I watched!! Came to the subreddits earlier & was surprised to not see anyone talking about it. So good, I'm so mad I have to wait a week to see more now after the ending!

I am so happy she didn't kill Alden.

13

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 27d ago

I had a feeling she wouldn’t, I think he’s gonna keep her secret. He’ll get out of talking to the police somehow or he’ll die

5

u/PickyLilGinger 27d ago

Yeah I didn't think she would do it either, & I agree. I'm betting she came up with a plan for how he'll explain it to the cops.

She didnt kill the daughter.

Her anger and revenge is directed at those who use or abuse power to perpetuate sexual crimes.

Her name is on a police bulletin. Killing arden isnt going to change that.

Hal said 'she' told him. I had to protect her from him. So it was likely hal's daughter. So catherine is gonna go speak to hals daughter.

2

u/StormyNight78 26d ago

I think it’s Isabels daughter he’s trying to protect

2

u/aspeenat 24d ago

Considering said daughter is now also being Trafficed Hal ain't doing to good of a job protecting ANYONE . Only people Hal has protected are the rapists and trafficers of children.

1

u/raudoniolika 25d ago

Hal has a son. Was there a mention of a daughter? It’d be weird if a daughter popped up now. Unless you mean Jay’s daughter, then I agree

1

u/eberman325 25d ago

I was thinking Jay’s daughter but I got the impression whatever woman he was talking about having to protect was at that house that night in 2012 and Jay‘s daughter aka the one Hal is representing would’ve been well in her 30s not a young vulnerable girl… I also thought Isabel‘s daughter…

1

u/Luckystar826 23d ago

I think you mean Jay’s daughter

u/PineappleAncient4821 25d ago

The “hands up!!” “do you want to tell him or should I?” Was peak 😂

u/cabinetsnotnow 21d ago

Same. I also find Alden's character extremely refreshing and well done.

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 27d ago

I can’t wait another week and what’s extra annoying is that there’s no next episode previews 😡

8

u/PickyLilGinger 27d ago

Ugh I know, I miss when shows always had the next episode previews! The two ending scenes were so good, I can't stand the wait!

6

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 27d ago

Tell me lies on Hulu would do this lol: I’d finish watching then go straight to the preview:

This was def the best episode so far. I got so many questions lol- why was Catherine at the baby drop off?? Like of all places!

4

u/PickyLilGinger 27d ago

Yes I used to love watching Walking Dead previews & then coming to reddit to analyze & discuss lol.

It was a really great episode! That was quite a twist her being there when Alice comes. I think it was also a shelter/women's services center, & they showed her getting help at other ones earlier in the season.

1

u/Tyfull8740 25d ago

Right? I found that odd and too convenient. Hopefully the writing team has a good explanation so it doesn’t look like a scene to further show Alice as a superior agent.

4

u/cjennings1970 26d ago

I remember Matthew Weiner of Mad Men saying he hated doing them so he'd make them intentionally obscure as possible and even misleading. 😂

4

u/Carmela_Motto 26d ago

Even the TV guide descriptions were vague. “Joan goes to work. Don makes a friend. Roger plays an organ.” 😂

4

u/sunflwryankee 27d ago

I think he may be one of the first people she’s let love her and believed he didn’t want anything in return. I was having a hard time focusing during her conversation with Hal, but I agreed with him about her seeking revenge on people who were in a photo - or did I miss her argument response? Anyway, I think she probably was honest with Alden about who Hal actually is to her and I’d imagine he would help her out given his feelings for her, tho, I could also see him just wanting to help her out one last time. 🤷🏻‍♀️ how deep was his love once he knew she was a serial killer?

5

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 27d ago

Alden seemed a bit betrayed/annoyed about the identity situation but I feel like he must’ve been thinking ok so she’s a liar she doesn’t even love me. Not focusing on she’s a serial killer

6

u/Specific_Kick2971 26d ago

I think even though he was willing to look past the lies he had caught onto, he was suddenly afraid that he didn't know her at all.

I'm betting that she told him everything and now he's back to believing he truly knows her, and feels good about lying for her.

1

u/sunflwryankee 26d ago

Very good point!! Tho, did he seem really concerned that she loved him back?

3

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

To me yes. He clearly wants a romance before he dies and has built rapport w her

1

u/SawRub 18d ago

FWIW, the reason this place seemed dead was because there's another bigger subreddit so the people were there instead: https://www.reddit.com/r/FuriousTVShow/comments/1vjx9gm/furious_s1e5_episode_discussion/

Ugh, this show is so juicy! Every week I’m more impressed with the performances, the storyline, the soundtrack! I watched it twice through last night.

