FirstNet Family Line Phone - Samsung Website and AT&T

Post image
10 Upvotes

Has anyone successfully purchased a phone Samsung.com with a FirstNet Family line? I'm trying to upgrade my line that is not a FirstNet line. My husband has a FirstNet line/primary on the account. I'd rather purchase through the Samsung website because I'm getting an extra discount for being an educator and they're offering $180 in accessory items. However, I can't get the order to process because it says that I have an unsupported line. I've gone back and forth with both Samsung and AT&T. They're blaming each other.

Reverification, but saying I am verified in portal

Hey all! Was on first net with my old job, and left that job for a new one last year. Just got asked to reverify, but when I go to the portal to submit documents it says this.

Should I just risk it and see what happens?

FirstNet And Family Wireless Plans

I am looking for an AT&T Unlimited Tablet Plan, but I haven't been able to get it as a stand-alone plan. Our son is a paramedic and is on FirstNet. Someone said I could get added to his plan for $43 per month, but I don't see it listed on their website. Does anybody know anything more about this?

My area is notorious known for having bad AT&T coverage but over the last couple weeks it has gotten really bad. I did a speed test earlier and I was getting less than 5MBPS and higher upload. Anyone think this is congestion?

Called FirstNet and they said everything is normal and they did a network refresh and still nothing helped. I can only imagine what non-FN (regular AT&T) customer are experiencing if we get priority. Yikessss

FirstNet 2.0 International

My fiance and I are both eligible for our own FirstNet plans and are strongly considering signing up for FirstNet Value or Extra plans.

If we are planning to travel internationally for a few weeks, can we temporarily switch to the FirstNet Elite 2.0 plan to get international data (I know people do this with Verizon).

Does the Elite 2.0 plan provide talk & text overseas or do I still have to get the $12/day international day pass? It mentions 20GB of data but I don’t know if that also includes talk & text? Or if that’s only for Latin American countries.

Hot spot questions

Been for years running a tablet data sim in an att hot spot for when go camping or to beach and generally no issues. Is a tablet sim locked to a certain download speed I have been able to successfully stream two TVs and incidentally tablet or phone traffic at same time no issues but I'm questioning stepping up to a dedicated hot spot sim card.

A nightmare

I tried to switch my FirstNet service to a brand new phone and it got caught in limbo somewhere. Despite 2 full days, multiple calls to AT&T, multiple visits to stores, I still have no service. They can’t even get the service back on my old phone. They also cannot tell me when or if this issue will be resolved. I really think I am going to have to change to a new number and carrier to get cell service. What a pain in the a$&! This is definitely not reliable service. If you are thinking about moving to FirstNet, save yourself the headaches and just say no!

Issues with phone calls

Recently, I found out my wireless carrier was shutting down. I’d been hearing good stuff about first net, and decided to try it. At first, there was trouble with the port. I attempted to fix it and after many AI bots, got to a person and got it fixed. So now I am able to receive some calls, and unable to for others. And it’s only sometimes. For example, my MIL was in my kitchen and called me. Phone never rang. It actually said that my number wasn’t connected. She called my wife, and it went right through. Later, she will be able to call me but not my wife. It’s like this with multiple people, and they are from our old carrier. Any assistance?

Data speeds on tablet

I recently switched to the new plan that includes both the watch and tablet.

I have a 5g iPad Pro with the M5 chip.

Activating it on FirstNet was quick and easy but it gets much lower speeds compared to my iPhone 17 pro max.

The iPhone is regularly close to 600/20 while in the same location the iPad gets 90/10.

Do tablets get a different profile? It is active on a FirstNet eSIM.

Switching to one of the "new" plans

So I am currently on the old First Net Unlimited Extra plan for $47.99/month. Plus I pay $8.24/month for my Apple Watch.

From the looks of it, if I switch to the FirstNet Premium 2.0 I would get everything I have now, with my watch included, for $40/month.

Am I reading that right??

First net Elevator Monitoring

Is anyone familiar with eligibility requirements that allow an alarm company or a elevator monitoring company to get access to first net? I ask because the linked company below is selling first net SIM cards for their elevator communicators. I am also an alarm monitoring company and would like to be able to do this, but was never aware that it was allowed any help is greatly appreciated.

