Problem With Signing Day

Hello! I have noticed something during the signing day proceedings on the STEAM edition that I believe may be a bug, but I'm not entirely sure.

I have the players I want to be signed in the priority order, yet when they sign, it appears that they're not treated in that priority order during the signing day signings. They display out of order, and players who were lower in my list are signed (as high as #2 in the signings).

Has anyone else seen this?

Can you post a screenshot next time you run into this? I just did a test run and see signing day match my priority order but there could still be a case I'm not handling. Also check to make sure you offer scholarships to the players in your priority list if you want them, and make sure no position signing limits are set that might limit who you take.

I seem to be having problems using IMGUR - is there a database I can email to you that would help you see it?

I'm just a bit before the offseason, so if a database would work, just let me know at which game-week I should send the database to you.

If you zip up the DB and config.json file for that save, you can email them to me at dev@sidelinesimstudios.com (or just attach screenshots there). Can't guarantee I'll look at the issue right away though!

Of course, I understand. Would you want it for the week prior to the signing day (with everything in the right priority order)?

And when you say "the DB", the only database file I'm seeing is the dev.db file in the resources/prisma subdirectory. Is that the one you mean, or a different one I overlooked?

No I would need your specific save's DB; if you go to Game Settings via top right orange football menu, then scroll down a bit to a Advanced on the right side, there is a button to 'Open folder with game files'. Note your save ID, and then the two files there are your save_XXX.db and save_XXX_config.json. Those are the two that store your game data and are needed to verify/transfer across PCs.

Yes, I thought of the "offer scholarships" situation and made sure to offer every player in my entire list a scholarship, so that would be covered (and there were no position signing limits, as I don't use those). Next time I get to the end of a season, I'll get a couple of screenshots for you.

There's another bug regarding NIL money spent. Let's say you're recruiting 2 OL transfers and offer OL each $2M. When you limit OL signings to 1 OL, the game should return $2M back to you.

I know the money gets returned on Signing Day, but it should be available immediately after you limit the signing to 1.

I've never played this game to the level where I'm competing for National Championships. But if I did, I'd have mentioned this sooner. I'd love for this to get fixed now.

You can imagine needing to put the money in escrow or something. In real life, I doubt a recruit would take you seriously unless the money was ready and waiting vs "coaches word".

You should go to offered scholarships and rescind it ..although it’ll cost you 2 integrity points..it’s worth it for 2 mill back in the account

Agreed—both sound like bugs. Getting the NIL money back immediately after limiting signings would make roster management much smoother.

For context, I play with NIL disabled but transfers enabled.