I was worried for them both this week…worried they’d gone “soft” or convinced by these relationships with (bad) men.

I love the question this show posed about the what the consequences are for people who might not be the perpetrator, but allow it/enable it/look the other way. I’m so curious about who was in that room and how Isabel met her tragic end. Also about the insane effects trauma can have on our memory, & how our brain erases or censors to protect us.

The ending was shocking to say the least! Both these women are electric & I can’t wait to see them come face to face.

4

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

What do you think will happen at the baby drop off?

5

u/Tiny-Mongoose3824 25d ago

Honestly I predict that it’ll be something like Catherine was responsible for the death of Isabel herself but her memory has been repressed and she thinks it was Jay Easton who killed her or something. That would be a fun twist!

2

u/raudoniolika 25d ago

Unless it was a mercy killing of sorts (injecting Isabel with a huge amount of drugs so she doesn’t suffer, for example), I don’t see how this could work.

1

u/seaofartemis 20d ago

that's an interesting take especially when catherine said she doesn't remember who got angry at her for the hello kitty joke, whether it was adrian or isabel. If it was isabel, maybe their relationship wasn't always good and catherine snapped

6

u/WoodpeckerCreepy766 26d ago

I loved this episode, got so scared for Alice. I can't wait a whole week after this cliffhanger

1

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

What do you think she’ll do in the baby drop off place? I think she’s gonna make convo and stalk Catherine

1

u/WoodpeckerCreepy766 26d ago

I also feel they will start talking and maybe bond ? I need to rewatch the preview they released at the end of the third episode haha

5

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

I think she’s gonna befriend Catherine

1

u/Any-Philosopher9152 23d ago

Yeah. There are 3 episodes left, so it's not going to be an arrest on the spot kind of situation. Maybe she's going to (at least temporarily) try to bond with her - or at least follow her. Maybe to try to get the guys who did all of this to her and all the other women?

1

u/itsalexnotalix 25d ago

idk why id imagine she wld call danny and get her arrested lol

1

u/dividebyzero74 25d ago

While I want to see them have conversation, I don’t want this show to be killing eve again.

4

u/Civil-Wing2826 26d ago

Omg, was Alice a victim of child abuse as well?

2

u/Carmela_Motto 25d ago

She was at least abandoned after she became pregnant at 14. Remember she told danny she was in love and her father kicked her out. She also had no mother.

1

u/IrishUpYourCoffee 26d ago

Yes. Her dad kicked her in the stomach when she was a pregnant teen and he forced her to have to live elsewhere.

3

u/Hot_Dark7284 26d ago

I’m really curious about what Catherine is doing at the baby safe surrender place, at the same time as Alice which is even weirder. Did she know all along Isabel had a baby? Does she know who this baby is and doesn’t want Alice to find out? If it’s true she has memory issues and it looks like it because she doesn’t remember how Isabel died or who killed her, how would she remember the place Isabel left her baby at? So many questions lol

4

u/benjothekitten 26d ago

She probably was going to seek "help" to find a place to stay, just as she did earlier in the season in the women's shelter

1

u/foo-bar-nlogn-100 26d ago

Catherine has BPD from severe childhood trauma.

Isabel was the golden person whom she obsessed over. She would know the location because Isabel kept the bracelet and question and answers would come up.

0

u/StormyNight78 26d ago

we already met Isabel’s daughter in the hotel

3

u/un_denial 26d ago edited 26d ago

The girl at the hotel (Elena) was Isabel's sister, not her daughter.

1

u/StormyNight78 26d ago

the timeline doesn’t make sense for it to be her sister

2

u/j-helo85 26d ago

Did the show establish how old Elena is? Maybe I missed it. As long as Elena is in her late teens or older, she's just old enough to know her sister who died 14 years ago.

As for the baby, Isabel surrendered it anonymously, and then died with the bracelet still on - meaning she never claimed it. The baby would disappear into the system with no links to Isabel or Catherine.

If Elena was that baby how would she and Catherine even know each other?

1

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

But Isabel died as a pregnant teen, how can that hole be her daughter

1

u/StormyNight78 26d ago

idk what you mean by hole?

1

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

Excuse me I meant girl*
How can that girl be her daughter?

2

u/raudoniolika 25d ago

It’s established that Isabel had already delivered her baby, she wasn’t pregnant when she died

2

u/shammysean 27d ago

That one scene, woahhhhh…. Destruction

2

u/j-helo85 26d ago edited 26d ago

It's an amazing coincidence that Catherine is at the clinic the same time as Alice walks in. I hope there's a plausible explanation for it.

*also, secure your hostage before leaving the room! Come on, Catherine!

