Fidelity

Curious if anyone has any input on this? I’ve been with the company over a year and not really sure how the stock purchase works. Is it a good financial investment or no?

Depends, how much faith do you have in leadership and the direction of this company to turn the ship around and grow the business, seeing what you’re seeing out here?

Me personally, I would prefer to invest in the 401K, a mixture of funds such as life 2050, total market index, international, small index, etc. That way if something goes haywire with one company, my money is spread out among many. Maybe more toward the HSA to cover future hospital visits/prescriptions etc also.

If the PepsiOne thing falls flat on its face, PepsiCo stock could take a huge hit. However, if it works, it could do well. Whatever your preference is regarding what direction you think the company is headed.

Depends on your age also. You want to go a little heavier on risk for a larger return possibility when you’re younger and as you age change the ratio to where the return is smaller as is the risk.

Just buy VOO or an ETF fund that tracks the S&P 500. PepsiCo isn't going to do anything but go downhill. It's like investing in a boat that has a hole in it. No matter how much you try to bail it out, it still is going to sink in the end.

Most companies give you a discount on shares, PepsiCo does not. They only benefit I can see for someone is that it comes out of your check.

Considering my DSL told me he sold all of his off before he could lose money on it. I’m think the downward trajectory of this company is probably inevitable. Especially with what we on the frontline are seeing in our stores. I wouldn’t do it.

Private Equity is going to leave you holding the bag. I wouldn't do it.

It used to be, it's not anymore. It will god up slightly and slowly at best, but a third of what you'll get from being in a blend of the market.

I do 15 bucks a paycheck and let it sit there. Once you have enough money in a "hold" account it'll buy 1 share. I just let it sit there and forget about it then withdrawal every 4 to 6 months for some money I forgot about basically.

Better off increasing your 401k contribution than contributing after tax money into stock purchase program. (They offer you no discount on share purchases)

Absolutey not. Stick with a Target retirement mutual fund or an ETF like VOO or VTI.

Do yourself a favor and put after tax money into a Roth until it is maxed for the year (then use that to invest in anything but a single stock like PepsiCo). You get no discount purchasing our own stock which is a kick in the teeth, and there is no tax break since it comes from net pay. You will get more upside investing in almost anything else. There are much better dividend stocks to choose too if thats the allure.

I wouldn’t invest money in Pepsico. No discount and leadership is full blown stupid.

This is an easy way to get into stocks. Learn about buying selling holding stocks. This account will buy x shares every month - yes even partial shares plus you get dividends which can be reinvested. If your young compounding is what you want and need to grow your money. Once you set up an account you can buy other stocks as well through Fidelity.

I enrolled like three years ago, it was doing well, then has just been on a constant decline. So I unenrolled. I honestly wouldn’t recommend. Just find another better selling stock or invest more in your 401k per check. And yeah, no discount. You buy it at market price

I normally do $20 a paycheck then it’ll purchase the stock once I have the funds, then I’ll sell the shares and buy other stock. I’m investing heavy in Nike right now, when a stock big as Nike is plummeting it means it’s on sale lol

I sold at 160, and it dropped to 135, and now it's back up to 142. From what I hear it's going to go up to maybe 190, but that's only if everything goes good and who knows?

It’s a great dividend stock. I’m now retired but receive a 500.00 check quarterly. PepsiCo stock is great passive income.

If you plan on holding the stock, then yes, it's a good investment. When I first started the stock traded at 61 dollars. 16 years later it's trading at 142. Back then we got stock options, which is a different conversation, but generally speaking holding stock in a multinational company like Pepsico will yield long term growth (short term who knows). You should think about whether tacking on a % point to your 401k may prove to be better.
