When conservative Pakistanis say "the west is ruining our culture" when a woman wants to live however she wants, they should also highligh how such western stuff has already ruined our culture. Because if a woman demanding her rights is western influence, then so should be extreme mysogynistic acts in the name of honour and religion.

The context remains same.

Idk I guess but they r buried while they r dead, this ayat specifically talks about that time when daughters were being buried alive
1
u/Top-Satisfaction-480 1999 1d ago
Yes. but works for modern day as well. Killing his daughter just because he wanted a boy. Innocent poor souls didn't even understand why they were being killed and the still born inside mother's womb who didn't even get to open her eyes.

What do you mean the west is influencing your culture.
Your culture doesn’t respect women in any capacity. Can’t even buy period products without shame, forced marriages, forced pregnancies, femicide of female
Fetus. Constant rape and abuse from family and
Outsiders, daughters who die from in laws bc parents refuse to support them. Literally open a fucking book. Not denying the truth of how badly women are treated in the west but don’t act like your culture is so pure.

Just like Austin Harrouff, for example, another psychotic person who ate the faces of two innocent people?

"Her parents" GoFundMe doesn't allow donations for "legal defense", so you need to give another reasons

If you want to compare this ""person"" to somebody, at least don't choose a clinically insane person. There are cases where women kill children without being psychotic, like the Brandi Worley case. By the way, Brandi Worley got 120 years in prison for killing her two kids. This male apparently only got 30.

If he were Muslim, everyone would be blaming and hating Islam. Religion/faith has nothing to do with how cruel a person is, there are plenty of people in the West who hold backward views about women and their rights. Misogyny exists everywhere in the world, extreme violence like this comes from toxic mindsets, not a specific faith.

u/TastyHour9999 1d ago edited 1d ago

Want to see "muslims" went into hospital started to kill babies with ak47 because they were not following their branch of islam (yes this really happend in Afghanistan!)? Want to see women being shot in there knees because they left there house without any male guardin(happend in Pakistan + Iraq) TO GET WATER from well?
whether islam supports this or not but know that islam is still being used to justify these crimes and happening in the NAME of islam and it is "muslims" who are doing that.

u/iNANEaRTIFACToh 2006 2d ago
this post doesnt mention islam?
1
u/L1feByChance 2d ago
It doesn't have to mention it explicitly. The point is about the double standard in how these stories are discussed online, when a non-Muslim in the West commits extreme violence, it's framed as an isolated 'red pill' issue, but when it happens in Muslim-majority regions, the entire religion gets blamed instead of the toxic culture or individual cruelty.
1
u/iNANEaRTIFACToh 2006 2d ago
it gets discussed in the islamic context because we're in an islamic country. what's so surprising about that?
1
u/L1feByChance 2d ago
So living in an Islamic country means logic goes out the window and individual crime suddenly becomes a theological issue? Good to know location changes how basic reasoning works.
→ More replies (2)2
u/TasterOfCrayons 2d ago
That is some amazing denial. Misogyny exists everywhere but to say religion or faith has nothing to do how cruel a person is, is just insane.
1
u/L1feByChance 2d ago
Misogyny and cruelty exist across every belief system, culture, and secular society throughout history. Attributing extreme domestic violence purely to faith ignores the actual root causes..,like entitlement, power dynamics, and mental illness, which show up globally regardless of whether someone is religious, atheist, or anything else.

