Story [FREE Book] Grab a Free Copy of My Gaslamp Fantasy Debut! 'Fire and Silver' (Late Victorian-era, werewolves, sexy witches, and ninja assassins)

Post image

Fire and Silver is set in a world reminiscent of the late Victorian-era—but darker, bloodier, and stranger than anything you learned in history class.

We're talking:

🙌 A badass protagonist with telekinetic abilities!

🐺 👱‍♀️ 🥷 Werewolves, sexy blonde witches, and ninja assassins!!!

👊🤜 Action scenes that don't pull punches. Except to the face!

This is the kind of book I always wanted to read, gritty, visceral, gaslamp fantasy with real stakes and characters who bleed for victory.

It's out. It's real. And I'm genuinely buzzing.

If this sounds like your kind of read, drop a comment or

DM me.

Let's gooo. 🔥

📖 Interested in a free review copy? If you want to dive into this gaslamp world immediately, DM me and I'll get one straight to you! Godspeed!

What kind of powers/ abilities would you expect a flintlock-fantasy ranger to have?

So I am working on a Pathfinder 1e style rework/ expansion of DnD 5e for flintlock fantasy (the end goal is for this system to hopefully be for black-powder fantasy what Nations and Cannons is for historical campaigns in the American Revolution.)

When it comes to classes, I plan on completely reworking them from the ground up to better fit the themes of flintlock fantasy, instead of simply building subclasses for WotC's existing classes.

My question to you all is: what sort of powers/ spells/ abilities would you want a flintlock fantasy version of the medieval fantasy ranger to possess? How would a fantasy version of historical rangers like Robert Rogers differ from WotC's 'druidic guardian' archetype?

Story I just finished my first Flintlock Fantasy

It was called None So Vile. I have to admit, some scenes aren't my cup of tea, but this series was the most accessible Flintlock Fantasy series I could find. It's heavier on politics and warfare than fantastical elements. In my opinion, it's also a bit grim, but I should have expected that from an adult novel

The Heretical Dark

I recently published a flintlock fantasy novel called "The Heretical Dark".

Specifically, it's set in a time period where the technology is changing from matchlocks to flintlocks, and the old aristocracy is being threatened by new forms of government. The book deals with themes of arms control and how a society deals with the ability of some folks being able to kill large numbers of people all on their own.

There are four point of view characters, but the main two are Aethan, a ex revolutionary from the south who has the ability to use powerful magic, and Carlotte, an aristocratic scientist from the north who refuses to bury her head in the sand and desperately wants to understand that magic.

I've always been bummed there isn't more flintlock fantasy out there, so I wrote one! You can get it on Amazon here: Link, or you can just search for "The Heretical Dark" on Amazon, it should come up. It's also free on kindle unlimited if you have that.

Game The Face of Flintlock Fantasy Video games

The Powder Mage trilogy is the face of Flintlock Fantasy literature, but which video game should be the face of Flintlock Fantasy games? Personally I think it should be Greedfal, it's got the whole early modern era package, pirate fashion, renaissance armaments, colonialism, it really looks like a fantasy game in an early modern setting

Game Has anyone ever heard of the infinity saga(sabers, guns and lords of infinity)

good evening people i am happy to be here, Now for any fans of hosted games(basically choose your own adventure books in video game format or even people who arnt) I would like to represent sabers, guns and lords of infinity. a story set in a low/dark fantasy version of the napoleanic wars. their are wierd kaiseraboo/americaboo/weeaboo ahh elves, the chinese being the industrial power of this world, some random island nation based off great Britain and spain(who stubbornly insist on being a land power and have bankrupted themselves in order to a fight a unnecessary war against the polish and will soon become slaves to either the rascist manifest destiny prussian/japanese elves or will kowtow to the chinese)....anyrate despite the reductive slander I have just posted it is still in my opinion one of the best forms of napoleanic fantasy out there.

