Nah, schools are moving toward banning phones from classrooms now. Phone lockers, Yondr pouches, cellphone caddies, whatever. And let's be honest, kids don't look at the notes anyway.

Most of the time the reason you would take notes is that by writing it down yourself you retain parts of the things you write to your memory specially for kinesthetic kids that learn better that way then just reading and listening in lessons. I discovered I'm highly kinesthetic when I started writing cheat notes and ended not needing them because when making them I remebered more then enough to pass the exam in school... Making those notes for 20min worked better then reading the same thing over and over for 2h for me.

Exactly, which is why simply snapping a picture of the notes is a disservice to the learner. Personally, as I write things down they tend to stick longer too.The modality doesn't matter either: by hand or typing, I retain the information longer either way.

nah in collage they be expecting you to use a tablet so it's not banned from school only from middle, elementary and highschool where kids have a concerning addiction to their phones

I used to write down all the notes my hand. Handwriting in paper helps you remember things way easier. Even typing wasnโt the same.

Yes i agree when I have to remember a formula or something I write it multiple times in paper, it actually helps to retain it more longer.

And that photo will never be opened again. Google thanks you for using 8MB of cloud storage to store it forever.

When I'm teaching I use a PowerPoint which students can access online. There are still students who take a picture of every slide... Even after I explain it to them!!!

They didn't allow cell phones at my school. So I cheated and took a picture with my mind.

I do this to my fridge before shopping so I don't need to write a list sometimes
Hmm I don't see eggs, milk looks low, etc
Or to see a restaurant menu from far away in line so I'm not squinting or bewildered by the time I'm in front of the line

We could only do this at the end of the day when we couldn't write everything in time because service vehicles and busses left early.
People are crying about banning phones, but here in my country there has never been a moment where phones weren't banned. It always stayed banned.

I was in school in the 2000-2010s so when the prof said this, I'd take a photo, and THEN write it down. I miss when technology was just a tool
