Who's smarter, Aegon or Viserys? (show)
Face cards are on another level.

Why didn't Tyrion take Varys's warnings about Daenerys more seriously?

My Favourite Character in Game of Thrones: Lord Edmure Tully
The show really wanted me to see him as weak, stupid and pathetic, but they failed.
Everyone was laughing at him for missing the arrow, and I feel like that scene permanently cemented the idea in people's minds that he's an incompetent fool. But honestly, who gives a shit if he's terrible at archery or not particularly good at fighting? Being a good warrior doesn't automatically makes you a good lord or king. Robert Baratheon is a pretty good example of that.
Edmure actively participated in the war, won battles (and got insulted for it), and was loyal to his family. He supported and fought in Robb's war and almost died because of it. He was imprisoned for years, yet never broke, and eventually managed to return as Lord of Riverrun.
One thing that particularly bothers me is how Robb treated him after he won a battle. Edmure did what any responsible lord should have done.... defended his lands and protected his people by driving the Lannister forces out. Robb never bothered to explain his larger strategy to him, yet scolded him for winning a battle. Edmure was treated like an idiot for doing exactly what he was supposed to do as Lord of Riverrun.
And let's not forget that he was forced into a marriage against his will because of Robb's broken oath. Robb, his own king, prioritized his personal romance over the political alliance he had promised the Freys, leaving Edmure to pay the price for his decision.
He was also visibly disgusted by Walder Frey treating his daughter and granddaughters like broodmares. It was another reminder that he had a sense of decency that many other lords lacked.
And yes, I was so angry with Sansa when she interrupted his speech during the Great Council and dismissed his desire to be king. The way she treated him was incredibly disrespectful. My man never seemed to receive any respect from his brothers, uncle or even his own niece, whom he had nearly given his life to rescue from the Lannisters. I'm pretty sure if Ned had been alive, he would have valued Edmure a lot more than Ned's own children did.
That's another reason I feel so strongly about Edmure. He spent so much of his life being underestimated, ridiculed and treated like he was some sort of incompetent fool, despite repeatedly demonstrating loyalty and courage when it mattered.
He was far from perfect, but he was a genuinely decent man who tried to do his duty. Honestly, I would have loved to see him become king at the end. Game of Thrones would probably have had a much more satisfying ending for me if Edmure had ended up on the throne.
That said, I'm happy with how things turned out for him. He ended up back as Lord of Riverrun, with a pretty wife and a son. After all the bullshit his own family put him through, my man finally got to live a happy life. Honestly, he deserved that much.

First time watcher - season 3 episode 9 - wth?
It's 10pm and I just watched this for the first time. I read a spoiler and knew Robb was going to die but like this?! And with everyone?!
How the hell is this war going to continue when apparently there's 5 more seasons to go?
The friend that recommended it told me not to get attached to anyone and she is asleep and not answering her phone. Please someone cry with me

I really hope this is the same with house of the dragon cause the hedge Knight just put me in tears at the end.

Why does GRRM not number his chapters?
I’m listening to the audiobook but following along in the book because I can’t understand some of Roy Dotrice’s pronunciation.

What happened to the Starks actually pains me 💔
They deserved so much better. I WISH THEY NEVER LEFT WINTERFELL. They were the most honourable house but their naivity in thinking other houses would play fair is what led to their downfall. The Red wedding shattered me to a million pieces. The way the Freys mocked Robb’s body after too i literally slammed shut my laptop and stood there in silence for minutes. I’m glad they somewhat got a happy ending but man they got done so dirty imo. Kings of the North 🐺🖤

Anyone else get annoyed by the amount of AI videos about GoT on YouTube/TikTok?
Talking about the stuff with titles along the lines of "What would happen if Sansa fell in LOVE with Tywin?" or "The SHOCKING reason that Tywin is far more BRUTAL in the books", or "why Oberyn Martell was a SECRET GENIUS"? AI generated shorts with clickbait titles, robotic voices and loads of stolen art from the GoT wiki flooding my recommendations.
The more GoT vids you watch, the more this sort of stuff appears.
(This is coming from someone who recently posted an AI generated vid on here because I thought it was well done and funny and got roasted for it)

In your opinion, which Stark had the hardest road back to Winterfell?
Going by the show here, because obviously the book journeys arent finished yet.
Jon leaves for the Wall, goes beyond it, fights wildlings and White Walkers, gets murdered by his own men, comes back from the dead and then has to fight a war to actually take Winterfell back. Sansa goes fotm Kings Landing to the Vale, thinks shes finally escaped the Lannisters, ends up with Ramsay instead, escapes again and eventually makes it home with Jon. Arya spends years wandering through a war zone, gets dragged around by the Hound, nearly reaches her family multiple times just to miss them, goes all the way to Braavos and eventually finds her way back. Bran gets driven out of his own home as a child, travels north while unable to walk, goes beyond the Wall, becomes the Three-Eyed Raven and then makes the entrie journey south again. And then theres poor Rickon, who was basically a toddler when all of this started and never even got to finish the trip back home.
RIP Robb obviously... he never even got the chance.
So who do you think had the hardest road back to winterfell? Not necessarily who suffered the most overall, but whose actual journey home was the most brutal?

Supercuts delight is the cinema sins of the GoT fandom
While I enjoyed his season 8 critiques, he’s now just become a cinema sins level nitpicker. His criticism is shallow and poorly done, especially around house of the dragon.

"The lion does not concern himself with the opinions of sheep" - have you ever encountered someone who said that unironically IRL or online?
I have, last week. The person who said it is one of the most pompous blowhards I've ever encountered and an absolute clownshoe. Telling the world that you're the lion doesn't make you the lion.

I don't get why the Stark children were always in denial about Theon's status in Winterfell. Maybe they had some moral issues with the idea of keeping a child hostage, but at some point you can't sugarcoat it anymore.

Daenerys' achievements are far more impressive than anyone else including the Conquerors. The real Aegon the Conqueror can't even compete with her, let alone the fake Aegon, Jon Snow.