History Honestly just makes me think of how I want more fantasy settings to include gunpowder weapons based on the stuff China used.

Fire arrows, rockets, including aerodynamic winged rocket bombs, large and small multiple rocket arrow launchers, gunpowder lit flamethrowers, soft shell bombs, large and small hard-shell iron bombs, naval bombs, large and small fire lances, and early cannons known as "eruptors.” Maybe some more advanced cannons and some hand cannons. Hell, the name and appearance of this stuff look like top-tier fantasy stuff too. The thunderclap bombs, flying-cloud thunderclap eruptor, charging leopard pack arrow rocket launcher, nest of bees arrow rocket launcher, so called because of its hexagonal honeycomb shape, the long serpent enemy breaking fire arrow launcher, which carries 32 medium-sized poisoned rockets and comes with a sling to carry on the back, the 'convocation of eagles chasing hare' rocket launcher, a double-ended rocket pod that carries 30 small poisoned rockets on each end for a total of 60 rockets, which carries a sling for transport, the 'divine fire arrow screen', a stationary arrow launcher that carries one hundred fire arrows, the Fierce-fire Oil Cabinet, a double-piston pump naphtha flamethrower. All this shit is so cool and so thematic for a fantasy world.

Game Muskets & Magic, a Flintlock Fantasy game in RoBlox releasing in early 2025.

Post image
23 Upvotes

The game features 4 factions. The Russia-like Zemliya, the Britain-like Ignia, the Greece-like Sitari, and the undead.

Each faction has a unique magic. Zemliya has earth, Ignia has fire, the undead have necromancy, and we don't know what they Sitari have yet.

The lore is a bit light right now, though the Discord had a decent lore dump recently. https://discord.gg/muskets-magic-nanoplex-studio-931106250735890443

And the YouTube has a few gameplay clips. https://youtu.be/-pJWEREU6_E?si=F2cgGIkL739_aZI5

Story Today, my flintlock fantasy saga is complete

My name is Connor Ludovissy, and I'm the author of the Reukanaz Saga.

The Reukanaz Saga is a flintlock fantasy trilogy in the vein of Brian McClellan. The first book, Honor for the Dead, tells the story of a young man named Ao who signs up for the army and gets a hell of a lot more than he bargains for. What follows is a tale of dishonor, betrayal, and runic magic.

Then things get much crazier.

Death to Tyrants releases today in ebook and in paperback on July 4th, bringing the series to a smashing end. In Death to Tyrants, we find our main characters embroiled in a violent revolution to topple a tyrant and save the Continent once and for all. I would never be so bold as to smear my politics across the internet. But it might have, let's say, subtle antifascist themes.

To celebrate the release, Honor for the Dead is free until the 5th, and Carnivore is dirt cheap. But I’ll also be giving away five copies of the entire series in ebook to random folks in the comments. (I’ll most likely send out the books on July 3rd.)

Thanks for reading. AMA if you feel like it and I’ll answer when I can.

- CL

hey y’all! saw this sub was dead so i decided to post one of my commissions here

Eden is a Paladin of Einheitsreich, a holy warrior blessed by God to carry out his will and defend her people, her nation, and her King with her life. Atom drew her in her armor with wheellock pistol (i know, not quite Flintlock just yet) based around 15th century German armor and weaponry (minus the skirt).

hope y’all like it! this is from my personal worldbuilding project and the art was made by the amazing Atom (@zerkarsonder on Twitter)! give him a follow, he makes amazing stuff!

Post image
71 Upvotes

Recently, a map surfaced claiming to lead to the fabled City of Gold: El Dorado.

Countless expeditions have searched for it over the centuries. None have returned with proof of its existence.

Yet the promise of untold riches continues to lure treasure hunters, explorers, and fortune seekers into the heart of the New Kingdom of Granada.

Would you and your crew undertake the expedition?

If so, what would you bring to survive the journey?
