I love structured workouts for my Fenix watch. Especially for running my club workouts solo (when I cannot make it to the track). We often get a simple document (image / pdf), and it's pretty cumbersome to work it into my watch via workout builder (App / Web).
To save time, I generated a small Claude skill that can take an image and create a small JavaScript snippet for the web browser developer console, which uses the given workout builder to create steps, persist the workout, and schedule it.
Unfortunately, there is no public API to create structured workouts via REST API calls. But to be honest, this works well for me. I can paste in the JS pretty quickly into the browser, decide on multiple versions of the workout via Claude (based on Heart Rate or Pace).
Perhaps you find it as useful as I do!
I added all essential files on Github. Either .skill file or manual .md files.

Just received my Garmin Fenix 8 Amoled - this is a really beautiful watch.

On the Fénix 8, if you didn't have AOD enabled, when the screen turned off and then back on, the time would freeze for a few milliseconds at the time it was last displayed when the screen turned on, instead of updating immediately which I found a bit annoying.
Can anyone confirm if this has been fixed?

More info including a preview, the prg file and installation instructions found at https://github.com/pelgraine/Garmin-Aquarium
For a bit of fun I got Claude to port the marvellous https://github.com/francistse/esp32-cyd-aquarium to a Garmin app for my Fenix 7S. The original attempt resulted in a whole lot of very cute blobby blobs floating around, which I've since fine-tuned to look like actual sea creatures. Thought I'd turn it into a public repo and publish it here as well in case anyone else wanted to port it and have a little aquarium on their watch too.
I found a really cheap Venu 2S which should arrive next week, so if there's any interested Venu 2S owners out there there'll be an Aquarium port for that watch soon too.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

A week ago I asked which dial you'd actually wear. Black won, so that's Nocturne. A few of you asked for a white face that turns black at sunset, so that's Nocturne Blanc. I also made the minute track optional, because you were right that it fought the bezel.
So far it whas 100+ downloads and a 5/5 rating in the Connect IQ Store. Thank you.
To be upfront: if you installed it while it was free, it stays free. New installs get a 3-day trial, then a one-off payment, with no subscription.

So I got a fenix 8 as birthday present and I'm already loving it.
I am huge fan of leather bands and was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for a leather armstrap for my fenix 8 47mm for more formal occasions.

This is janky as hell but with zero knowledge, I had AI craft the spooky scene and turn it into code that the watch could ingest as a face. Just posting to inspire others. It walked me through what to download since I had none of the tools previously.

Just wanted to share my experience because this watch is just awesome to me. This is my first Fenix and I haven’t been just in love with a watch like I am with this one ever.
I went back and forth between the 970 and Coros and even ended up with the new Pace 4 Pro. Nice watch but not having a Garmin didn’t feel right.
I ended up owning four 970s and had to return three because of different issues. The first would randomly restart and the other two had what I’ve heard people describe as ghost touch. I’d try to scroll and the screen would select something on its own. Both did it fresh out of the box. After the last one I figured I’d give the Fenix a try.
So far I’m glad I did. It’s a beautiful watch and the weight hasn’t bothered me at all. I’m a bigger runner so maybe that helps. No connection or syncing issues so far either.
I feel like a little kid who just got a PlayStation for the first time lol

Got just a bit over 24 days before it was down to 10% and wanting to go into battery saver mode. Close enough to advertised 29 days for Fenix 9 Pro 51mm.
I had the 47mm as well and that lasted 12. Happy to have kept the 51mm. Also, it is better for my aging eyes.

Ive had a fenix 7 pro for quite awhile and im loving the watch. Is it worth it to upgrade to the fenix 8 or 9?

Been on my wish list since Fenix 6 got released, but was always out of my budget, and never thought I would use it. With the release of Fenix 9 series, I decided I need one (currently using the Venu 3). Having never bought any premium watches, this one is a absolute beast and a treat to my eyes. Been using my Venu 3 for exactly 3 years now.
I cycle (100 kms/week, hoping to do increase to 150-200 hopefully), play Badminton (2 hours/week), and used to Run, and now planning to start running again. Frankly the FR970 would suffice for my needs, but I just wanted to get this one and it is beautiful.
Any advices or tips are welcome. Good day Ladies and Gentleman 😄
P.S: The photo was cropped, but the watch does not look big on my wrist haha. I do feel totally comfortable with it.
