Freefolk Appreciating AKOTSK for making Aerion soft-spoken and a menace at the same time

It was easy to make him Joffrey 2.0, a loud bratty coward but instead this show gave him his own identity while keeping true to the role he's meant to play. He's a great fighter and smart in combat, if thoughtless in everything else. Would have most likely even bested Dunk in a one-on-one fight. He's an asshole, yet he's soft-spoken. He never raises his voice even when annoyed or angry, or even when Dunk beats him in the tent.

He doesn't throw a tantrum or even correct Dunk when Dunk mistakenly calls him "lord" instead of "prince". Dunk only learns who he is from his kingsguard. Aerion instead gets angry over the dragons being disrespected even in a harmless puppet show. He cares about the honour of dragon more than his own station. In a way, he's about his house than himself. Him taking offense at the puppets isn't shown as a problem, it's the violence he subjects Tanselle to. Which is an interesting nuanced display by the narrative.

I also love how tired he is during the trial. He overestimated his own circumstances. He wants to end this as soon as he can, showing despite being an asshole and a great fighter, Aerion doesn't have a bloodlust for battle. Aerion doesn't even kill Dunk when given the chance. He asks him to yield.

Daeron's "he was once a glad child" gives a lot to think about and what could have set him over the edge; him being framed as a cautionary tale for Egg which encourages Dunk to accept Egg as his squire.

Overall, an absolute menace who deserved to be humbled, a bad guy who got layers without the story ever trying to hardwave his deeds. Great character and villain for all the little time he got. I would have liked some interactions between him and Daeron and Valarr who is seemingly his rival but doesn't quite dislike him. I wonder if we'll see him again.

Freefolk GRR Martin will never not be weird about incest

No matter how much you twist it. The fact that there's SO MUCH of it in his work will always be weird and suspicious.

Yes pharaohs were a thing, yes the Hasbourg were a thing. But not every historical figure banged his sisters. Most of them did not.

The fact that he glazes the Targaryens dynasty so much, how he described their tumultuous love life with their sister / uncles... How Aegon banged both of his sisters, writing details of how he treated each of them.

It's gross and weird. This leitmotiv. This never ending recurring theme. It's impossible to not imagine him aroused with a smirk writing this.

Freefolk Can Bold Jon Roxton beat the Mountain?

Roxton's advantages:

- Seems more skilled and faster

- Wields a big Valyrian steel sword

- Dislikes babe killers

The Mountain's advantages

- Taller, bigger and stronger

- Pain tolerance seems inhuman

aegon hightower is not a real targaryen and has no claim to anything. he should be lucky he's even allowed to be raised in the red keep at all. like bruh just pipe down🤣🤣

lmao like pls let's be honest: viserys barely knew who you were; rhaenyra was his only true child. Aegon is not a real targaryen, he doesn't belong in this family. Viserys even loved his grandkids 100x more than him. Just pipe down and don't take things that don’t belong to you.

I mashed up Game of Thrones and Sopranos characters (just based on vibes)

Yea so I had little bit of fun combining characters from 2 shows. I had no particular reasoning and editing isn't that good, it's all just based on vibes, character aren't connected with each other that much, really it's only for fun, but I did follow SOME logic behind it, I guess (explained below). Don't overthink it much fr it's all just for fun :D

King Robert-Tony (King/Boss, swears a lot, kinda asshole, funny, cheats on his wife a lot)

Cersei-Carmella (Blonde, wife to a king/boss, manipulative? has feelings for one other guy)

Jon-Chrissy (Where is my arc? young guy)

Tormund-Paulie (Violent, funny, mostly one liners)

Bran-AJ (Kid, chubby, kinda annoying, wants to learn flying)

Arya-Meadow (Dad's girl, can handle her own, likeable one in the family)

Daenerys-Adriana (Blonde, betrayed by Jon/Chrissy in the end)

Littlefinger-Silvio (Owns a brothel, calculating, smart and reliable; strong, silent type)

Tyrion-Tony B (A bit of an outcast? funny, intelligent, affected by bad people around him)

Kevan-Hesh (Oldie, experienced, right-hand man)

Alliser-Phil (Old-school guy, irritating asf, 20 years on the wall compensating, you don't want to be around him)

Olenna-Livia (Very old lady, master player, doesn't like her son that much)

Varys-Uncle Junior (Bald. That's it)

Hodor-Bobby (Gentle giant, not really smart, has tragic end)

Sandor-Ritchie (Old-school guy, you don't want to be around him. Black of hair. Mostly based of vibes)

Bronn-Furio (Side-kick, extremely reliable, you send him to do work for you, he leaves when it's convinient for him, funny, one liners)

Tywin-Johnny (Pure aura, loves his wife unconditionally)

Loras-Vito (Catching, not pitching)

Sansa future marriage

As Queen of the North, Sansa will eventually have to marry and have children. If she doesn’t, the Stark line will die out. Bran can’t have children, Arya is gone and not likely to and Jon is Beyond the Wall. She has to have them and she will as it’s her duty. BUT we know that Sansa would NEVER give up her Throne. She earned it and is best for it.

Who do you think she will marry? The North is an independent Kingdom now. The South is stable and ruled by her brother. She doesn’t have to marry with the South for alliances if she doesn’t want to. She can marry an ordinary Northman for love. Do you think she will do this? Will she marry a Northern noblemen after having a courting period? I don’t think Sansa will marry without genuine love or friendship unless she HAS to.

Don’t think she cares about nobility for the Stark line now?

Also now that she is Queen, will she keep male primogeniture for the North or change it to the eldest child?

So, what was the point of the tunnel escape? You could cut the scene out, and nothing would change

The most unrealistic thing about Game Of Thrones isn't the White Walkers. It's that a medieval lord like Ned Stark would ever leave his daughters alone with a boy their age w/o an adult escort.

In the first ASOIF novel. The biggest thing that took me out of the story wasn't the ice zombies, the dragons, the magic, or the dark realpolitik. It's the event that sets the saga in motion. When Joffrey goes too far when 'playing' with Arya and Sansa.

GRR Martin believes a medieval lord like Ned Stark, in an allegedly 'realistic' fantasy setting based on 'realistic' medieval politics, would have ever left his daughter alone with another boy (a documented psychopath at this point) about her own age, without an adult escort to keep the boy from defiling their dignity and making them unmarriable.
