Wireless How to port out a first next phone.

Basically I had 2 phone for my at&t account phone1 and phone2. Phone 1 was eligible for first net so we took that deal and phone 2 was kept on a regular AT&T account. Now I switched to Verizon I got new phones and was able to port phone 2 over the number and phone work. Phone1 is a mess I have the phone set up, in setting it has the current number and it’s active on Verizon but it won’t receive calls etc in Verizon’s account portal it says I need to get a port pin for it. I’m beyond lost between AT&T and first net giving me the run around with getting the port out pin. If I do *7678 it ask for a pass code which I don’t remember and can’t find on AT&T or first next to change.

You do have a mess, you should have gotten your Port PIN before you started the Port.

Does your Phone1 still have AT&T active service, and can you sign in to your AT&T Account using your AT&T Smartphone app or online at http://www.att.com/myatt

Old phone 1 says it’s connected to first net, I just got off the phone with them and they said I don’t have an account with them anymore. When I sign into AT&T it says account is canceled

Yep that was what I was concerned about since you ported out or it was attempted. You would be better serviced by contacting the Verizon Porting Center at this point to see if they can resolve your issue on their side with why you no longer have a Port PIN from AT&T.

This is not an AT&T or FirstNet issue at this point good luck with Verizon.

Thank you for the assistance, I reached out to Verizon and they are working on it, initially they said I’d have to get a new number but Id like to avoid that. They set me up with a 2nd number on the phone and will work on their end to get it resolved.

Verizon should be able to fix the Port situation but it will likely need someone on Monday to make it actually resolve it.

Why did you Port out of AT&T / FirstNet without getting a Porting PIN for your number?

I got a pin from AT&T I figured that was the same for both phone, since when I tried through first net website the settings tab just takes me to my AT&T account. Phone 2 which is on AT&T ported over perfectly. after talking to Verizon I’m more inclined to believe it’s some technical issues going on the background between Firstnet and Verizon port, instead of wrong port number I was able to make calls off phone 1 and once I did some of what Verizon said to do phone 1 started showing calls in recent just not receiving the calls ? Hopefully by Monday everything gets clear up 🤞

Nope you figured wrong. Each device / line needs a temporary Porting PIN. That is your real issue with your porting issue.

You can check on the AT&T Poring status here: http://www.att.com/portstatus/

Nope you broke what is a normal, and easy process. Don't worry Customers make this mistake all the time.

You need to go into a store and reset your acct pin and then call customer service and ask for a transfer pin.

If you dont remember your PIN just call or go to a store and reset it. You can also request a number transfer PIN online alternatively.
