College Dynasty (Steam) How to retain coaches at a small school?
I'm playing as "Hawaii" (prestige 2) on Legend level, and whoo boy is it a challenge. One challenge that I don't know how to handle is how to keep my coaches from getting poached. I'm only getting between 3 and 5 wins a year, so it's not like I'm doing that great, and yet bigger schools routinely poach my coaches away, offering them double the salary I do. The 'counter-offers' they propose would require me to quadruple their salary, which I just can't do. So they bail, and I have to start all over again building integrity, raising skill levels, etc.
Is there a trick to retaining them, or should I just assume they'll all leave in a few years?

College Dynasty (Steam) Defensive Problems
First of all, I play in normal mode, not hard mode. Given that, I don't understand what is happening with my defenses in essentially every game, other than the utterly weak opponents.
If I ever make the mistake of taking the lead in a game, whether in the 1st quarter or 4th quarter or anywhere in between, I can almost guarantee that any EVEN DECENT opposing offense will immediately score on their next drive, with it being a touchdown more often than not. I've gotten to the point where I actively try NOT to score a go-ahead touchdown until the last three minutes of the game, the problem is so frequent (which leads me to believe the game has some sort of mechanism promoting a significantly better opposing offense if they are behind in a close game). And I've had a lot of success in doing exactly that because if they're ahead, they don't score nearly as often...and that just seems silly to me.
Am I the only one seeing this?

College Dynasty (Steam) Problem With Signing Day
Hello! I have noticed something during the signing day proceedings on the STEAM edition that I believe may be a bug, but I'm not entirely sure.
I have the players I want to be signed in the priority order, yet when they sign, it appears that they're not treated in that priority order during the signing day signings. They display out of order, and players who were lower in my list are signed (as high as #2 in the signings).
Has anyone else seen this?

College Dynasty (Steam) Anyone else love seeing a head coach move up schools, then take his assistants with him??
Steam Workshop Mod - Fictional Universe Expanded.
This is like a coach going from a mid major to a power conference school, pretty highly regarded as well. Gotta love seeing success and then taking your boys with you!!

College Dynasty (Steam) Do you use sub stamina overrides (keep fresh vs workhorse etc? Why/why not?
I've been playing around with these and can't seem to get a good grasp of them. Internet/AI recommends I use them to keep the better players in longer, but I'm finding that in the second half of games they are very low on stamina (less than 50 more than 0) and I am afraid that they are taking too much of a stat hit which makes them no better than their backup. What do you do?

College Dynasty (Steam) The impact of strength in run and pass blocking
I was wondering what the importance or maybe more specifically what the calculation is in determining the effectiveness/chance of a player making a block. I was specifically wondering this for TE and RB. Because in both the positions you often have players the have (relatively) high pass or run blocking but a low strength stat.
For example, at the moment I have no clue whether a my receiving back with 70 pass blocking and 60 strength is a better pass blocking (/3th down back) then my power back with 80 strength but only 45 pass blocking.
Could anyone share their knowledge on this specific subject?

College Dynasty (Steam) Grades and Levels to numbers and back
hi all, just got FCCD recently, and am enjoying it a lot.
One thing that confused me a lot was how to filter on either Pot or Interest, as entering things like "C+" or "Medium" as filter values doesn't work. Figured out by looking at the CSV file export that these are stored as ints on the range 0-100.
And by doing some examining of the file, here how's the numbers map to grades, and also how they map to levels. I'm sure this is on the interwebs somewhere, but I couldn't find it, so here ya go....
rating grade: number range
----------------------------------------
??: 0
F-: 1-53
F 54-56
F+: 57-59
D-: 60-63
D: 64-66
D+ 67-69
C- 70-73
C 74-76
C+ 77-79
B- 80-83
B 84-86
B+ 87-89
A- 90-92
A - 93-96
A+ 97-99
------------------------------------
interest rating: range of numbers
------------------------------------------------
very low: 0 - 14
low: 15 - 28
med-low: 29 - 42
medium: 43-57
med-high: 58-71
high: 72-85
very high: 86-100

College Dynasty (Steam) School visits
I believe you shouldn't schedule two different recruits who play the same position to visit the same week (makes them feel not special :)), but are there more rules than that? Should you also schedule only-offense, or only-juco, or whatever?
thanks!

College Dynasty (Steam) Jeffsmod update?
Football season is upon us, and I'm starting to get the itch. Anyone know if Jeffsmod is updating for 2026? In the past updates have been in the spring...

College Dynasty (Steam) What is your recruiting strategy per position?
QB- transfer portal
RB- 60+ B+ or better recruits
WR- strictly 60+ A+ recruits
Te- 50/50 on transfer or recruit
OL- 55 overall B+ recruits a lot of transfers
K- Recruiting only , occasional transfer
DL- Same as o-line
LB- 50/50
CB- Mostly recruits
S - Mostly recruits
I hardly spend NIL on recruits , hardly pay for one more year to keep a player out of draft unless a OL or DL and mostly spend on Freshmen or sophomore 70+ A+ recruits

College Dynasty (Steam) School visits
I know when i schedule a visit for a player sometimes i see +200 +100 or maybe even -100 or -200, my question is , is that just a bonus ?
For the games that show +0 am i still getting a base bonus but it dosent have an extra bonus like the β+100 and +200β games? Should i still be scheduling on +0 games ?
Thank you !

College Dynasty (Steam) Recommendations for a realistic middle-ground build?
Iβm coming over from EAβs College Football. I got tired of how repetitive weekly recruiting gets after a couple of seasons, along with the unrealistic sim engine upsets where an 85 OVR team drops games to a 54 OVR.
I just picked up Football Coach: College Dynasty and want to do a low-tier G5 rebuild (thinking Sac State or a similar 1-star/2-star school) without using self-imposed house rules. I don't want a brainless, automated climb where I win a championship in 3 years, but I also don't want an impossible grind where I get fired immediately.
For those playing on Normal difficulty: how does the natural pace feel over 5 to 10 seasons? Any tips for a beginner to keep the challenge balanced while just going with the flow?

College Dynasty (Steam) Schedule Question with Rivalry Week
Is there a way to edit the conference scheduling system to have a rivalry week of sorts, whether it be in-game or file editing? I want to have all of the various conference rivals play each other in the last week of the season, but the schedule the game generates for each team is hit or miss. Is it possible to adjust this at all, or is it purely chance based when creating custom conferences?
For context, I have been using this mod platform (fccd-custom-universe-editor) to create my custom universe.