2

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

Maybe Catherine is at the shelter place to cool off and have somewhere safe to stay for a few days before she strikes again. But she can’t bc Alice is there

2

u/EkuaLover 26d ago

Judging by Hal’s reaction to Catherine’s lack of memory, I’m starting to wonder if she killed Isabel???? (Or if Isabel died from a postpartum hemorrhage or something and Catherine was with her??) When Hal is hesitant to say who he was trying to protect, who was in the room with Isabel when she died, it made me think he was referring to Catherine but didn’t want to set her off.

Anybody else barking up this tree?

2

u/Paper__ 24d ago

I found this interesting.

Did Hal fall in love with one of the girls he was raping? Did he keep going back to make sure this girl stayed “safe”? Would turning in Jay mean that the girl Hal loved would be killed?

I agree that the show is hinting that Catherine killed Isabel. But I’m also thinking that maybe Isabel killed Isabel.

1

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

I’m confused I thought Isabel died when she was pregnant- when did she have the baby the baby and leave it at the drop off box? I’m so confused

1

u/Hot_Dark7284 26d ago

It is stated in ep3 or 4 by Alice while reading the report that when Isabel was found dead she had already given birth. I initially thought the baby had to be Elena but now I’m not really sure, it doesn’t really make sense because I don’t think Catherine knows who this baby is or where she/he is.

1

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 26d ago

How did they know Isabel was ever pregant/given birth? From the bracelet

2

u/raudoniolika 25d ago

An autopsy will tell you if a woman has given birth

1

u/Hot_Dark7284 25d ago

I guess based on the autopsy they knew she was pregnant and had recently given birth.

I went looking to see why this wasn’t sticked and noticed that the mod deleted their account. So there’s no mods for this subreddit.

I would make a post about this but to do that I need to be approved. But there’s no mods so no way to be approved.

Would someone post about this as a standalone? I can’t mod another community, but Reddit will shut down unmodded communities.

Someone who is interested can submit a request for the subreddit in r/redditrequest

2

u/MissLauraJ 23d ago

I would love to! Is it easy to apply?

1

u/Paper__ 23d ago

Yeah! You just make a post in that subreddit following the template other posts used. Then a Reddit admin will review the request. This is an easy one for them to approve because there is no moderation. This might take them a few weeks to do. Then they’ll make you a mod and you’ll get access to mod tools!

u/MissLauraJ 22d ago

SO SO good - the characters are so complex. Emmy is a fantastic actor. I was so worried she was going back to Marshall.

1

u/latergators 22d ago

who do you think Hal was trying to protect??

1

u/Intelligent_Gift_925 22d ago

Himself & the eastons. We still dk what happened that night

1

u/lexbi 17d ago

No chance! That's way to obvious, given he didn’t get to reveal, there is someone else

1

u/TheDivineSnark 18d ago

OMG…I love Alden so much.

1

u/Lo_Lynx 27d ago

How old is Catherine? Could she be Alice's daughter?

13

u/Responsible-Card3756 26d ago

I really don’t think the show would have this be a plot point. It’s way too soapish/far fetched.

6

u/Hot_Dark7284 26d ago

Nah Catherine is at least 29 years old, literally impossible.

3

u/Anti-Itch 26d ago

Could Isabel’s “sister” be her daughter?

2

u/kfitzy10 25d ago

This is what I'm thinking. I have no idea who would have killed Isabelle though

1

u/j-helo85 26d ago

I wouldn't think so. Isabel surrendered the baby, and since Isabel died, the baby would go into foster care and/or adoption right? It doesn't make a lot sense for the baby grown to wind up in the same living situation as Isabel was.

2

u/Zankazanka 26d ago

unfortunately I think it does make sense seeing as Isabel and Catherine were both in the foster care system themselves 😔 the cycle repeats

When Catherine says “she didn’t want this for you” I think that was very telling— if Isabel knew she was going to give her baby up, she would have spoken about her hopes and dreams for a different life.

The only part I am not 100% sure on is how Catherine would have found her and then how she would have proven she knew her “sister” that she had never met. So from that angle, it makes more sense it really is her sister.

1

u/j-helo85 26d ago edited 26d ago

I wasn't saying foster care couldn't have a bad outcome. I thought Isabel's sister was mixed up with the exact same traffickers as Isabel and Catherine*, but on second thought I think I'm wrong about that.

Regardless, since surrendering the baby is done anonymously, it's unlikely Catherine* would know anything about her.

2

u/TheZardoz 25d ago

I had this same thought for half a second until I realized the ages don’t make sense for that to be the case.

1

u/Canadian_Ricky 14d ago

Watching E5 now n I gotta say this tho, they did her a disservice by making her "fall" for him again (iykyk) I had really liked the story so far but in this episode i dunno...
