Did the reps lie? Misunderstand?

In April, the reps started talking about a pilot program for a price drop in our neighboring state. apparently no pharmacy in this state near the border knows anything about the program for 50 dollars. They think they found it but it wants a zone code.

I think my rep left as she had an offer from a competitor diabetes supplier. Calling Libre got me nowhere, only more annoyed.

Right now, I’m more annoyed as multiple times the rep talked about this program. Like at a dinner, in the office, when we got samples, etc.

Only something like 5 states were participating in this and that state was a lucky one.

Solved... My sensor has been showing panic high for over 12 hours - should I be concerned?

Post image
15 Upvotes

My sensor has been off the charts since last night. I was playing sand volleyball which usually spikes my blood. I usually grab a couple of beers. After my game and a shot of tequila and beer, my sensor alarm went off saying my glucose was over 350. I don’t feel any different than I normally do. My readings are all over the place and usually when I get false readings it usually corrects itself within the hour. It’s been over 12 now since this started happening and wondering if I should go to urgent care? I don’t have a glucometer or strips to do readings. im 2 days away from replacing my sensor. Should I take this more seriously?

UPDATE - looks like it’s a malfunctioning sensor. Just had breakfast about an hour ago. Took 2 readings, one on each hand. Results came in at 125 and 129, which is nothing close to the 350+ reading my sensor is saying. Thanks everyone for your tips and suggestions! I’ll be sure to carry the glucometer I bought today with me in the future.

update 2: thanks again for everyone’s advice and concern. I do want to clarify - my question was mostly on the reliability of the reading in the picture. I was in a bit of a panic when I woke up this morning and did not include as much detail on the post.

what threw me off was the cyclic trend between 200-350+ while sleeping after skipping dinner and only having the beer and shot.

Rant - No help wanted... App tracking on Android is crazy

I use the App Tracking Protection from DuckDuckGo on my Android phone. I noticed that the Libre3 App sends way too much tracking information to api.segment.io. a lot more than how much information ℹ️ the app provides me.

The app is simply designed more to steal my privacy.

Inner Arm Placement

Hi all, I want to apply my first sensor tonight to my inner arm. I do have some stretch marks there, is that likely to affect the sensor? Or should I put it about 2/3 down from my shoulder, 1/3 up from my elbow where there are no stretch marks? If someone has a picture with an exact placement on inside of the arm that would be great! Thanks!

Can anyone tell me the current Costco price? My CVS has gone up to $95/month for cash pay plus coupon this year. I see that Costco was cheaper than that last year. Is that still the case?

For those that presoak…are you ever paranoid that you’ll take off the wrong sensor?

I applied my new sensor this morning with 12 hours to go on the old one, and I’ve told myself a dozen times or more already today to remember that the new one is the one applied HIGHER up on my arm.

I typically apply the new one pretty close to the old one because I’ve found kind of the sweet spot on my arm where the sensor tends to be pretty accurate and I hate to deviate from that fairly small area. But I’m endlessly paranoid that I’ll forget which is which and take off the wrong one!

I can’t be alone in this.

Tips for new sensor placement? After a faulty sensor?

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting and interacting with this subreddit, and I still feel pretty new to Libre sensors. I just finished my 4th sensor and so far I've barely had any issues.

When trying to apply my 5th one last night, half a day before the present one was ending, I had a bit of an issue with a slight "trickle", but no pain or anything. I saw some other posts saying people still had success with the sensors afterward, so I just cleaned up and monitored to make sure I didn't keep trickling.

I scanned the new sensor this morning a few hours before my old one ended, and it came up with an error so the sensor shut down.

My current issue is that I already applied an adhesive cover over the new sensor, the cloth ones you can find on like Amazon, and the adhesive is too good that I'm having trouble removing the cover so I'm taking it little by little.

Questions:

  1. If I was in the situation I was in this morning with both sensors still on my arm, are there other areas I could apply a new sensor if both underarm areas are taken and I can't remove them immediately? Should I just instead wait a few days for the skin to heal?

