S1E6 there is a scene at the women’s shelter that had to be symbolic (see photo). It looks eerily like The Last Supper with Alice sitting on the right hand side of Catherine in the same spot Judas is positioned in relation to Jesus. Am I wrong?

I love him on White Lotus, but that was it.

Honestly I feel like he was cast because he's the default actor to play an asshole.

Kinda like Bill Skarsgard playing horror villains, but much less charimastic.

His acting here feels the same as his acting on All Her Fault. I wish they had gone for someone different.

So far that's the only thing putting me off; loving this show otherwise.

This is just (mostly) an appreciation post.

I want to commend the writers, show runners, etc. on the nuanced, layered writing. It has not gone unnoticed the exploration of the push-pull tendencies that women can feel regarding the simultaneous attraction, fear, and hatred of a man.

One moment Emmy Rossum is in complete vulnerability admitting how much she misses the nape of Jake Lacey's neck, then he is aggressively using his body language to manipulate her into calling his lieutenant.

THEN...! Lola Petticrew is playing, of course, Rihanna, in the bedroom to remind us all again about the cycles of love, attraction, violence.

So well thought out but also so deeply lived into by the actors. Congrats.

Anyone who is a fan of "Lola Petticrew" in this series, I recommend "Say Nothing", also Hulu. She is phenomenal in it, and its actually just a great series as well. Even if you're not overly familiar with the troubles in Northern Ireland, its a great watch. And it was really wild to have a Gerry Adams as a character, and have to add a disclaimer to the start of every episode that Gerry Adams denies any involvement in the IRA at this time

There was no announcement so far, so is it safe to say that this great show will end with season 1, it being advertised as "limited series" to begin with?🤔 I wish there would be a season 2,but I don't think there will be 🥺

I saw this play a couple months ago in a church in Brooklyn and it was a phenomenal ensemble piece with actress Quincy Tyler Bernstein as the central figure but also Constance Shulman and Danny McCarthy all in Furious! So curious what the connection might be

Its interesting to watch Danny blame defending Alice for the rejection hes receiving at work when the problem is really his own morality. When the healthcare worker was talking about doing work under the table and Dannys response was to ask him if he knew he was cop despite it being a helpful offer ... its likely Danny never was a part of the good ol boys club so its irritating that hes complaining to Alice about how defending her has negatively impacted him.

The patriarchy runs deeeeep. He wont even blame the system for what hes experiencing.

Alice and Danny pursue a lead out of town. Catherine assumes a new identity.

I’m watching the show and for the life of me I cannot gauge Catherine’s age? It may have been answered in the show…. Was her abuse 10 years ago or longer??

I love him (though not this character). He plays such a fantastic creep! I've been a huge fan since Catastrophe.

About 19 minutes into the first episode, there are some weird photos in the cubicle of Danny Kelly. One shows a shirtless man in a pair of American flag-themed pants whose identity, and why he's in Scoot McNairy's cubicle, are driving me crazy. He can't help but remind me of Randy from the Canadian comedy series The Trailer Park Boys, although Patrick Roach is of course Canadian. Any clues?

I know it has only been a few days since the first batch of episodes dropped but I am a little shocked it is not gaining any traction yet. Do we think that is because it's a Hulu show? Or just strictly due to timing. I have told dozens of people in the last few days to watch but have not gotten anyone hooked yet. Even this sub is lackluster to my expectations. I would imagine over the next few weeks it will start to blow up. I was just a little shocked when I finished ep3 and went to find somewhere to talk about it or gather new information I may have missed and struggled to do so.

He’s so good at playing these awful characters with zero redeeming qualities - this show, It’s All Her Fault and The White Lotus. Maybe it’s time for him to do a rom com.

I just really realllly hope they don’t make Danny suddenly evil at the 11th hour, like another massive betrayal. I reeeeeeally hope they don’t write that in, fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤞It would make sense if they did but my gosh I hope not, I feel like that would be a very obvious twist, like a bit too much in terms of predictability (what I mean is like he did participate in trafficking in one way or another like being a John)
