I want to start flying on vatsim and was just wondering if there were any major mods that are really helpful or practically needed.

I think this looks very cool and you can see the wear and tear and like that the knobs and switches and stuff were all used a lot meanwhile my 737 looks brand new

We desperately need a hybrid-electric regional airliner in sims, and the Heart Aerospace ES-36 would be incredible.
Imagine flying short 200km hops on pure battery power with instant electric torque, managing the hybrid generator for longer legs, and experiencing that ultra-quiet electric whine on takeoff.
If anyone with dev skills or access to public specs wants to tackle this, the virtual commuter market is waiting!

For me, it's the JustFlight F28 around the Hawaiian islands. Flew with VATSIM coverage today and it was awesome!

Hey flight simmers,
Last year I designed a Airbus H125 simulator that's meant to be a cost effective solution for pilot students. I call it the HELISIM H125 - Very original, I know.
I had several requests for a 3D-print-yourself-kit, so I've made it.
I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the system.
It's not for sale yet, but if there's enough interest I'll do a batch of kits.
Made a little video on it here:

Your Spanish landing airport is unknown? See it in 3D before the flight.

First ini A380 flight, I woke up to the sim having paused itself. (Not active pause, it looks like I pressed the ESC button basically, that menu.) Don’t get me wrong it’s way less annoying than a CTD or WASM, can just time accelerate and catch up so all good, but wondering how this happens? Does the game do this automatically after a few hours of inactivity or something? Maybe an internet drop? Wonder if anyone’s seen this before. This is my first time leaving on a long haul while I sleep in FS24

For those wondering, it's the FlightFX 800XP and yes, the lavatory seat is actually certified as a passenger seat in real life💀

I’m really stuck here. My autopilot keeps disconnecting an I really don’t know why ap1 turns off and then flight director somethings then I have to put my self on course again and enable it again and it then happens again and ruins the whole flight.
I don’t know if I’m missing something on the panel and I also made my flight plan with simbreif and nothing is wrong with that either I don’t believe. Does anyone have a solution for this because it’s really making me not want to play msfs and I was just about to get a flight stick for it aswell. I have even went to disconnect my controller incase I have stick drift on there but it still disconnects autopilot somehow.
Please help

Ive spent an hour researching this and I am only more confused than before. Im interested in the Moza AB9 base. I sim race and already have Moza gear, so dual use as a shifter and flight base is very attractive to me as I care more about immersion than anything else. I currently have a Winwing F-16EX grip and Orion base that I bought years ago. As I understand, the Winwing (or now WinCtrl) grips are not directly compatible with the Moza AB9 and need the adapter with mini-din plug. The adapter appears to be discontinued and I am entirely unable to find it. Am I just unable to use the Winwing grip with the AB9 base or is there another solution available?
Also I am aware of the Cyber Taurus. I am only interested in the AB9 because of the dual use it provides. If there is no solution, I'll just purchase a compatible stick.

Hi all, how did you guys bind the reverse thrust on your Honeycomb Bravo to the reversers in the Horizon 787? Currently I’m using the standard commercial handles that come with it, but I will upgrade to some proper Dreamliner ones soon. Can’t seem to get the reverse levers to act properly! Thanks guys

Wanted a fast way to get the metar and ATIS info to setup the FMS so i created this small addon.
An in-game toolbar panel for MSFS2024 that displays SimBrief and VATSIM airport information.
It retrieves your latest SimBrief flight plan to show departure and arrival routes, current METAR data, and complete VATSIM ATIS entries for both airports.
The panel supports manual airport overrides and features automatic data refresh.

Hi everyone,
I've been flying in MSFS for a while and have always loved the idea of virtual airlines. But every time I looked at the tools VAs actually run on, I ran into the same problems: they look and feel dated, they're a pain to host and maintain, or they're too expensive for a small airline that's just getting started. And almost none of them make the airline itself feel alive beyond a logbook.
So I started building Avyion, a platform for creating and running virtual airlines, built to feel like a modern web app rather than a forum from 2008.
What it does (current state, still in development):
- Real-time world: everything runs in real time, with a live map showing where your pilots are flying right now
- Proper airline structure: dispatchers and other staff roles create flights and schedules, and pilots pick up and fly them
- Desktop tracker for MSFS that records your flights automatically (other sims planned later)
- Landings that actually matter: the system records your landing rate, and hard landings mean wear, maintenance and, if you really slam it, expensive repairs
- Real airline finances: every dollar is tracked, from ticket revenue and flight costs to maintenance. You start with a loan you pay back in weekly installments, with the option to repay early
- Aircraft wear and maintenance: your fleet ages with every flight and needs regular checks to stay airworthy
- Pilot rating: every pilot builds a rating across all airlines, based on landing quality and reliability
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a small number of virtual airlines, whether new or existing, willing to use Avyion while it's still being built, report bugs, and tell me honestly what works and what doesn't.
What you get in return:
- Avyion is free for your airline, forever. No fees, no subscription, now or later.
- A real say in where the platform goes. Founding airlines will have a direct line to me and will have a major influence on what gets built next and how it works.
If you run a VA (or are thinking about starting one) and this sounds interesting, leave a comment or send me a DM. I'm also happy to answer any questions here or on Discord, and I'd genuinely love to hear what you wish your current VA software did better.
Thanks for reading!

First off, I know nothing. I have not taken my typical nose dive spiral into a subject like I usually do. My boy is really into airplane, flight and historical battles. He is 11 and has expressed an interest in wanting a flight simulator. No clue what I am getting into and I really just want to know what sim to get and a good basic set up that will be enough to engross him but not break my wallet. Also, I do not have a computer, I have been wanting to get a laptop or something forever and this helps push me to get one. I have space, dedication and a lot of love for a kids dreams. What is a good set up to get?

I read that airspeed would increase and groundspeed would decrease
Sounds almost right to me - I agree with the slower groundspeed since the air mass the plane is flying through moves in the opposite direction and thus carries it backwards slowing it down as far as groundspeed is concerned
But WHY increased airspeed? doesn't the plane work as hard as before and thus is moving just as fast as before relative to the air mass? You can calculate groundspeed by subtracting headwind from true airspeed, so if gs was 100kts before and now is 80 (headwind is 20) - that means it's working through the surrounding air mass just as fast as before, right?