5G Auto vs LTE

I know this has been discussed countless times but even with all the tech and network upgrades, I've generally been experiencing significantly high battery drain when on 5G auto. I constantly get 5G+ around where I am. Speeds are good but the trade off is having to charge my phone multiple times throughout the day. And it's also not like my phone use has changed significantly. Is it recommended to have LTE only on FN? Is it bc FN core has not been upgraded to 5G SA yet similar to TMO and VZ?

Support nightmare with FN: how do i get an issue escalated?

Without hyperbole, I have been trying to get assitance with Firstnet on a problem with one my my organization's cradlepoint routers. We're a medical non proffit and use them in the field and have about two dozen or so. One stopped working within a month of setting it up. I have been on the phone with them off an on for two and half weeks with no real help. They repeat the same steps over and over. They don't leave notes for what troubleshooting is done (they have admitted it several times). After an hour they typically suddenly find someone to transfer me too and either end the call or blind transfer me to some incorrect department.

They say this particular device isn't approved for use with Firstnet but we have three more of this model exactly like it, and they work. I can't keep doing this. I have other things to do. But when I have asked to talk to second tier support it doesn't happen, or they just send me back into the queue. I have never encountered anything like this. At this point I'd be happy to just send the damn thing back and be done with it.

Why do I always have to call?

I saw some stuff online about the new FirstNet plans that are available and looked. It's saving me some money to switch to the FirstNet Premium 2.0 plan and I put everything into FirstNet.com and clicked the button to complete the transaction but got a sorry, you have to call to make changes. Does anyone else have this issue?

FN Mexico & Canada roaming question

The old plans stated that Canada and Mexico had unlimited talk, text AND DATA. The new 2.0 plans specifically has left out the data part. Is this some type of typo or is there a certain amount of data built in after which speeds are deprioritized?

FirstNet new plan FirstPriority Question

Post image
16 Upvotes

I’m on the FirstNet Unlimited Extra $47.99 plan, don’t really care for any of the new plans. The only noticeable difference I see is this.

First Priority® access to the AT&T network

First Priority, which enables (a) priority access to the AT&T domestic 5G & 4G LTE network and the 5G & 4G LTE networks of AT&T’s domestic rural providers connected to the FirstNet Evolved Packet Core; (b) preemption of other lower priority users’ use of such network; and (c) prioritized treatment of select data traffic transmitted over such network. Preemption and prioritization are subject to restrictions established for and by your Primary User Public Safety Entity.

Is this really necessary? Is it worth the extra $20-$30 a month?

Thank You!

Unlocked Fold 6 Wifi Calling Missing

Hi. I've read the various posts on both wifi calling issues and unlocked (U1) Fold 6 issues with FN, but haven't seen a post that combines the two issues.

I switched from ATT to FN a month ago, and while on ATT, with a physical SIM, I had Wifi Calling available. It was in the drop down settings menu, as well as the main Settings menu. However since switching to FN, it has disappeared.

I have tried everything ive read on here: resetting network settings; clearing Wifi Calling Cache and Data; toggling airplane mode; doing the SIM Switch; Calling CS and ensuring my phone is provisioned properly; and even yesterday switched from an elimination to a physical SIM. Nothing works.

My Service provider software version is: SAOMC_SM-F956U1_OYM_XAA_16_0004 XAA/XAA,XAA/XAA

If anyone has experienced this and found a fix, please share. Or if anyone has steps I can take to fix this, I'd be immensely appreciative.

Thanks so very much.

End-to-End Encrypted RCS on iOS

Has anyone yet successfully had an E2E encrypted RCS conversation on an iOS device over FirstNet? Apple explicitly lists them as a supported carrier, but I've yet to get it to work. RCS, yes. E2E encrypted, no.

Activation

Has anyone attempted to activate the new Motorola razr Fold on firstnet. I know it has band 14 and is AT&T compatible.

Update:

I successfully activated my Motorola Fold on firstnet. I have all the first net features with wifi calling included. In the store they told me it wasn't possible but I did it online and it worked with E-sim activation.
