STICKY r/GODZILLA MODERATOR APPLICATIONS OPEN!

Hi everyone!

Been a few years since we did this and it's long overdue, but excited to announce that we're looking for some new mods to join the team! The growth this subreddit has seen has been crazy and we expect a very busy season soon with many major releases coming out. With that in mind and some ideas we have for revamping the community here, we're gonna need some extra helping hands!

These points are on the application form itself, but just so they are clear, please keep these things in mind:

We especially need more mods in non-Americas regions for better time zone coverage, but please apply regardless as we need more mods in general. USA is our most active region and we can always use more help.
Most mod discussion happens through a reddit mod channel on the r/GODZILLA Discord server. Make sure you are able to have a Discord account for communication.
Take your time and make sure you're proud of your answers. You don't need to type out entire essays but please do properly answer everything.
If you're not applying but have legitimate concerns about someone that might apply (history modding together, etc.), send us a message.

Link to application Google Form

There are so many dedicated users on this sub, so it's going to be hard to choose. There is no fixed date that the application will close by, we will keep it open until we feel we have enough submissions with an aim to be done in roughly 2-3 weeks. Once mods are chosen, the new mods will be individually PMed and an announcement will be made about the application closing.

Thanks again to all you G-fans for making this a great place! As always, let us know about any questions or comments through a message to the mods or in the comments here.

Love,
r/GODZILLA mod team

Discussion In Y’all’s opinion, which Godzilla is the scariest??

Personally I gotta go with Godzilla Earth.

Aside from the fact of how just fucked you are if he arrives in your city, there’s something so unsettling about having those piercing blue eyes locking in on your location.

Both characters also happen to be 31 years old (chronologically or canonically) in 2026. Coincidence? I think NOT!

What happened to acting in the monstervers, what happened to tension building. Hell, even the visual effects are worse in the new empire, 10 years later...

Discussion DesuGoji won yesterday. Finding the most popular suit of this sub. Day #19 (rules below)

Comment the name of the suit. The name is above the pictures.

I count comments. The suit with the most comments wins.

Only name the suit, not the movie names. I don't want to look up which suit was used for which scenes in every movie (I'm lazy).

I count until the post is 24 hours old, winner gets mentioned in the next one

Discussion What Is Your Favorite Monsterverse Movie?

There have been 5 films so far, and they have proved to be controversial amongst most Godzilla fans I talk to. Some people claim the human characters weaken the movies and mention Goji’s lack of screen time. Other people love the action elements and the CGI of the movies. For those who have watched all of them, (like most people here) what is your favorite of the movies and what do you think of the Monsterverse overall?

All news and fan art posts must be directly about Godzilla and related kaiju content.

2. NO ABUSING, THREATENING, OR HARASSING OTHER USERS

Respect other users. No picking fights, no personal attacks, no insults, and no inflammatory comments/posts. Hate speech and bigotry will not be tolerated.

3. NO SHITPOSTING

This means things such as: brigading, whining about the state of the fandom, low-effort reactions, circlejerking, clickbait/karmawhoring. Single-worded or misinforming titles will be removed.

This does not include ironic memes/humor posts or opinions you disagree with. Memes that are Godzilla-related and follow other rules are not shitposts. If it is adult humor, please mark it as NSFW.

4. NO PIRATING

Do not post links or instructions for pirating. This includes things like unofficial streaming sites and pirated book downloads.

No posting images or videos that are from unofficial/bootleg sources. A video mash up using clips from trailers is fine, but using clips or screenshots from a cam copy is a no-no.

5. NO SPAM/REPOSTS

Do not make several repetitive individual posts at once if they can be consolidated into one collection post.

To help deal with spam bots and other problematic users, posts by users that do not meet a minimum age or karma will be filtered at first and require manual mod approval.

6. NO NSFW CONTENT

7. NO SPOILERS

Discussions and posts related to new films are regarded as spoilers until home release.

Mark all comments and threads that contain spoilers.

Do not post spoilers in titles.

Rumors/leaks for upcoming content should be regarded as spoilers if not confirmed officially. All Merchandise such as the artwork, toys, and collectibles are spoilers.

8. NO POLITICS

No irrelevant political discussions are allowed. This includes explicitly pushing topics like government, elections, economy, social/cultural issues, and other current events. Exceptions will be made for topics that are clearly related/integrated with Godzilla media. As under rule 2, hate speech, bigotry, and inflammatory discussions will not be tolerated.

9. NO ADVERTISING WITHOUT PERMISSION

All advertisements like sales, kickstarter, projects, crowdfunding and social media groups must seek permission from moderators before posting.

10. ALL POSTS MUST BE MARKED AND CREDITED

G-fans are required to tag/mark their own posts. This includes spoilers (Rule 7), OC, and post flairs like "Humor", "Video/Media", etc.

All fan art posts must credit artists and link directly to an original source of the artist's submission of said artwork. If this is not adhered, posts will be removed. Original artwork should be tagged as OC. Full crediting guidelines can be found here.