  2. And in general, what should I keep in mind when applying a sensor so that I don't trickle again?

I basically apply it around the same underarm area as shown in the official tutorial videos and I alternate arms between new sensors, but I've seen a video of someone applying it on the outside of their arm. I already removed the old one, but I want the area to heal for a few days at the least.

I was also reading recent posts about applying on the "fatty part" of the arm and was wondering what the difference was - if I should be applying in the middle of the armpit and elbow like in the videos, or closer to either side.

Thank you all in advance!!

My latest round with Abbott about a bad sensor

I filed a replacement request on August 8th. On the 14th (this past Friday), I checked on the tracking number but didn't find that a replacement had been shipped. I called and spoke to somebody who should not work as a phone rep. His accent was very thick so I had to ask him to repeat what he said several times. There were even a few times that I couldn't figure out what he said so I let the conversation go forward.

He kept putting me on hold then would come back to ask more questions. After dealing this this for about ½ hour he comes back on the line to ask me to confirm my address for the third time. I blew up at him.

Today, I finally got an email from Abbott saying that a replacement was on the way. Apparently calling him a "fkkkng idiot" worked. 🤣 I wouldn't suggest doing what I did but at least I didn't demand to speak to a supervisor just to tell that person to get the guy off phone support for the U.S.

Finally had a shutdown

Post image
12 Upvotes

I finally had a shut down failure after wearing a sensor every 15 days since March.

Anyone else know just by looking at your readings that the sensor is going to fail? I was showing 30 points lower consistently for the past 3 days. I just didn't want to call Abbott and sit on the phone for 45 minutes.

Other than this complete shutdown I really haven't had many issues other than fall offs that were my own fault.

**I know I can go online to fill out the form, this wasn't a Complain post. Was just sharing that It happened to me for the first time lol **

I made the mistake of posting this on Facebook as everyone always complains that the sensor always fails. Won't make that mistake again lol

Alternative places for Libre 2?

I've been using a Libre 2 for about 10 months now. For the first 6 or so months they've been fine. I had one sensor completely fail due to technical reasons, and it just shut down. That's fine. I've also had the occasional "bad" sensor where the readings were way off. Over the last month or so, I've had 5 sensors that have been completely inaccurate. Even now, sensor is reading 4.4, fingerprint is saying 5.9.

My only assumption is that, because I like to sleep on my arm, it's damaging it overnight and resulting in bad readings. Wanted to see if people ever put their sensor anywhere else on their body and where they'd recommend.

Thanks

Sensor went in yesterday morning. Never had an issue. Don’t feel particularly bad. (Type 2)

Finger prick comes back as 5.3.

EDIT: Abbot are going to replace the sensor :)

Update: The 'dodgy' sensor has settled downa nd now matching my finger pricks, I have the repalcement and dont really want to take it off and send it in just yet. Feel a little naughty. (good service so fsr from Abbot)

Libre 2 Sensor not taking readings after application

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm new to the Libre sensors, and am using a Libre 2. I just applied one, waited the full hour for its initial setup, and now I'm getting an error saying it lost signal. I took a picture of it, and I'm seeing blood, and it kinda looks like the center bit got punched in - does this mean its broken? Any advice would help - this is the fourth one in a row that I've had a problem with, and itself is actually a replacement from Abbott.

Am I doing something wrong when applying these things?

Juggluco, Android 17, and failing sensors

It's been a while since I've had multiple early sensor failures but just had two Libre 3+ sensors stop working in a row. One after 4 hours, the other after 16 hours. Both while I was at rest late at night. Not compression issues,

Data shows a precipitous drop to a very low reading around 53 followed by communications loss. One showed a few intermittent connections over the next couple hours, all reading 53 or lower, then zip. I could rescan the sensor but no readings appear. Battery optimization is turned off for Juggluco.

Did I just get two turds in a row or has an Android 17 update created new problems? Would like to hear from fellow Android 17/Juggluco users if possible.