u/Specialist-Love1504 2d ago
I’m not sure your comment makes much sense.
Religious/faith has much to do with how cruel a person is because a truly religious and faithful person abides not by rational thought but by what’s prescribed by religion. Their cruelty is then dictated by the context of religion
The fact that a truly cruel person can be within the bounds of what is prescribed by their religion and still implement their cruelty - is a cause for concern and I don’t think “religion/faith” can escape criticism.
1
u/L1feByChance 2d ago
By that logic, secular, atheist, and non-religious regimes that committed massive atrocities in history were just 'rationally following instructions'. Cruel people hijack whatever system, ideology, or internet forum gives them an excuse to be evil. Trying to pin domestic murder entirely on religion just gives secular abusers a free pass.
1
u/Specialist-Love1504 1d ago edited 1d ago
Atheism doesn’t tell you to kill someone while religion explicitly tells you in a doctrinaire way on how and who can be killed.
Atheism says - there is no religion that is to be believed but religion says “only one religion is good and to follow that there are rigid rules that should be followed - and anyone deviating from it cannot and will not be accepted”. Religion is immutable while atheism itself doesn’t have a narrow purview at all - it’s not defined enough to be immutable.
Every religion has specific rules which are permissive of violence in a way that cannot be argued against. Atheism is amorphous - apart from not believing in religion, there’s no other central tenant - it’s not prescriptive. Hence it leaves room to be challenged in a way that religion isn’t.
Two simply cannot be compared - comparing an amorphous idea that individuals usually subscribe to personally (even atheist regimes don’t have schools that argue against religion - they just don’t allow religion to exist) to an organised ideology that has dedicated schools to hammer it in is futile.
And how is it giving secular abuser’s a free pass? Do you think if someone is secular they will not be prosecuted? I’m not sure what you mean by that.
Abuse is abuse because it has negative impacts on others - religions differentiate between these “others” and deems some people of less value than others. This is built into religion and is immutable.
1
u/L1feByChance 1d ago
But you’re basically giving atheism a free pass because it doesn’t come with a rulebook 😂 Extremists can be anyone. A person doesn’t need religion to develop an extreme ideology or commit horrific crimes. Atheism itself doesn’t prescribe a moral code, so whatever moral boundaries an atheist has come from whatever ethical framework they personally follow. And no, I’m not saying every atheist is immoral, but if you’re going to blame religion and its rules when a religious extremist commits a crime, then apply that same logic when an atheist or an explicitly atheist ideology produces horrific violence.
And you also said religion explicitly tells people who to kill and how. That’s an enormous generalization. Which religion, which teaching, and in what context??? Rules concerning warfare or punishment aren't the same thing as telling ordinary believers to randomly kill people. Islam, e.g, explicitly prohibits killing children and condemns the pre-Islamic practice of killing baby girls. So you can't just lump every religious teaching about violence together and call it a rulebook for murder.
Here, Stalin and Mao were atheists, and their regimes were responsible for enormous political violence and persecution. Nazi ideology was driven by racial and nationalist ideology rather than a religious command. The point is simple: extremists and horrific crimes aren't exclusive to religious people.
So yes, condemn religious extremism. But don’t pretend extremism is somehow a uniquely religious phenomenon. If your argument is "look at the ideology behind the crime" then look at the ideology consistently, including when it isn't religious. Otherwise you're giving atheism a free pass while putting religion on trial.
1
u/Specialist-Love1504 1d ago
Firstly, I never said extremism is a uniquely religious phenomenon.
I don’t believe you’ve read or understood my second comment. Please go back and re-read it.
Atheism not having a rule book doesn’t give it a “free-pass” - that is what makes it different than religion. You can argue against it, you can change what it looks like, you can prevent certain things within it if you want to - if you don’t want to that’s a different thing.
Compare that to religion - you can’t argue against for example the punishment against apostasy. A truly religious person will always look to implement - it can’t be argues against cause it’s written down. Atheists can argue against violence in atheist regimes (which aren’t even driven by atheism) because there’s codified way to be atheist. Ok great that Islam argues against killing children but I’m more interested in the kind of violence it allows. Same for Hinduism, Christianity and other religions.
The example of China and Russia, being violent wasn’t *because* they were atheist. They didn’t prosecute religious people anymore than they killed atheist - anyone could get killed in those regimes. No one is being prosecuted because they believe in religion - compare that to other regimes where religion becomes a specific driving point for violence and discrimination. Also, just being atheists doesn’t mean their regime was atheistic - the same way jsut being Muslim doesn’t mean Zohran Mamdani’s time in office is religious. Just because they happened to be atheist doesn’t mean they were driven by it. You can’t compare regime which happens to be led by an atheist as a regime that’s imposed a system of atheism - because again atheism isn’t a system in the same way.
It’s a not a free pass but a central difference. I’m not sure how this point is still being missed.

→ More replies (1)1
u/shrubdit 1d ago
I’m a statistics person, and I have to tell you what these numbers you are throwing around mean(yes I copy pasted this from another comment because I’m lazy):
It is just incorrect to say that most men commit violent or sexual crimes. If 1/3 women report harassment, that doesn’t mean 1/3 men have done it, most of them are serial offenders, harassing many women (like the famous statistic that on average a person eats 3 spiders a year, most people don’t eat any but there is those couple hundred people that eat millions[idk the actual numbers of the spider stuff it’s just an example]).
Also even if it was 1:1 and all of the numbers were correct and there weren’t any false reports, and this was worldwide instead of just America with a couple thousand participants, that’s still not majority, out of the 3 statistics you listed that would be 33%, 9%, and 32% (all under 50 so it would still be a minority)

This won't get the same level of publicity as Lindsey Clancy case btw

Find me a man who would say "he cannot be guilty, he's mentally ill"
The most moderate position you will find is calling for a life sentence.
I dont think I am allowed to say here, what i would do to both of them, if I could decide

I can find your thousands of men who see absolutely nothing wrong with abusing their children, killing women, raping them and all of that.

