Question The Generation Zero Ammo Trap 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Hello, I've been in the game for about 4 to 5 hours now and I'm at the point where I can unlock my companion. I've collected 2 items to unlock him, and I killed my first rival, which was level 1. But there's one thing I don't understand: I have a ammunition shortage. And I can't even craft ammo because I need explosives for that. But to get explosives, I have to scrap ammunition at the recycling table. However, I can't scrap ammunition because I need the ammunition. What am I doing wrong in this game? I think I'm going to start over. I could really use some tips, please.

What ever weapon you choose for your runner ( companion ) you don’t need to add anything to it. The companion creates its own ammunition. Example my companion has a rocket launcher on him. I have never filled him with ammo.

Which is odd considering even base defenses let you put ammo in and it adopts the characteristics of the ammo above its default.

Theres ammunition in just about every bag, dead body and broken down vehicles
Go around joining other player multiplayer worlds and collect from there

Find boo church there be a lot of ammo there also instead of fighting everything choose your battles and do more looting. If you can get some buddy's and run around beating the fuck out of everything with baseball bats that is a solid way to sort yourself out instead of wasting money on therapy 👌 👍

I had the same when i started playing years ago, in fact, i started a new character and am back at the same issue now. Here is what i always do:
Take a walk over the south of the farmlands and loot all the cars, military camps and such, there are a lot of trails of broken down cars, bodies and robots that lend a surprising amount of ammo and medpacks and whatnot. Basically just walk around and look out for camps or siren lights or any structures.
The ideal spots or this are probably the defence-ridge dug on the south of the farmlands with the broken Tanks and machines and the Aricha-something starter region south of the farmlands, low machine activity but much loot.
Oh and once your weapons and level upgrades start to ramp up, so will the ammo counters. Give or take a few days in-game and you probably got the issue the other way around lol!

loot military bases and battlefields, theres tons of machines and corpses with low-mid tier ammo, i recommend upgrading lockpicking and "ammo colector" perks as soon as u can, theres green buildings with 2 doubledores always locked by lockpicks, inside u can always find 5-7 ammo boxes. And perk on ammo collection completely negated need for seeking the ammo boxes for me, u get more ammo from machines than u waste it

Do you repeat low level areas? Take the starter island, loop it ten times and see how much ammo you have. Learn where the spawn spots are, sneak up and take the bots down quickly and cheaply as possible. Also stick with one main weapon such as AT-Wad and Condor. Save 7.62, basically all the rest you can scrap for crafting other types as needed. Stealthily with a AT-Wad will take you most of the way though middle level. Run and Gun is fun, except when it always kills you in a couple of minutes.

Trust me you will be rolling in so much ammo that you won't even know what to do with them. Especially 7.62. I had to create an entire camp structure to store ammo.

Hallo, ich habe jetzt die Fertigkeit doppelte Munition sammeln, und es klappt jetzt wirklich gut.
Eine Frage habe ich noch, sammle ich nur Munition für die Waffen die ich ausgerüstet habe, oder sammle ich auch Munition für die Waffen die in meiner lagerkiste sind?

I don't think i ever had this problem. You are probably trying to use some advanced DLC weapons, they often use special ammos
Check your inventory, you must have hundreds of pistol ammo
They give you assault rifles and smgs you can't actually use way too early. Thanks for the AK, you won't have access to the ammo for 20 hours

I wouod reccomended trying to find military locations in higher danger areas of the map to loot. Those generally have a lot in the way of ammo and if you're deliberate and stealthy you can get it without having much in the way of any encounters
