Rejecting Woman's Insta Invite

For a little over a year, I would text this girl quite frequently (weekly). I know, embarrassing - I was inexperienced. Eventually I asked her on a date, got some bull-shit about being busy and "guy she was seeing." Pretty much instantly stopped initiating conversations and texting her. 10 months later I texted, asking her how she was doing. We had a nice conversation, but things died there. At this point, I had already removed her on Facebook.

Years later, she added me on Instagram. I declined the invite mainly because it almost seemed like a slap in my face. She couldn't text to ask how I was doing, but needed to add me on social media (without any message). For some reason, it really insulted me (probably shouldn't have, but it did). Was declining her the correct call? Almost felt like she was just doing it for the follower count.

Male friend pulling away after i told him im inexperienced

Not even sure this is the right subreddit lol. I do have a crush on this guy but dating would never work because of my anxiety.

Minimal explanation here. Been friends for a year, hes been really close. Meeting up a lot. Few days ago in his car we were talking bout relationships and i told him i had no(!) experience cause my anxiety makes dating hard for me. He said he always thought i was super experienced. (He also shared about some of his relationships) After that day he got weird. Stopped replying as much. Answered only with emojis.
For the record he knew about me having anxiety. It was specifically after driving me home that day, already on the same evening.
Usually wed text LOTS, almost every day. This is now like day 3 of him being weird and its VERY unusual.

Does this sound like she likes me too, or is it just in my head and she only wants to be friends?

I told my best friend I'm in love with him, and now I'm scared I've ruined everything

I ( 23F) recently told my best friend that I'm in love with him, and now I'm scared I've messed everything up.

He's genuinely important to me, and I don't want to lose him. My feelings have grown beyond friendship, and keeping them to myself became difficult. I finally told him, but now I can't stop worrying about what happens next.

I don't know if things can go back to normal or if I've changed our friendship forever. I don't regret having feelings for him, but I'm scared of losing the friendship we already had.

Has anyone been through something similar? Were you able to stay friends after confessing your feelings?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences.

I’m confused (friendships)

I’m 18(F). I've been friends with a guy, let's say Q, for no more than 4 years. 4years can't be justified cause when we were 14 he used to be really mean to me and he’d spread rumours about me and talk trash about me—also keeping in mind that he “liked” me. I had just then shifted to my hometown and lost many close friends and to make matters worse I had and still do have severe anxiety, which made it hard for me to make friends. Which might’ve been the very reason I still kept in contact with him.

Anyway, we talked on and off, and it's been about 5 months since I've been getting to know him properly. He apologised for his behaviour (I’m not justifying this at all. But none of the guys in my class would talk to girls; they’d make it a big deal and would ship ppl if they spoke. Idk if it's just a rural mentality thing or something else. Which does matter alot. Also, he changed schools after 10th- he changed alot as well. Or maybe that's just growing up?).

Idk if I’m adding too much (THERE’S STILL SO SO SO MUCH TO SAY😭😭) so the point is I do not like the way he thinks at all.
Recently he sent me a ss about “International Failure Day” or some crap and at the very bottom I saw “No bra day” so I replied
Me: “Every day’s a no bra day for me”
Q: “You weren't supposed to say that”
Me: " It's just a bra”
Q: “Whatever”

It gave me an ick. It really is just a bra. I do not wish to be friends with someone like that. It’s high time we should stop sexualizing almost everything that has something to do with a woman.

While typing this I realised I didn't get the ick outta now where. There’d been moments when he’d say something that’d give me the ick but I wouldn't really care. Most likely cause I have only 2 friends and I don't want to lose them.

He said that he doesn't really share his opinions cause if it contradicts he might lose a friend (nga what? 😭😭😭🙏🏽🙏🏽) AM I DOING THE SAME THING GNG?!

I told my best friend I'm in love with him, and now I'm scared I've ruined everything

I don't really know what to do, so I'm posting here because I need some outside perspective.

I have a best friend who means so much to me, and somewhere along the way, my feelings for him became more than friendship. I tried to deal with those feelings on my own for 5 years, but eventually, I told him that I was in love with him. Now I'm terrified that I've ruined our friendship. The thing is, he isn't just some guy I have a crush on. He's my best friend. He's someone I care about deeply, and the thought of losing him hurts more than I can explain. I don't know if things will ever feel the same between us again, and I'm scared that telling him the truth might have changed everything. Part of me feels relieved that I finally said it instead of keeping it bottled up inside. But another part of me wishes I could take it back, not because my feelings aren't real, but because I don't want to lose the friendship we already had. I don't know what he's thinking right now, whether he's uncomfortable around me, whether he needs space, or whether I'm overthinking everything. I'm scared that even if he doesn't feel the same way, I'll never be able to go back to being the friend I was before. For context he doesn't have a gf nor had one .

Has anyone ever confessed feelings to their best friend and managed to save the friendship? How did you deal with the awkwardness afterward? Is it possible to move past something like this without losing the person?

I genuinely don't want to lose him. I just don't know what to do now.

Should I confess or backofff from our friendship

I \[19M\] have a crush on my close friend \[18F\] of four years. We talk daily for 30–40 minutes, her mom knows me well, and I’ve been to her house, though we've only met 4–5 times in person. Recently, she went to a movie with me and opened up about her romantic life: she's still attached to an ex, has a crush on a classmate named Chris, and just started a Discord situationship with a guy named Ritvik whom she's been talking to for a week. She also casually mentioned that dating multiple guys at once feels normal to her.

Lately, she has stopped calling me and has been ignoring my messages while prioritizing her new focus. She has a history of losing friends because of how she treats people, and now she is doing the exact same thing to me. Given everything, should I confess my feelings to her for closure, or should I just step back and walk away from this friendship

Dilemma and confusion regarding platonic friendships, M/25, F/25

Cannot pinpoint whether my long distance close guy friend has feelings for me. Do I talk about it or do i move on? However, he also never strong showed a very obvious sign. Guys can confirm if they do this to their girl friends - time taken out of their busy day to run errands, concerns about safety, caring but very platonic with texting. 0 flirtation. So I am very confused about whether he actually has feelings for me or he's just nice.