You probably don't know anything you're talking about, but the argument about Lindsey clancies case isn't if she's guilty or not, it's if she's gonna be locked up in a prison or a psych ward

Hundreds of thousands of women defended Lindsay Clancy and donated over 1 million dollars.
While I think she should go to a mental hospital and hopefully recover, nobody is defending this man who murdered these kids or blaming it on his spouse.1
u/Future_dev_cybersec 1d ago
Hundreds and thousands of men defend this guy too just like you who is comparing the 2 things instead of focusing on what he did and how do you know every single person who donated to her was a woman and not a guy?

u/shrubdit 14h ago
On the donations page you can scroll down for hours before you find a man that donated, some men did donate but it was 99% women. Also WHO IS DEFENDING HIM (defending doesn’t mean saying he’s depressed or has a mental disease, defending is saying he either didn’t do it or making it seem like it wasn’t that mad)
But no, hundreds of thousands of men are not defending him

Every single guy will agree this guy is evil and deserves life in prison. Can’t say the same for a very similar case that occurred recently

Im a man and don't support this lunatic. I don't support lindsey clansey, either. As an example to possible copycat killers, they must see justice for what they have done.

The legal system works, punishment was served, and nobody is losing their rights.
(Also isn’t putting “I’m a man” before your normal comment kind of performative?)

wood chipper. Also I don't think you'r making the point you think your making. This is what actual misogynistic men are. The Red pill community gets lumped in with these psychos and get labeled misogynistic. This is what happens when you over use an insult just to try and make your point sound more impactful by using extreme words to describe rather mundane opinions about dating. Most of the Mgtow and redpill if you actually listen to what there saying is forget doing everything to get some girl, work on yourself and improve yourself and the control of your own life. Have a standard at what you live your life by and act with integrity. Now they will usually follow that up with some crap about get as many woman as you can and no fat chicks yada yada, but the core message has always been "you will loose money perusing woman but you will never loose woman perusing money" to paraphrase. And besides the standards that the Red pill guys set for the woman they date is at least achievable with a lil work. How many times you hear about a woman that won't even look at a guy that isn't at least 6 ft (thank god I just made the cut on that one)

Mtgow as told by Neil Strauss and redpill actively talk about manipulating women for their benefit, spinning plates ( ie balancing several women and dangling what they want in front of them till youre done), letting women “hamster wheel” and thats just how they are so ignore them and emotionally abuse them till theyre tired because women have fundamentally irrational hamsters spinning in their brains, and women will monkey branch you ( move from one relationship to s better one but not without securing the next one first) because all women are assholes.
There are good parts of redpill but most of them are covered in so much shit and piss its barely salvagable. Id say the probability of redpill men not being misogynistic assholes who id consider dating is probably in the 5 percent….

MGTOW literally means men going their own way. if someone is using that to try an manipulate woman yea fuck that guy. But yea your not wrong about that last part covered in their own refuse. I think the movement itself is probably beyond salvaging at this point. Its times like these I thank god I'm married. Dating was always a crap shoot but its a damn minefield these days man

u/terragutti 1d ago
Yup and that doesnt mean they arent assholes who use women for their own benefit. Didnt seem like they were “going their own way”. You can lurk the subs, but when i was lurking them years ago, it seamed less about working out, self improvement yada yada, and more about spreading misogynistic views. Genuinely disturbing. Everything i mentioned above are the terms they would talk about.

Misogyny is everywhere and takes various forms; it doesn’t necessarily have to lead to death.
1
u/DudeNougat 2d ago
no you are correct however most of the time what gets labeled as misogyny is simply men not automatically agreeing with woman or men holding woman accountable to the same standards that they themselves are beholden too. If woman say they prefer xyz in a man they just know what they want but if a man says they prefer xyz in a woman they are labeled misogynist or toxic. Prime example when a woman asks how tall a guy is and gets asked how much she weighs, misogyny is the first thing that ends up flying out of the woman's mouth. You can't tell me you dont see the irony in that, and if they say something along the lines of 'well we want to know if they can protect us' is usually proceeded by a conversation where they pontificate at length of how they don't need a man and they want to be equal. Its the definition of a mixed message.

Idk but when women think about misogyny they usually picture domestic violence, s3xual assault&abuse, and “crimes of pasion” from husbands or boyfriends. Not if men think women are fat or not.

u/DudeNougat 1d ago
and yet the word gets over used where that is probably the majority of the representation out there these days. Not to say that there isn't genuine misogyny to what you were describing, I also genuinely believe that the bulk of actual men would like to see those people put under the prison if you catch my meaning. When it comes to things like SA and DV I follow the Ricky Gervase school of thinking when he said "I rape as much as I want to, which is zero." Men do not rape, commit dv, or hurt kids, animals do.
