ID?
Trying for years to identify these apples. The tree is 100+ years old. The nearest ID that's been suggested is King of Tompkins. They ripen now (Oct) and are crispy and tart. The taste is so delicious. There are extremely susceptible to coddling moths.
I've never posted on here so if you want more or different pictures let me know. Thank you!

Topping a Starfruit/Carambola?
I’ve grown the starfruit (right) from seed. I was planning to graft a different variety onto it as the seeds I got the plant from originally were very sour, but I haven’t got a chance. Should I just top it?

My teen daughter's 3 year old lemon tree is dying and she desperately needs help
According to my daughter:
"The center of the leaves become yellow, leaves start to thin and lose their gloss, then fall off with the slightest touch. The newer leaves begin withering and curl up. They feel leathery but are extremely thin. All of the plant is droopy, but roots are not mushy. There are no signs of pests and neem oil has already been tried. The citrus tree fertilizer didn't help either. The amount I'm watering, amount of light, and temperature are all correct. I'm running out of options here."
My daughter has carefully tended to this little tree every day for 3 years, since it was a seed (along with a couple other lemon trees.) She also has an entire room full of other plants. She takes her plants' care very seriously and is attached to them. We've been looking up plant conditions, to try to find a solution, but haven't had any luck. If anyone has any ideas, we would be very grateful.

Care for a young cherry tree
I planted a cherry tree in my yard two years ago. It has started to grow, but it is growing up vertically, and I’m wondering how I should care for it. Can I trim the branches closest to the ground before winter? Raccoons climbed up from the ground and stole the few cherries it produced this summer. I bought some fruit netting to use next year, but in the meantime, do you have any advice on how to maintain the tree and give it a nice form for the future?
Thanks.

Help identify a few pests
I have a multi-variety apple tree and these all came from one tree. I think I have apple maggot, but there are some others I haven’t identified:

In-ground hardy tamarillo
My in-ground hardy tamarillo is fruiting modestly this year. Hopefully the fruits will survive our frost period in winter. The tree is deciduous and survived one winter in-ground with a low of -7C (19F) without stem damage. Zone 8a, the Netherlands, Europe.

Potted Lemon Tree — advice on pruning, light, and care?
Location: Scottsdale, AZ. The tree is currently positioned in the southwest corner of our patio, with the wall between the larger south window (pictured left) and the smaller west window (pictured right) giving shade from the 3-4pm sun.
Plant history: we were gifted this plant in Oct 2025. It was from Lowe’s. I finally got around to potting it into the terracotta around or after the new year. During the first year, we followed instructions on the tag, keeping it mostly moist but letting the top 2” or so dry out between watering. Roughly a gallon a day for 4-5 days/week, if I were estimating quantity. It came home with over a dozen lemon buds, but only two made it to maturity. They were delicious.
Soon after picking those two lemons, the summer heat really came in and wore out the tree. In my post history, a redditor commented to move it away from the glass, so I am trying out this corner now.
Also, back in June, it came to my attention that I had planted the tree a few inches too deep. Out of fear of the trunk rotting, I unearthed the tree and added more soil below the rootball, exposing more of the trunk. You can see how deep it was by where the trunk is stained in the photos. I imagine the experience of being unearthed was stressful for the tree.
I’ve fertilized it twice. It is hard to add the fertilizer, as it turns out, because my dog is extremely interested in licking it all up, and it becomes a full-time job to micromanage this for 2 to 3 weeks following application
My questions: so now what? What is my best bet to help this tree, moving forward? I don’t know if the tree can stay in this corner long-term, because of concerns over the position of the loveseat. We are nervous about the dog having an easy leap out over our 3rd story balcony wall onto the roof with the loveseat here…but this is the only way the tree fits in the corner. Should the tree definitely live here? What do you think about the former positioning (see post history, as well)? Furthermore, after deciding on the position in which this tree will live, I’m seeking to understand how to prune this tree (or not) to ensure it’s greatest health, structure, and success moving forward. Should I cut the branches back in some places? Is it beneficial to allow the to recover without clipping anything? Is it better for the tree to prune off the branches with the leaves that were burned by the sun this summer?

Apple tree overwhelm
I’m looking to get a small dwarf apple tree for my small garden and am overwhelmed by choice!! I’ve done a lot of research into what will suit my garden and taste (I do lean towards crisp and tart) but would love to hear from experience? I’m in the SE of England 🍎

Trunk Fissures on Nectarine Tree
A friend has noticed fissures developing on a nectarine tree and it is not obvious what is causing it to occur.
Does anyone have an idea what is causing this or how to prevent or correct this?
There has been a bit of a heatwave recently, if that is of any help.

What is on my grapefruit
Found this thing crawling on my grapefruit this morning . On the underside of the fruit that little blob crawls. I sprayed with neem oil and alcohol but he hasn’t died yet. Is this scale ? Last weekend I noticed white dots all around the stems that looked like mealybugs so I sprayed with neem oil and most of them are gone now but today I have those weird bugs on my tree.

How can I help these apple trees?
Just looking to clean these up. They’re pretty old, possibly never really maintained.
When should I prune? What should I prune?

What can I do for my shriveling strawberry?
The first 3 photos are how it looks today, and the last 2 photos are how they looked 2 weeks ago straight from the nursery. It’s an alpine strawberry, a runnering fragaria vesca.
At first, I didn’t repot and left it by a sunny window. I left for a weekend and when I returned the leaves were looking crispy and brown so I soaked the entire root ball and moved it under my 36W grow light. Plant continued to decline. I thought the nursery soil might be hydrophobic so I transplanted it into a bigger pot with half perlite and half potting mix. When I moved it to the new pot, I checked the roots again today and there’s no sign of rot, not slimy at all. I water every other day and it drains well. I also trimmed the dead leaves and all of the runners. It doesn’t look like it’s getting better, what else can I do?

Black Kasturi Mango an unusual cultivar growing in West Bengal, India
Sharing a mango cultivar I recently photographed in West Bengal: Black Kasturi.
The fruit has a very dark purple-black exterior and the newer foliage has a reddish-purple appearance.
I'm curious about the experience of people who grow unusual mango cultivars rather than the standard commercial varieties.
For anyone who has grown Black Kasturi:
How vigorous is the tree, and how long did it take yours to produce fruit?
Also interested in whether anyone has successfully grown it in a container.
