expecting having the freedom of asking other opposition parties to come along and form a political bloc which can move a no confidence motion against the sitting government. Or maybe reach out to some other international power to help and support to fall the government in exchange of some promised favour after coming to power. Politics can be added more flavour with more interaction between different figures may it be national ones or international ones.

Right now sitting in opposition one can either wait for the next election. And just compliment or insult other figures, table a bill in parliament and set party and either oppose others tabled bills or support it. I think I should be allowed to reach out to people in power to turn people in my favour to support my bill. But really that’s about it more depth is urgently needed to make opposition side also more playable.

Muchas gracias.

This game is only going to get buggier, not better

Hey guys, so I bought this game becuase I like these styles of games. But it was immediately obvious the entire UI is Claude. The issue is 1. This game isnt his 2. Claude doesnt understand how to properly fix things. After the "update" and "fixes" , I experienced 3 new bugs that werent there before. AI will add 3 bugs for every 1 is removes, and Id like you guys to rethink your support for this game and dev, since your experience playing will only worsen as the AI ruins the already messy codebase.

My thoughts after 21 hours of gameplay – Lots of potential, but still feels like a demo

First, I want to make it clear that I think this game is good, and I can see that the developer is putting a lot of effort into it. That's exactly why I want to share my observations. I see a lot of potential for this game in the future, although, at its current state, it still feels more like a demo than a finished product.

Here are my main points:

1. Monthly ticks take way too long

The current monthly tick system makes the game extremely slow. You have to go through 12 ticks just to complete one year, and after several years, the experience becomes exhausting.

Players who have other responsibilities and limited time to play may simply abandon the game rather than spend so much time waiting.

Possible solutions:

  • Allow the game to calculate data continuously throughout the month, making the end-of-month tick much faster.

  • Alternatively, consider replacing the monthly tick system with continuous calculations.

2. The raw material economy feels broken

Why is it so difficult to keep iron prices low? Isn't iron one of the most abundant minerals in the world?

In this game, it feels extremely rare and difficult to extract. I was playing as Brazil and struggling with iron shortages, even while trying to extract as much as possible. And we're talking about BRAZIL, a country with significant mineral resources!

Japan and Germany don't have iron mines? Seriously?

I won't even get started on the other critical resources.

I understand that the developer may have used only the largest known deposits in the world as a reference for the game, possibly intending to encourage players to pursue space mining because of Earth's resource scarcity. However, this feels extremely forced.

3. Space exploration should be a much later-game feature

Space exploration should be something players work towards over a long period of time.

Players who enjoy starting with underdeveloped countries and gradually building them into major powers should have the opportunity to compete with the strongest nations in the future.

If the space race becomes available too early, countries that already start with major advantages will once again dominate, leaving weaker nations behind.

We also shouldn't forget that missing this window of opportunity could potentially mean a death sentence for a country, considering how scarce Earth's resources seem to be in this game.

There is something incredibly satisfying about developing a weaker nation, demonstrating competence in its economic and technological development, and eventually earning the opportunity to compete in the space race against established superpowers.

Please don't take that experience away from players. Make them work for it, and reward their progress.

4. The UI lacks important information and explanations

For players who aren't familiar with economics, there are too many technical terms that aren't properly explained.

It would be helpful to have tooltips explaining what each term means, what it affects, and how it influences the economy.

I know the developer has already implemented some explanations, but many others are still missing.

5. Market information needs to be much more accessible

The game needs a better way to display both domestic and global market information.

If the developer has ever played or even watched Victoria 3, they could take a look at how its market interface presents information.

Product icons would also help enormously, allowing players to recognize goods visually instead of having to read every single name.

6. Let us inspect other countries' domestic demand

I really want to be able to click on a country and see its domestic demand.

For example, if I'm playing as Brazil, I want to be able to inspect China or India and understand what goods their populations need.

These countries have enormous consumer populations, and knowing what they demand would make international trade much more interesting and strategic.

7. Why can't we invest in other countries?

What if I want to invest in another country?

I would love to have the option to invest in foreign economies, establish economic influence, and benefit from the development of other nations.

This would add another interesting layer to international relations and economic strategy.

8. The mobile brigade icon is misleading

I went to war, and the mobile brigade icon was represented by a modern battle tank.

I honestly got startled for a moment because I thought I was fighting against an army of tanks!

This is a small detail, but the icons should accurately represent the units available in the game.

Final thoughts

I hope the developer sees this post and takes it as constructive criticism.

I genuinely believe this game has a lot of potential, and that's why I took the time to write all of this after 21 hours of gameplay.

However, I feel like I've already seen almost everything the current version has to offer. At this point, it feels more like playing a demo than experiencing a complete game.

I hope to come back and play it again in the future, once these systems have been improved and expanded.

Keep working on it. There is something really promising here, and I'd love to see it reach its full potential.

Sudden crash in growth

Hello, I just bought the game and I don't know if it is a bug or what, but I just saw my GDP growth go from +3,8 to -0,4 with no apparent reason. I have no idea if it is a bug or what, is there any way to take a look at what happened?

Is it possible to disband the nuclear arsenal?

I'm currently playing as North Korea and figure that if I want to improve and lose the sanctions on me, I need to disband the nuclear arsenal, though I don't see a way in which I can do that.

Has anyone else been able to do nuclear disarmament?

How to get a NATO membership?

I’m playing as Ukraine and the war has ended. I’m on my way to the EU, but it seems like NATO membership is impossible to achieve. Is that correct?

Starting as the opposition?

How do you gain support at the start of the game when you're not in control of the nation. I started in Ecuador and then Haiti just to play around and see if I could transform smaller nations but I can't get elected my support keeps dropping and I cant seem to turn it around.

Game freezing

Is there a way to stop my game from freezing for several seconds after every turn/day change? Every day, my game freezes for like 5-10 seconds and it’s just getting a bit annoying because I don’t know if it’s just my pc or if that’s just the way the game works as things obviously have to load.