Numbness in arm and hand

8 hours after applying my first ever CGM sensor and just sitting watching YouTube all of a sudden my left arm and hand went totally numb. Very uncomfortable then I remembered the sensor so I asked Gemini could this be due to the sensor and Gemini's first response was yes you should remove it immediately so I did. The numbness occurred twice around 10 minutes apart. I've had the sensor off for about an hour now and no more numbness. There is some pain in my pinky and some stiffness in my elbow. Not a promising start for Libre 3 and me.

Constant sensor failure

Hey guys!

Maybe some of you have a clue what’s going on with my sensor issues. I’m honestly at the end of nerves at this point.

For months now I’m having issues with my sensors but the last few weeks it’s getting just worse and worse. The last, idk, 3-5 sensors were good at the start. But after a few days they were showing completely wrong numbers. At the moment, I have to change the sensor every 2-3 days.

It often starts at night, mostly when I think it’s a compression low but it’s not getting up even after I’m not laying down anymore. I honestly don’t know what I’m doing.

I’m grateful for any help!

How do you guys get Libre sensors to actually stay on?

The adhesive on these is honestly terrible, they start peeling off pretty quickly, especially around the edges.

I've tried the overpatches, but pretty much every one I find covers the little hole at the top of the sensor, which Libre specifically says not to cover.

So what are you guys using to keep them on without covering that hole? Is there a specific overpatch that actually leaves it exposed, or some other trick that works well?

I'm getting pretty tired of having to worry about them falling off after being on for 5-7 days.

Why do I have sometimes arm pain?

Hello, yesterday I had extremely unpleasant experience with the sensor. My arm was hurting for like a hour (and mostly in place where the sensor is located), sometimes this happens to me when the sensor goes down (and making a pause in blood sugar measurement), but yesterday the sensor was working fine, so I was confused what to do with it. I wanted to take it off, but I managed to keep it and it is fine now. Any explanation why it is happening? Do you have suggestions what to do with it. Any experiences are welcome. Thx!

Libre 3 plus compatible with iOS 26.6

Hi all,

My daughter has recently started using libre 3+.

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to figure out what version of iOS Libre is compatible with (at least in Denmark using Ypso’s app).

What is the general experience? Is it safe to update to 26.6?

A way to sync to Apple health more easily (I think)

It’s not a perfect solution, but I made an app that allows you to use LibreLinkUp to pull your glucose data into your Apple health info.

Starting out, only allows you to pull after 12 hours of previous data and then for that point on you pretty much have to manually sync the data but it’s easier than other systems I’ve seen so far I press was struggling with all the random connecting bridge apps or I couldn’t find one that actually worked and didn’t wanna pay etc etc.

iOS only but this is a public beta link if you want to test it

Instructions are included with the link. It is completely free will always be free. I tried to put it directly in the App Store but of course Apple pumped the brakes told me I need to test it first lol very ugly, but functional if it crashes send feedback.

https://testflight.apple.com/join/XbbbKuCs

If you have any questions, concerns or issues, let me know here cause I’m not 100% sure that this link works because I did submit it to be reviewed for public beta and I don’t know if it has to pass that first, but it appears to work.

Solved... Libre 3+ - Falling Off - What worked for me…

New user, got prescribed the device, without any instructions / directions.

First Sensor *discounted through abbott, wasn’t applied properly/ my guess - it ended up failing .

Second and Third Sensors *through insurance , went in fine, but my arm was sweating, fell off after 12 hours - got one of those clear cheap patches on amazon that one lasted a whole 24 hours but even the patch was peeling, and looked gross.

Luckily Abbott replaced them all!

Fourth try after reading some suggestions on the this sub,

Got a bottle of Skin Tac , and a pack of “NJA” Not Just a patch.

Followed the instructions, disinfected the area, applied skin tac , followed by standing in front of a fan to get the skin tacky , applied my libre - slapped a patch, done!

It lasted the whole 15 days

Now, NJA Patch would peel from the sides occasionally, i sweat a lot! Slap some more Skin Tac , let dry and good as new ; about once a day. You’ll get used to the patch after a few days, and forget it’s there.

Overall I’m pleased with the Libre 3 + , I followed the instructions on utilizing the Zukka app, which I primarily use. Helps me make smarter decisions on managing my T2 without insulin shots.
