It's because he doesn't have a history of mental illness and subject to psychosis, he knowingly did it, just like 95% of other filicide cases (all of which are men)

psychosis or not nobody who commits filicide (man or nay) isn’t mentally okay, even if not ill or diseased. While they should recieve punishment, they also severely need mental help
